I wouldn't want him back, i think we'll be able to do better if we get promoted.

It's very odd how the rumour started about him causing Sturrock problems has stuck, even though several sources, including Sturrock made it clear that it wasn't him and gave fairly heavy hints about who it was (I think it was all about a long standing, senior player, who at the time could only be Dodd). It's not often scurrilous internet rumours that are clearly rubbish hang around like that. By the way did you hear about Kevin Phillips wife and Chris Marsden/Brett Ormerod/some salesman/another made up person?

Lets get Brett back as well it'll be like 2003 all over again or Blackpool on Sunday , Hard to believe they'll still a prem strike force 8 years later

well....Beattie is now 33 and Ormerod will be 35 in October..nice memories maybe but I wouldn't think they'd be able to re-live their former glories..do you?

Norris is going to skates I think.

Thats a shame if true, both good players and would add depth in strengh to our midfield.

Skates have probably offered him silly money lol

Talking about frees, Both Neil Danns (Palace) and David Norris (Ipswich captain) are both out of contract at the end of the season and i think we should try to get them

We were heavily linked to Danns at the same time as Brian Stock was on Facebook in Jan 2010, I even followed him on Twitter on the off-chance. Does a lot of DJing, otherwise very boring.

I think we could do a lot better. Would be happy for him to come back and be prepared to earn his place in the team. I can imagine he would enjoy being here again, he always was a confidence player.

I think I would be being sentimental if I thought this was a good idea. It sounds good, but then I realised that his exploits down here were 8 or so years ago and at 33 I think he is most definitely past his best.

4 years ago, yes, now I don't think so.

Just because he did a great job in 2003 does not automatically mean he would repeat it???? its highly unlikely he'd make any sort of impact. Fook it lets get Marsden and Fabrice back as well eh???????

What's the best Lambert and Barnard have managed in the Championship?

I wouldn't suggest we sign another Barnard or Lambert either, though it's possible one or both might score more at that level than nugent.

If it weren't for the redundancy of his technical abilities, Beattie would be a much better proposition as he's been prolific at that level and above.

Back to Nugent, he's not significantly better than i expect our current strikers to be, he doesn't offer any outstanding physical or technical attributes that our squad is lacking and his wages will be stupid. We should either pick up an out of favour first teamer from the premier league on loan or an ebanks-blake-alike from one of the top teams youth systems, or just pick up another league one high flyer unproven in the championship but with attributes like pace that we haven't got. Raid Posh or Huddersfield, whichever team doesn't come up with us.
