am i right in thinking the low number of tickets available is due to Police concerns ? sure i remember reading the hold up on info was down to Brentford waiting on them?

if this is correct, surely loads of Saints fans not getting tickets in the ballot & deciding to go in the home sections is asking for more trouble than allowing a larger allocation in the 1st place? its not like they get bumper crowds every week either.

anyone got a unique and interesting fact about Griffin Park?

It was named such after local supporter, Not The Nine O'Clock News star, Griff Rhys Jones.

A popular cry often heard would be "Is Griff in?"

For those of us non ST holders going up is there a consensus as to which part of the ground we should congregate in? The Bill Axeby stand maybe, section A or B? I think this is closest to the 'Away' stand.

Saints fans won't be able to get in the home end. To get a home end ticket you have to prove you are a Brentford ST holder/member/whatever else they are banging on about on their website. There is going to be alot of disappointed Saints fans for this one, seeing as it'll probably be a half empty stadium.

I will second that, lets form a consensus!

Even if we were to walk up on the day and say we are in the area and fancy watching a game of football, they wouldnt sell us a ticket then? Even if they have thousands of empty seats?

I'll be in there with my Brenford Season ticket holding mate :smug:

I heard it was names Griffin Park due to the afore-mentioned Griff Rhys Jones being found their making sweet, tender love to Ji-Sung Park.

I wonder what the cut-off point for away games attended will be for this one. For Bournemouth the consensus was that about 3 prior away games got you a ticket, for this one we have more tickets, but more away games have passed, which will probably mean you'll need to have been to at least 4, maybe 5 games. Me and my fellow ST mate have both got 3 games on our ST's........not sure this will be enough but will give a go anyway

Anyone who went to Rochdale should be first choice for tickets.

Yes I did before you ask.

For sure maybe even a FREE one..........Christ my feet still ache tonight from that nightmare M6 drive

Basically if you get a ticket through the Brighton ballot you should get a ticket for Brentford via the ballot.

Same goes for if you got a ticket for Bournemouth i'd imagine.

you can always get in the home end - have done it several times this year - Leyton Orient etc, and will be at Plymouth

Even if you just trun up on the day here you'll be fine

Posted

you can buy tickets from brentford on line. like before, i have never had any bother watching saints away while amongst 'home' fans. the last time i did this, was the JPT final and i was among the carlisle fans, as it was the only way i could get a ticket.

Just got our tickets confirmed, can't wait. We're gonna make a day of it so any accessible pub recommendations en route very welcomed?

really hoping this is the game that seals it then those making the Plymouth trek can relax and enjoy the drive regardless then the massive promotion party against Warsaw.

It's all falling into place, come on Huddersfield lose, lose, lose.

This is just a couple of miles on the E8 for the nipper and me, so was hoping to get tickets in the home section.

But Brentford will only sell to their ST holders, members etc - and no sales at all on the day. They've also refused to increase Saints' allocation, as it's last home game of the season for them.

Up to them I guess, but frustrating all the same - can't imagine they'll fill the ground.

My Brentford mate with contacts has told me he can get me in with the player's wives and girlfriends. If I'm not working, I quite fancy that. Not sure if there are any tappable ladies there but i'll dangle my knob out there and see if I can catch a bite.

The issue with Griffin Park is that they can't part segregate stands due to the lack of exit points.

I think wach stand only has one entrhance off the road.

So they either give us one of the side stands or we stay as we are.

Knowing how rubbish they are at cashing in and what season ticket holders are like about being moved you can see why we will only get the inital allocation.

Their loss mind you.

They took 24,000 to Wembley, although how many of them were really Brentford fans is questionable - I know i wasn't.

So you find that usually works then?

And as much as it may irk some Saints fans, Brentford have an obligation to their own fans first and it may well be that asking/demanding season ticket holders to vacate a stand will not be in their best long term interests. Of course we would like more tickets, but that's not to say we should be riding roughshod over other teams and their supporters.

If they (Club and supporters) want to accomodate more of us then fair enough, but it should be their decision on what is best for them.

Personally, I have to ask whether what Orient did the other day was best for them. Of course they got some extra wonga from the 3,200 fans, but it effectively turned it in to a home match for us and potentially helped inspire the team to victory. Some extra ££££££'s balanced against 3 points in a play off push match?????

we didn't help them to get more FA cup tickets so its hardly surprising they aren't bending over backwards for us.

I think you're being a bit unfair there Chez.

Brentford's Officials at that time were complete buffoons and I can remember Luker, Coley, Egelstaff, Cowen and others (inc Police and supporters groups) bending over backwards to try and dig them out of the hole they had gotten themselves in. I have seen Tyro League Clubs better run that Brentford around that time!!!!!

Plus all the time people were trying to come up with a solution, the idiots in charge up at Brentford were printing lies on their Official Site and spouting complete ****** in interviews on Sky Sports, which wasn't really the best way to try and win friends and influence people!!!!!

The end result was two sets of fans (and officials, judging by martin Allen's conduct on the day) who were somewhat wound up by the time the tie was actually played!!!!!

We did more than we should have to help them out that day.

Blurgh this looks like a depressing mess of a game, without knowing someone from the club I dont see man people actually being able to get a ticket (feel entitled to one after Rochdale)

The ground will have 1805 away fans plus a couple of hundred in the home end, plus another 3.5k home fans. Dull and rubbishy league one strikes again.

Would though improve my tune if Brentford hadn't stopped taking new admissions to the club to prevent people buying a Colchester ticket and then being fine to get a Saints ticket

Please note with immediate effect - applications for all memberships that enable priority booking will not be fully processed so that no ticketing benefit can be gained until such time that the match is played.

Hardly a surprise they have stopped taking membership applications.

Regarding Um Pahars post above the FA Cup ticket debacle was largely of Brentford's making. They offered tickets with no priority to season ticket holders and people could buy as many as they wanted.

What the Bees fans seem to be most upset about is that they were indiscriminately chucked out of the home end (rightly according to policy but who hasn't been in the home end for an away game).

If you go in the home end be prepared to get pointed out to stewards etc, whether they will do anything about it is a different matter.

How does it work if you apply for terracing for example, but terracing sells out to those with more games on average than your application, but there are still tickets for the seats. Would we automatically be given seated tickets or would the ticket office call around to check/change the app or nothing at all?

It says exactly how this works on the ticket post.

Unless you specify that you want a seat they will give you a terrace ticket - unless you specify you don't want a terrace ticket if you can't get a seat.

There are only 570 seats so clearly they're going to do the seats first, after they've worked out who's getting the tickets altogether that is.

Cheers, good shout, would have been a good idea for me to read the full article first.

forgive me for simplifying things. Perhaps you can tell me exactly what we did do for them in the end?

I wholeheartedly agree it was their fault and they were ******s about it, but I just got the feeling that we could have left the block in question free in case they did need it rather than selling tickets early when thousands of other seats were available elsewhere.

It matters not, the perception is that we didn't help them. Unless there are directors still there now that really felt we had helped I'd of thought that perception will linger long in the memory and little wonder they aren't busting a gut to help us.

No. The only time I did get a bite, I had to have the tip surgically reattached. Womenz don't seem to like it. Can't fathom why...
