Micky Posted 9 April, 2011 Posted 9 April, 2011 Well that's that then - best lock this thread now. If only all threads were so cut and dried...!
Colinjb Posted 9 April, 2011 Posted 9 April, 2011 Absolutely. One of the first names on the teamsheet, surely.
Ohio Saint Posted 9 April, 2011 Posted 9 April, 2011 when is the court hearing? Oh come on! It wasn't handbag thieving (BWP et all) or rape (Moran)
Dazza82 Posted 9 April, 2011 Posted 9 April, 2011 Barnard 16 goals Lambert 18 goals Good partnership, when was the last time we had good pairing like that? Rasiak and Jones? Wouldn't really call them a partnership.
benjii Posted 9 April, 2011 Posted 9 April, 2011 Some Orient fan on 6-0-6 is saying Barnard done a swear in front of their family stand when he scored.
Saint_Jonny Posted 9 April, 2011 Posted 9 April, 2011 Some Orient fan on 6-0-6 is saying Barnard done a swear in front of their family stand when he scored. Oh noes!!!
thegaffer Posted 9 April, 2011 Posted 9 April, 2011 the best striker in the division for losing his marker to recieve a pass IMHO
benjii Posted 9 April, 2011 Posted 9 April, 2011 Now the facile numpties are banging on about the FA "setting a precedent" with Rooney.
Saint Posted 9 April, 2011 Posted 9 April, 2011 Some Orient fan on 6-0-6 is saying Barnard done a swear in front of their family stand when he scored. I read this on their forum. The guy also referred to Saints as 'vile' which I really don't get. What's vile about us?
benjii Posted 9 April, 2011 Posted 9 April, 2011 I read this on their forum. The guy also referred to Saints as 'vile' which I really don't get. What's vile about us? It's evident that teams at this level don't like it when big clubs come down. TBH, I don't blame them. Can you imagine half of SMS being filled with away fans?
Kingsland Nick Posted 9 April, 2011 Posted 9 April, 2011 Now the facile numpties are banging on about the FA "setting a precedent" with Rooney. Barnard was booked for his goal celebration, so the referee saw the incident and dealt with it.
Saint Posted 9 April, 2011 Posted 9 April, 2011 I get the impression that most people supporters of other teams hate Barnard as they see him as a thug, and I always see them complaining of him diving and appealing to the ref. This just makes me like him even more though, and glad that he's on our side.
Deppo Posted 9 April, 2011 Posted 9 April, 2011 This thread is better than the one of the same name on the Orient message board, which has one post that simply reads: What a ****.
scotty Posted 9 April, 2011 Posted 9 April, 2011 I get the impression that most people supporters of other teams hate Barnard as they see him as a thug, and I always see them complaining of him diving and appealing to the ref. You can take the boy out of romford, but you cant take romford etc etc..... and agreed, Id much rather have him in the tent plssing out than outside the tent plssing in.
Appy Posted 9 April, 2011 Posted 9 April, 2011 I love having players that other teams hate. They probably think we're vile because we are better than them and beat them.
brmbrm Posted 9 April, 2011 Posted 9 April, 2011 ]...underrated. Discuss[/b]. Do you realise what enormous sort of arrogant c*kc you make youself sound? Discuss.
Appy Posted 9 April, 2011 Posted 9 April, 2011 Maybe the guy on the Leyton Orient forum should get a 2 week ban for calling him a ****?
Dibden Purlieu Saint Posted 9 April, 2011 Author Posted 9 April, 2011 (edited) Do you realise what enormous sort of arrogant c*kc you make youself sound? Discuss. Kinda bit confused of where this has come from. Edit: Just read through some of your posts, you seem to like causing arguments which explains the above. Why don't you turn your computer off and go hit your wife or whatever your past times are. Edited 9 April, 2011 by Dibden Purlieu Saint
forever a red and white Posted 9 April, 2011 Posted 9 April, 2011 (edited) Barney had a bad time at Orient got stick and gave some back, as a fan or Orient you hate, Lee is a bit of a volatile character but from a Saints point of view great celebration. Swearing mya be a little off but don't try telling us that there is no form of swearing from anyone in the Orient stand of swearing. Game is gone. Three Points. Move on. doddisalegend Posted 9 April, 2011 Posted 9 April, 2011 ...underrated. Discuss. By who? I haven't meet a saints fan who didn't rate him. Didn't Barnard have a loan spell at Orient when he was at spurs that didn't go very well? Which might explain his slightly over the top goal celebration..........
Saint_clark Posted 9 April, 2011 Posted 9 April, 2011 I think fans rate Barnard very highly, actually. As for him swearing in front of the family stand - from those pics above, the people sat in there don't seem too respectful either.
Matthew Le God Posted 9 April, 2011 Posted 9 April, 2011 Didn't Barnard have a loan spell at Orient when he was at spurs that didn't go very well? Which might explain his slightly over the top goal celebration.......... I'd imagine he is also under a massive amount of stress at the moment with the upcoming court case next week.

Didn't Barnard have a loan spell at Orient when he was at spurs that didn't go very well? Which might explain his slightly over the top goal celebration.......... I know quite a few who feel he is just an additional cog, and when we talk about our most important players his name never comes up. But I think with the amount of work he gets through and great finishing he really is a great asset to have.
Lighthouse Posted 9 April, 2011 Posted 9 April, 2011 I think fans rate Barnard very highly, actually. As for him swearing in front of the family stand - from those pics above, the people sat in there don't seem too respectful either. Quite. I never realised families in Leyton consist entirely of 19 stone adults in their 30s, either.
latter day saint Posted 9 April, 2011 Posted 9 April, 2011 Quite. I never realised families in Leyton consist entirely of 19 stone adults in their 30s, either. i hope Barney proves unpopular with opposition fans for the rest of the season.
saints-cris Posted 9 April, 2011 Posted 9 April, 2011 He wouldnt have given it back for no reason. Hes allowed to give it back if they gave him abuse. Get over it Orient.
suewhistle Posted 9 April, 2011 Posted 9 April, 2011 Quite. I never realised families in Leyton consist entirely of 19 stone adults in their 30s, either. Bastard! I just drank some of my beer through my nose!;-)
Pugwash Posted 9 April, 2011 Posted 9 April, 2011 What's the strapping on his left knee all about? visible in a few of the photos on the OS. and above...
niceandfriendly Posted 9 April, 2011 Posted 9 April, 2011 Noticed today how barney finds his "he's wanted by scotland yard" chant amusing early in the first half as he was near the touchline. Brilliant performance again today, it'd be a huge blow if we don't have him after his hearing.
niceandfriendly Posted 9 April, 2011 Posted 9 April, 2011 What's the strapping on his left knee all about? visible in a few of the photos on the OS. and above... i've noticed a few players with that, lallana last week for example. new technology of some sort?
John Boy Saint Posted 9 April, 2011 Posted 9 April, 2011 Few lads in front of us were not too impressed with him: when he slotted the second they were on their toes for the exit in disgust!!
benjii Posted 9 April, 2011 Posted 9 April, 2011 i've noticed a few players with that, lallana last week for example. new technology of some sort? Yeah, think it is preventative/performance enhancing rather than necessarily remedial. Bale seems to wear them too.
John Boy Saint Posted 9 April, 2011 Posted 9 April, 2011 Bale's look like callipers (not to be taken the insensitive way).
Viking Saint Posted 10 April, 2011 Posted 10 April, 2011 Muted celebrations from Lee... there remains a monumental hypocrisy and double standards that fans can shout and scream whatever they like at players without fear of retribution or punishment, and yet if a player responds in kind, there's a campaign to hang, draw and quarter them......
thegaffer Posted 10 April, 2011 Posted 10 April, 2011 Its a healing strap designed in Tokyo. “The Kinesio Taping Method is designed to facilitate the body’s natural healing process while allowing support and stability to muscles and joints without restricting the body’s range of motion.” What's the strapping on his left knee all about? visible in a few of the photos on the OS. and above...
farawaysaint Posted 10 April, 2011 Posted 10 April, 2011 I think Barnard is massively overrated... There's no chance he's better than Frank Lampard
alpine_saint Posted 10 April, 2011 Posted 10 April, 2011 Our player of the season, I reckon. He's scored some very important goals.
Pugwash Posted 10 April, 2011 Posted 10 April, 2011 Its a healing strap designed in Tokyo. “The Kinesio Taping Method is designed to facilitate the body’s natural healing process while allowing support and stability to muscles and joints without restricting the body’s range of motion.” Hmmm, have to get me some of them. Do they work on all body parts?
John B Posted 10 April, 2011 Posted 10 April, 2011 I think Barnard is an excellent League 1 Striker and will probably be a good Championship Striker He would be even better if his first touch was better as would have been James Beattie Whilst watching the game on Tuesday I noticed that Barnard on quite a few occassions lost the ball because of poor ball control On the otherhand Rickie Lamberts first touch is extremely good
Psycrow Posted 10 April, 2011 Posted 10 April, 2011 there remains a monumental hypocrisy and double standards that fans can shout and scream whatever they like at players without fear of retribution or punishment, and yet if a player responds in kind, there's a campaign to hang, draw and quarter them...... While I don't disagree with you, I think the point is that the fans are only ****ing off one person by shouting at a player. The player is ****ing off hundreds, maybe thousands of fans (although admittedly not the case at Leyton Orient) and could incite a riot. There's definitely hypocrisy and double standards in complaining about him swearing into the family stand when the family stand is swearing back at him though.
