skintsaint Posted 14 April, 2011 Posted 14 April, 2011 I've just seen the goals on the BBC player. We need a new keeper. I agree. Not sure he could have done too much with the first but the 2nd is dreadful and not the first time we've seen him beaten there.
Fowllyd Posted 14 April, 2011 Posted 14 April, 2011 I have been to Carlisle, Huddersfield and now Rochdale away and we have lost all 3, and even though we have had good numbers at these games it has been a bit quiet. Not sure what it is about northern away games, as we also lost to Oldham and Tranmere, but we seem to be really good down south. I think when Saints fans travel north of London they are very tired at games... bless them! That would be the 6-0 reverse loss I take it...
Wes Tender Posted 14 April, 2011 Posted 14 April, 2011 I normally agree with most of what you say Wes but whilst they will not be a formality i expect Huddersfield to win all those games and firmly believe we will need to win 5 out of 6 So although Huddersfield have drawn 6 of their last 13 matches, against teams like Swindon,Yeovil, Dag & Red,Oldham, etc, you believe that drawing matches is not a possibility any longer for them? All we have to do is match the results achieved by Huddersfield and Posh, win, draw or lose and we are up.
Barry the Badger Posted 14 April, 2011 Posted 14 April, 2011 Having just watched the goals... The second is shocking mistake but it's not comparable to the Peterborough & mk dons ones everybody keeps banging on about it being the same as. With those two he left a gap and didn't get down to the shot...with this one he has the near post covered but then fluffs the stop. Progress? ;-) Still of the opinion that he's a quality keeper overall though.
hutch Posted 14 April, 2011 Posted 14 April, 2011 Still of the opinion that he's a quality keeper overall though. I agree. Keepers in league one make mistakes. That's why it bothers me that Rickie is still going for glory and scraping his free kicks against the outside of the woodwork with the keeper nowhere near it, rather than just hitting the target and see what happens.
Whitey Grandad Posted 14 April, 2011 Posted 14 April, 2011 I agree. Not sure he could have done too much with the first but the 2nd is dreadful and not the first time we've seen him beaten there. The first looks like a dolly-drop to me, it actually bounces on the goal-line. I suspect that Kelvin has trouble following the flight of the ball through the air. He's quite a good shot-stopper but lob a ball up towards him and who knows what might happen.

Still a good keeper and stood by the club when he certainly might have done better elsewhere (financially speaking). However, sentiment doesn't win titles and if we are playing CCC football next season, then I'd want to sign the best keeper I was able to afford. (note: NC)..and I think NA might agree, too.
