Steeleye Saint Posted 9 April, 2011 Share Posted 9 April, 2011 We can afford to lose two of our last 7 - and with our superior goal difference could draw one too and still go up! Nervy game but well pleased with the result.
Ohio Saint Posted 9 April, 2011 Share Posted 9 April, 2011 Is this necessary ? I have sh*tloads to do on my house after the winter we had, and we had good weather for it today. Why cant you just enjoy the win ? Um....Well, you just made a massive indication of just how committed you really are to the Saints in that post. NY Saint Posted 9 April, 2011 Share Posted 9 April, 2011 Great result. Very pleased with that, it could have gone so wrong today. Not letting Huddersfield and the MK Dons' late recoveries cloud our great result, because we now can gain automatic on our own efforts and not have to worry about others. Delighted. Planning my trip home for the Walsall game - tickets arrived already. Need to make sure I don't forget them so have them stapled to my passport. Ohio Saint Posted 9 April, 2011 Share Posted 9 April, 2011 (edited) Oh, do grow up. Grow up? You did house maintenance rather than keep a track of this game!! What kind of interest does that show? I have a house too. I have also had a severe winter. This is Saints for chrissakes! Priorities!!! PS Saying "Grow up" does NOT make you look all grown up yourself. SaintBobby Posted 9 April, 2011 Share Posted 9 April, 2011 I think we still need about 28 points to guarantee promotion. Lol. Nervy 2nd half but awesome win. Fonte was superb. Bit odd to end the game with four centre backs and no wingers, but all good stuff!

Lallana's Left Peg Posted 9 April, 2011 Share Posted 9 April, 2011 Adkins post-match: - excellent victory - defended well and comfortably, dealt with crosses very well - credit to all the players - magnificent support, a joy to have them at the game - their goals rightly ruled offside - we could have had 3 or 4 goals in the first half - feels good to be 2nd, we just need to keep going - we know the supporters are behind us and will drive us on - players talking in the dressing room about how good the support is - Dickson done very well again, runs himself into the ground for the team - Rochdale will be tough - Lallana was good to go for 15mins today, but not needed - we'll make a judgement call on Tuesday but we won't risk losing him for rest of season - Happy that even with injuries, other players can come in and contribute. Window Cleaner Posted 9 April, 2011 Share Posted 9 April, 2011 Yep! All players have a suspension clean-sheet now i think? I believe it gets wiped tomorrow. No not wiped clean but they now have the rest of the season (7 matches then) to not get 15 bookings. In theory if Deano got booked in each of the next 6 he could be suspended for the last game and I suppose the first game of next season.

benjii Posted 9 April, 2011 Share Posted 9 April, 2011 (edited) Back then it was true within one point. 27 were needed to guarantee promotion. Easy to be smug after-the-fact. TBF, the question was not: "Could someone please calculate the number of points that will mathematicaly guarantee promotion". And even if it had been, you got it wrong. Which showed your "28" to be ill-considered and ludicrously silly, especially when coupled with a dig at people making the emminently more sensible suggestion of something around 20. StD Posted 9 April, 2011 Share Posted 9 April, 2011 Just back from the game. Fantastic day (despite having to stay relatively controlled in the home stand). Dickson was my man of the match, barnard and fonte not far behind. Dickson and Barnard never stopped running. A few heart stopping moments (their two goals ruled offsite and a few goalmouth scrambles which fortunately went our way). Our first goal didn't look offside to me. hasper57saint Posted 9 April, 2011 Share Posted 9 April, 2011 Couldn't get today so had to keep a constant eye on Gillette Soccer saturday. My S-I-L (a Posh STH) sat alongside me. The badinage was great especially as Mrs.Hasper got the 'First' in the National,we won and Posh drew. Can't get much better than that. I'm pouring a Jim Beam on the rocks now to celebrate. Draino76 Posted 9 April, 2011 Share Posted 9 April, 2011 Great result. Thanks to the Saints fans on the tube that gave a Saints badge and a couple of quid to Draino03 to sing OWTS. 03 was shy at first; as it was his 1st away game but he was getting well into it by kickoff! He plays OWTS amongst other ditties on the piano so we showed him a new version what he loved today. Cheers!xxx

kwsaint Posted 9 April, 2011 Share Posted 9 April, 2011 Just back. Well ground out win. Fonte was superb. Fair play to Orient who gave it a good go in the second half, but the defence was excellent and Davis made two excellent stops. Noise from the Saints fans was superb. Sunburnt.
