EBS1980 Posted 14 July, 2011 Posted 14 July, 2011 I personally think the graphics on the OS with the white background with stripes down then middle and the black background with stripes down the milddle will be how our home and away kit look.
Saint Garrett Posted 14 July, 2011 Posted 14 July, 2011 Aprt from its thick stripes with white sleeves, cosmos colour and away is like brazil kit.
Pilchards Posted 14 July, 2011 Posted 14 July, 2011 Aprt from its thick stripes with white sleeves, cosmos colour and away is like brazil kit. with a Saints badge on and aap3 written across it, while the back will have this strange shape but it does look nice haha.
Mozz Posted 14 July, 2011 Posted 14 July, 2011 Hah, well that confirms the story about the shirt printing going on at the moment anyway... I was in Arsenal's store at The Emirates on the weekend, they have SIX heat presses for putting numbers on in their megastore, makes our one or two behind that curtain look amateur! Mind you there wasn't a single person buying anything... But then they can get their shirts pretty much anywhere. Think we have three there. Always seems a little inefficient to have the three when there only ever seems to be a maxium of two manned, normally only one and a massive queue for the printing on match days.
trousers Posted 14 July, 2011 Posted 14 July, 2011 Why the fascination and speculation on here for white sleeves ? Because someone whose daughter works at SMS posted last week that it was "thick stripes with White sleeves" Which makes it a cast iron certainty of course... :-)
The9 Posted 14 July, 2011 Posted 14 July, 2011 I'd just like to point and laugh a the 500 losers who've pre-ordered something that they have absolutely no idea of the appearance of... http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2391978,00.html Sorry, I mean "committed fans", at least the OS hasn't actually started mocking people for their bizarre Saints purchases yet. I must have missed the bit about it being thick stripes with white sleeves, was it on this thread ? And what about the "black bits on the sleeves", people ? I still find it difficult to believe that nobody credible with a decent source has managed to come up with anything tangible yet.
The9 Posted 14 July, 2011 Posted 14 July, 2011 Think we have three there. Always seems a little inefficient to have the three when there only ever seems to be a maxium of two manned, normally only one and a massive queue for the printing on match days. Fair enough, I've only ever noticed one, but I was told there were two. I can do one in about 3 minutes with an iron which is a lot less efficient, but then I'm not doing replicas.
The9 Posted 14 July, 2011 Posted 14 July, 2011 (edited) Because someone whose daughter works at SMS posted last week that it was "thick stripes with White sleeves" Which makes it a cast iron certainty of course... :-) If it is, B Rabbit's mock up would be the one (with the additional white around the aap3 logo, and presumably black shorts) : But it would also contradict pretty much EVERYTHING we've heard about the kit except that one statement. Saint Garrett Posted 14 July, 2011 Posted 14 July, 2011 Plus thats exactly Huddersfields kit bu different colours.

Pretty sure thuy in that pic is Huddersfields Peter Clarke (the c*nt).
Hatch Posted 14 July, 2011 Posted 14 July, 2011 It has to be a brand new design, it just has to be. To leave the 'launch' this late and then it just being the same as someones elses, but in red and white , would just about be the most stupid thing ever.
The9 Posted 14 July, 2011 Posted 14 July, 2011 Plus thats exactly Huddersfields kit but different colours. It is, because the original mock up was a photoshop of the Huddersfield kit. It's on about page 14 of this thread. I'm pretty sure we have a better Umbro deal than Huddersfield, in that we are dealing with Umbro directly, not via a third party local supplier, so I'd expect our kit to be more "bespoke" - though given the uninspiring use of templates for clubs so far I'd be surprised to see anything genuinely "new".

Colinjb Posted 14 July, 2011 Posted 14 July, 2011 And the Unique / non-teamwear kits : New York Cosmos blackout That. Is. Outstanding.
The9 Posted 14 July, 2011 Posted 14 July, 2011 Just noticed that the NY Cosmos kit style (not to be confused with the Teamwear Cosmos style) has the same shirt template as the Blackburn A and Linfield A with slightly different collars. That might allow for a striped front, a black element on the shoulder AND a white sleeve as described by various people, as well as having the Cosmos collar (or a variation). So it would actually fit all the descriptions I'd give any credibility to so far. Or it might just be the Clifton, and others are absolutely making it up, boringly. .
The9 Posted 14 July, 2011 Posted 14 July, 2011 That. Is. Outstanding. Shame they're never going to wear it in a match !
The9 Posted 14 July, 2011 Posted 14 July, 2011 when is the kit out/people moan about it..? People will start moaning about it on Wednesday next week, 20th July, when it is revealed. I personally would like to start moaning about the complete lack of mention of the away kit... now.
The9 Posted 14 July, 2011 Posted 14 July, 2011 In addition to the kits already launched (above), we can expect other kit launches from : Saints H Saints A Wales H Wales A and possibly Northern Ireland H - as they're still using the 2010 Saints away kit template as far as I can tell. Pretty sure everyone else (including Huddersfield, who didn't even have an Umbro deal announced until May) has their new shirt for 2011/12 already out there, and the international sides will want to wait until they actually have a match to launch kits - Wales have a new badge and have already come in for criticism for changing it immediately after the last kit launch, so will wait as late as possible before changing it again, and Northern Ireland aren't likely to have a different deal to everyone else so must have a new home kit soon too.

Why are they losers for pre-ordering? Because it's not something you'd do? I reckon there's something a bit exciting about just having it turn up in the post not knowing what it'll look like. Let's face it, it's not going to be absolutely abysmal is it? Plus some people buy every home shirt anyway so what difference does it make? And for the record, yes I pre-ordered it

Turkish Posted 14 July, 2011 Posted 14 July, 2011 The serecy really is quite pathetic. I bet Jordan Sibley and the other lemons in the offices at SMS towers are p*ssing themselves laughing at all you mugs wetting yourself over the new kit. I really dont get what the club have to gain by making it such a big deal nor why grown men in their thrities and older have spent the last couple of months getting erections over what it might look like. It's all rather sad.

Joneth Posted 14 July, 2011 Posted 14 July, 2011 At what point has this thread been a load of blokes creaming themselves over a kit like some seem to want to make out? What the kit looks like is reasonably interesting enough for quite a few people that its worth a bit of discussion and speculation. No one is wetting themselves though
Turkish Posted 14 July, 2011 Posted 14 July, 2011 At what point has this thread been a load of blokes creaming themselves over a kit like some seem to want to make out? What the kit looks like is reasonably interesting enough for quite a few people that its worth a bit of discussion and speculation. No one is wetting themselves though what the kit looks is vaguely interesting i guess. 29 pages of what others clubs kits look like and what ours might look like based on nothing but this and guess work is not. And also my point was, i really dont understand what the club has to gain by all the secrecy and by delaying the release so long. Other than amusing themselves by teasing the fans, as if this forum is anything to go by, a lot of our fan base are like 14 year olds with their first copy on Mayfair.
The9 Posted 14 July, 2011 Posted 14 July, 2011 I don't mind them keeping it a secret for a bit in a bid to build interest. I sort of mind them failing to spread out the launch of the two new kits by not launching one at the end of last season when there was a ton of excitement and interest around the club, waiting a month to even mention it, asking people for pre-orders for something they can't even see (I'd love to know how many pre-orders there were last season) and putting themselves in a corner by not launching any kit in time for the pre-season games which would have helped market the shirt. But even that only bothers me because it's just crappy business practice, not because I'm particularly bothered what we actually wear (within reason). Working in sports retail for 18 months made me completely inert to the hype around kit launches because I knew how far in advance the designs were approved for some clubs. The whole excitement thing wears off the second it comes out anyway. But I think the club has misjudged the relationship between the hype and the sales, especially regarding pre-orders. 500 is a pathetic number of pre-orders for a new home shirt for a club averaging 23,000 home fans, especially in comparison to the sales of the last one. It's entirely down to the unknown design factor, but we'll see how it sells when it's out this time next week.

I believe this is covered by the Forum Rules, it says something about not posting on threads you're not interested in. And "vaguely interesting" is probably about right. But I think the gradual detective work has been pretty interesting as well. I agree with you on the delay stuff, but then I've been told the original plan was for May and July releases, which means that (again) the club is making it up as they go along. I genuinely don't think anyone can be getting much satisfaction from knowing what it looks like and not being able to tell anyone anyway. It's a "claim to lame" at best.

You are only "vaguely interested" you say this yourself, yet have posted dozens of mock ups on here. Anyway, my point is valid, regardless of if i give a toss if when and where the new kit is released and what it looks like. What do the club have to gain by being so secrative and late? All i can imagine is that they are sitting in their offices laughing at everyone getting excited about it. There is no business reason to do this as not many people can afford £500 for a season ticket plus £100 upwards for new kits in one month and well all know home and away shirts are a must for any geniune fan in modern football. The pre ordering thing is just a joke, i really cant believe anyone in their right mind, other than our super fans would sign up for this, it's mental.
