Goalie66 Posted 6 April, 2011 Posted 6 April, 2011 Both Le God Third Coming and I did laugh when the Northam burst into a refrain of "Come on you Reds" last night. Fortunately there were so few Charlton fans to applaud our "defection" Why have they not adpoted "Come on you Stripe" or are those congregated just unable to change chants irrespective of our kit. That said our support was great again last night all around the ground.
Saint_clark Posted 6 April, 2011 Posted 6 April, 2011 I just change it to come on you Saints. But yeah, I do clench my teeth when I hear it.
Jones91 Posted 6 April, 2011 Posted 6 April, 2011 Yeah, we should of changed all of the seats to white for this season as well
RedAndWhite91 Posted 6 April, 2011 Posted 6 April, 2011 At so many games this season we have sung "Red Army" when the opposition team are in a red kit. It's embarrassing, although I think "White Army" might be frowned upon by the PC brigade.
a1ex2001 Posted 6 April, 2011 Posted 6 April, 2011 Everyone is just warming up for next season when the stripes return, if we hadn't sung it for a season most fans would have forgotten the words or doubled the pace or something.
doddisalegend Posted 6 April, 2011 Posted 6 April, 2011 I thought we were all chanting red'n'white now?
Griffo Posted 6 April, 2011 Posted 6 April, 2011 At Bristol Rovers we were singing black army. Then someone popped up and shouted Zulu army.
JonnyLove Posted 6 April, 2011 Posted 6 April, 2011 Saints play in Red and white our actual colours have always and should be white and Red. Never understood why people do Come on you reds instead of come on you saints.
Matthew Le God Posted 6 April, 2011 Posted 6 April, 2011 "Come on you Saints" Would be the best option.
Goalie66 Posted 6 April, 2011 Author Posted 6 April, 2011 FFS does it really matter? Yes if it gives the opposition the impression they have a large vocal support!!!
Beachcombers Windowsill Posted 6 April, 2011 Posted 6 April, 2011 Yes if it gives the opposition the impression they have a large vocal support!!! It's usually pretty obvious where the backing is coming from to be fair.
Goalie66 Posted 6 April, 2011 Author Posted 6 April, 2011 It's usually pretty obvious where the backing is coming from to be fair. Unfortunately it does not demonstrate that those initiating the chants are blessed with high IQ's
Goalie66 Posted 6 April, 2011 Author Posted 6 April, 2011 FFS!!! White is a shade, not a colour! honestly! Well that depends. In the visible spectrum it is the sum of all colours. On a colour chart from Dulux it is ....white. not a shade. If it was a shade what would the colours that made the shade ? Bored !!
SNSUN Posted 6 April, 2011 Posted 6 April, 2011 I always thought "come on you reds to be rather vulgar. 'Twould make the shirts all sticky Yeah, we should of changed all of the seats to white for this season as well Or white with a red stripe for each seat. Unless it's too expensive. Cortese out.
Golden Balls Posted 6 April, 2011 Posted 6 April, 2011 Both Le God Third Coming and I did laugh when the Northam burst into a refrain of "Come on you Reds" last night. That said our support was great again last night all around the ground. I assume by 'they' you are refering to The Northam? And I assume that as there was great support all around the ground, that it was only 'they' (the Northam) chanting this, and the rest were chanting something else? I wasn't there last night but tend to chant 'sash army' and 'come on you Saints'. Doesn't seem to catch on.
Rory Posted 6 April, 2011 Posted 6 April, 2011 Saints fans have sung c'mon you reds since my dear old grandad was a lad.
JustMike Posted 6 April, 2011 Posted 6 April, 2011 FFS does it really matter? this. A new pedant award methinks
