Pugwash Posted 9 April, 2011 Posted 9 April, 2011 When can we start voting on this? I'd like to get an early vote in for Fonte.
niceandfriendly Posted 9 April, 2011 Posted 9 April, 2011 Actually to be fair, no need to wait. It's Lallana. No explanation needed.
sfc1971 Posted 9 April, 2011 Posted 9 April, 2011 For me it would be Jaidi, But if Barney carries on his run and get us promotion it has to be him he has popped up with some very important goals when it counts and has a superb workrate I would hate to play against him he is a pest to opposing teams.
sfc1971 Posted 9 April, 2011 Posted 9 April, 2011 (edited) has to be alex chamberlain ! MMnnn AOC is a Ex Saint me thinks..... TBC And He aint all that ! watch the replays and most are just pure luck would be like saying Forte is worth 5m. If we dont sell AOC this summer we will be lucky to get 1m because he will not cut it a League above. Edited 9 April, 2011 by sfc1971 TBC
hamster Posted 9 April, 2011 Posted 9 April, 2011 There can be only one. RadhiJaidhiOFF If nothing else for his clean shlts.
hamster Posted 10 April, 2011 Posted 10 April, 2011 /\ lol Schoolboy error. It has to be Radhi has to be
S-Clarke Posted 10 April, 2011 Posted 10 April, 2011 And He aint all that ! watch the replays and most are just pure luck would be like saying Forte is worth 5m. If we dont sell AOC this summer we will be lucky to get 1m because he will not cut it a League above. wtf? Bizzare. I remember posters saying Bale isn't all that and he'd get found out. He's now one of the best players in Europe.
dronskisaint Posted 10 April, 2011 Posted 10 April, 2011 End of season decision for me but ain't it great there are so many contenders? Pick from Lallana, Jaidi, Fonte, currently but Harding, Barny, Ricky.......there are a few who could yet push us that extra bit to the Championship!
hamster Posted 10 April, 2011 Posted 10 April, 2011 In the coming weeks people need to have a serious think about this question. I cannot remember a season like it with quite so many contenders. I am sure that steve and Baj will put up a POTs poll soon. I know who I will be voting for but others on here might need a week or two to realise that I am right on this. Quite often in the past our POTS has departed in the summer. For once let's keep him and build the defence around this giant. Vote Radhi.

Most bizarre thing I have ever seen written on here for a while I think...Not sure if your location is right but you sure do speak out of it!
Islander Posted 10 April, 2011 Posted 10 April, 2011 Lots of contenders this year but its Lallana for me. You only have to look at how we struggled without him at times during the season. Someone worked out the points we got with him in the team and then without (before Orient). It was quite staggering. He really makes a difference. Credit to so many others though - Fonte, Jaidi, Barnard and Ricky for working through his difficult start - can't have been easy.
Kingsland Red Posted 10 April, 2011 Posted 10 April, 2011 Great times. It was only a few years ago when someone playing about ten games for us won it by default (Andrew Davies?) due to a total lack of talent.
VectisSaint Posted 10 April, 2011 Posted 10 April, 2011 I will cast my vote for Pulis. Without his contribution we would be where we are today.
Thedelldays Posted 10 April, 2011 Posted 10 April, 2011 (edited) fonte lallana OxO Edited 10 April, 2011 by Thedelldays
Danish Saint Posted 10 April, 2011 Posted 10 April, 2011 Lallana, with Fonte and Hammond as close 2nd and 3rd.
Lighthouse Posted 10 April, 2011 Posted 10 April, 2011 It's a complete dead heat for me between Fonte, Lallana and Barnard. A defender, midfielder and a striker. Just shows how good we've been accross the park. I really can't pick a winner. They all have different roles, but have all been consistently excellent at what they do. Jaidi, Davis, Hammond and Lambert have all been good in patches, but thrown in a few stinkers too.
The9 Posted 10 April, 2011 Posted 10 April, 2011 wtf? Bizzare. I remember posters saying Bale isn't all that and he'd get found out. He's now one of the best players in Europe. Yeah, but they *were* right for about 3 years.
The9 Posted 10 April, 2011 Posted 10 April, 2011 FWIW 1) Lallana - we're just not the same side without him. 2) Fonte - a class above this division and very few mistakes all season long. 3) Barnard - just works and works for the team, great finisher.
Smirking_Saint Posted 10 April, 2011 Posted 10 April, 2011 Lallana for me, closely followed by Fonte. Can't believe someone said Harding.
Ohio Saint Posted 10 April, 2011 Posted 10 April, 2011 Lallana or Barnard.......But Oxo has definitely given the season something interesting. He is a prospect that has certainly made me think that our youth are still firmly in our future.
doddisalegend Posted 11 April, 2011 Posted 11 April, 2011 It's a funny one this season as most players have had a very mixed season, alot of the players who are standing out right now had some dodgy spells early on in the season, but almost every player has had a vital role to play sometime this season. For example if Forte does nothing else this season, he has already made a big contribution. The only stand out player all season for me is Adam Lallana, he has been head and shoulders above most players on the pitch every time I've seen him play. So Adam it is
ulstersaint Posted 11 April, 2011 Posted 11 April, 2011 Got to be Fonte - classy and consistent. When I think back to the lean years when, after Claus and Killer, we were desperate for a half-decent centre half . . . . . . what a joy to see Fonte in the starting line up evey week alongside Jaidi. BTW, Fonte for Captain next season.

St_Tel49 Posted 11 April, 2011 Posted 11 April, 2011 I'd also like to vote by instalments, please. F No chance - no sooner would you have voted on your first instalment than you would cancel your membership of the forum. NC rules. PS Lallana by a country mile.
Saint Charlie Posted 11 April, 2011 Posted 11 April, 2011 1. Fonte 2. Lallana 3. Jaidi For me Lallana is our best player but has not started enough games to win this. Fonte has been Mr Consistent - best CB in L1.
hughieslastminutegoal Posted 11 April, 2011 Posted 11 April, 2011 (edited) I'd also like to vote by instalments, please. F Is that following the forum's voting rules to the letter? Edited 11 April, 2011 by hughieslastminutegoal
niceandfriendly Posted 11 April, 2011 Posted 11 April, 2011 1st jaidi 2nd butterfeild 3rd fonte Lallana not even in the top three? He's the best player in this league by a huge distance. Even if he only played 5 games this season he'd have done enough to win the award. If AL doesn't win this year it'll be quite criminal really.
hughieslastminutegoal Posted 11 April, 2011 Posted 11 April, 2011 Can we use AV please. Only if we have a referendum first - I prefer STV (that's not sexually transmitted virus, either, though maybe that is preferrable to AV).
Cabrone Posted 11 April, 2011 Posted 11 April, 2011 Can't decide between Lallana and Fonte. Both have been immense for us this season and thoroughly deserve to play at a higher level.
Leicestersaint Posted 11 April, 2011 Posted 11 April, 2011 Lots of great performances but Lallana stands out for me.
John Cool Posted 11 April, 2011 Posted 11 April, 2011 1) Adam Lallana 2) Jose Fonte 3) Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
LVSaint Posted 11 April, 2011 Posted 11 April, 2011 Jaidi please. Anyone else winning (Adam, Jose, Alex) and there's a greater chance of them being poached by a Prem club in the summer. Less attention the better.
scotty Posted 11 April, 2011 Posted 11 April, 2011 Puncheon please. Anyone else winning (Adam, Jose, Alex) and there's a greater chance of them being poached by a Prem club in the summer. Less attention the better. edit
LGTL Posted 11 April, 2011 Posted 11 April, 2011 Jaidi please. Anyone else winning (Adam, Jose, Alex) and there's a greater chance of them being poached by a Prem club in the summer. Less attention the better. I'm not too sure whether anyone else outside the world of Southampton FC gives two hoots about who wins our player of the year!
LVSaint Posted 11 April, 2011 Posted 11 April, 2011 I'm not too sure whether anyone else outside the world of Southampton FC gives two hoots about who wins our player of the year! Not sure I really care either.
Badger Posted 11 April, 2011 Posted 11 April, 2011 I will cast my vote for Pulis. Without his contribution we would be where we are today. Or that of Tommy Forecast. If however either are barred due to a technicality, such as not having actually played, then its between Lallana,Fonte and Jaidi. The next two/three matches might of course sway it.
