alpine_saint Posted 27 April, 2011 Share Posted 27 April, 2011 Surprised at how little recognition Lee Barnard is getting in these nominations. He fought like a terrier (unfortunately not always on the pitch...) and scored some crucial goals.
rooney Posted 27 April, 2011 Share Posted 27 April, 2011 Fonte, because he has been a regular, helped to keep all those clean sheets, in the League 1 Team of the year and scored goals. On top of that he is a classy CB.

Liquidshokk Posted 27 April, 2011 Share Posted 27 April, 2011 Fonte, because he has been a regular, helped to keep all those clean sheets, in the League 1 Team of the year and scored goals. On top of that he is a classy CB. Everytime the ball goes anywhere near our goal you just know Fonte is going to win it everytime. Always in the right place at the right time and great timing in going for the ball. Add to that the awesome goals he's been scoring and I think we have our winner.... Bananaman Posted 27 April, 2011 Share Posted 27 April, 2011 Harding for me... has been a pleasure to watch
Saint-Armstrong Posted 27 April, 2011 Share Posted 27 April, 2011 I voted Fonte, much more consistent. Lallana was away from the team and while we may not have been as exciting we were still winning. We've had 19 clean sheets and only conceded 12 at home. Lallana has only scored 7 so for this year I say Fonte. Feel free to oppose
NickG Posted 27 April, 2011 Share Posted 27 April, 2011 1) Fonte 2) Lallana 3) Lambert 4) Davis 5) Butterfield / Guly / Jaidi / Harding / Morgan / Barnard - all had good seasons and played important part
krissyboy31 Posted 27 April, 2011 Share Posted 27 April, 2011 I voted Lallana but reading on here and the Saints related twitter sites looks like Fonte is a nailed on certainty.
The Cat Posted 27 April, 2011 Share Posted 27 April, 2011 Fonte for me. If Lallana had been fit all season it would have been a tough choice. While other players have undoubtedly had good seasons, none have been anywhere near as good as those 2. To my eyes Jose is just sickeningly good at this level. (Cue the 95th minute howler on Saturday)
Leslie Charteris Posted 27 April, 2011 Share Posted 27 April, 2011 Even Rickie thinks it should be Jose - "The defence have been superb this season, it's reassuring to have them there," Lambert told BBC Radio Solent. OK, not just Jose, but Fonte gets my vote.
James Posted 27 April, 2011 Share Posted 27 April, 2011 Voted for Jose, Adam has been great but the defence has been vital this season and Jose has popped up with some pretty important goals.
CWD Posted 27 April, 2011 Share Posted 27 April, 2011 Voted for Fonte. Really couldn't look past him. Our most consistent CB since Svennson.
Saint-Armstrong Posted 27 April, 2011 Share Posted 27 April, 2011 On the spelling front - I've had a confirmation email on my vote for Fonte - they say it is fine, as they just search the inbox for 'Fonte' etc.
Chez Posted 27 April, 2011 Share Posted 27 April, 2011 Fonte has had about two average games all season, the rest he's been 9 out of 10.
