The9 Posted 14 May, 2011 Posted 14 May, 2011 Then why did Saints win this game 3-1?... Imagine how many we'd won by if they'd worn the dark grey shorts and socks that were MEANT to go with that kit.
FalkirkSaint Posted 14 May, 2011 Posted 14 May, 2011 How do you insert an image on this? I've clicked on "Insert Image" and entered my URL and nothing is coming up?
The9 Posted 14 May, 2011 Posted 14 May, 2011 You want this link : I right clicked your pic, loaded the Photobucket page and then clicked the "direct link" button on the right hand side to get the right URL copied. The other URL linked to the whole page, I think.
Hatch Posted 14 May, 2011 Posted 14 May, 2011 Then why did Saints win this game 3-1? Saints stopped scoring after they changed at halftime and they got their goal in the second half. Conclusive proof! Wow, a floating head!!
The9 Posted 15 May, 2011 Posted 15 May, 2011 (edited) New Sunderland away was a fake, so I've removed it... and reposted it below. On the bright side, at least we're not getting something like this (to be unveiled on May 17th) and horrendous mocked up Barca kit. Edited 15 May, 2011 by The9
proevosaints Posted 15 May, 2011 Posted 15 May, 2011 Been confirmed the sunderland one is a fake, its a puma template, from african cup of nations
doggface Posted 15 May, 2011 Posted 15 May, 2011 I like the sunderland away, even the colour! reminds me a little of the current barca away which was a grower. Would love that in yellow with blue trim.
Badger Posted 15 May, 2011 Posted 15 May, 2011 Away kit using Canada template Good design but it looks a bit too 'Leeds Utd' in that colour scheme. Chevrons will be in vogue next season but I hope we avoid them as it appears just to be aping the mancs football fashion. I hate crappy Brazil wannabe shirts far more than blue bits. Notts County away this season, made by Nike, yellow with green trim, made them look like the least imaginative team ever (which ironically the team perpertuated). The "we want to look like Brazil" look should have been banned after Crystal Palace did it in the late 80s. You've got a weird relationship with Saints kit history, hating red sleeves for the 2005 relegation despite other teams in red sleeves doing very well season in, season out (and Saints themselves doing well with red sleeves in the 1980s), and not wanting blue in any Saints shirt despite the notable blueness of the trim on the yellow 1976 Cup Final kit. Yes, Palace in the early 80's, whose style of play was the most opposite of the great Brazil in c1970. Sorry I don't share with this obsession for yellow and blue despite 1976 ( and yes, I was there). Our 'traditional' away kit was yellow(or amber) and black. THe yellow/blue was a 1970's fashion that we followed. Great at the time but not all the time. I like the sunderland away, even the colour! Would love that in yellow with blue trim. I think we have done yellow shirts, blue shorts to death ..and all black, as just about every other club has as well now.Watching Saints v Sheff Weds at SMS could not help thinking how boring and predictable Weds' kit was in that yellow/blue comination.Surely we can do better ?
Dazza82 Posted 15 May, 2011 Posted 15 May, 2011 I think it will be similar to WBA kit Other contenders could be Huddersfields Sunderlands
The9 Posted 15 May, 2011 Posted 15 May, 2011 I think you may be right about the fake. It also makes no sense to have black shorts home and away.
doggface Posted 15 May, 2011 Posted 15 May, 2011 That's a shame I liked that! 1st time I've been done by a fake
The9 Posted 15 May, 2011 Posted 15 May, 2011 (edited) I think it will be similar to WBA kit Can't see the West Brom kit being the template as that's the 2010/11 Sunderland shirt style as well. In fact West Brom's 2011/12 kit will probably be the same as the Sunderland one above - and ours can't be the same as that. Not convinced on the Huddersfield one as it's so generic and teamwear-like. The rumour about the Cosmos collar at least makes it different, even of all we get is the Sunderland kit with the stripes reversed and different collar/cuffs. Edited 15 May, 2011 by The9
The9 Posted 15 May, 2011 Posted 15 May, 2011 That's a shame I liked that! 1st time I've been done by a fake Looking at it with my cynical eyes on, Umbro don't tend to make skintight shirts, it's not a template that's been seen before (I could't think where I'd seen the triangle cuffs before, but there it is!) and the Umbro logo is way too big on the shirt.
Crab Lungs Posted 15 May, 2011 Posted 15 May, 2011 I think it will be similar to WBA kit Other contenders could be Huddersfields Sunderlands I can only hope it's near Huddersfields, the others are horrendously ugly
The9 Posted 15 May, 2011 Posted 15 May, 2011 I can only hope it's near Huddersfields, the others are horrendously ugly I think they're basically all fine, though I'd want our stripes to be at least slightly different from Sunderland's.
Crab Lungs Posted 15 May, 2011 Posted 15 May, 2011 I think they're basically all fine, though I'd want our stripes to be at least slightly different from Sunderland's. For me, they're revolting. Well, the WBA one is boring, the Sunderland one makes me want to vomit (the collar, the back of the shirt etc)... Hudders is minimalistic, but smart. I'd love us to keep white shorts/socks to go with it too, though that'd be ripping their kit completely off!
iansums Posted 16 May, 2011 Posted 16 May, 2011 I like the WBA kit, nice and simple classic design, always prefer a collar. But then again I am a boring ****.
saintstr1 Posted 16 May, 2011 Posted 16 May, 2011 Stick with the Sash kit it is ultra lucky for us and might get us a second consecutive promotion.
scott_saints Posted 16 May, 2011 Posted 16 May, 2011 No one knows what the kit will be. That is my input.
rooney Posted 16 May, 2011 Posted 16 May, 2011 No one knows what the kit will be. That is my input. You are wrong. I know somebody who does and who has already posted the fact on this thread.
trousers Posted 16 May, 2011 Posted 16 May, 2011 You are wrong. I know somebody who does and who has already posted the fact on this thread. Which post number? Thanks :-) (Or, if you don't want to specify the post number, the two posts either side with suffice. Cheers)
doggface Posted 16 May, 2011 Posted 16 May, 2011 Different strokes and all that. I like it it's original, that strip as a whole is lovely IMO
Hatch Posted 16 May, 2011 Posted 16 May, 2011 the cosmos style cock collar is truly awful. . This. Having the whole team wearing cock necklaces would just be too embarrasing to bear.
The9 Posted 16 May, 2011 Posted 16 May, 2011 This. Having the whole team wearing cock necklaces would just be too embarrasing to bear. Well, it might be red on a central red stripe, so it would barely be noticable anyway. And I have to say I've been looking at it for about 6 months since the Cosmos kit launch and have never regarded it as looking particularly like a wang, so really anyone who thinks it is must be massively obsessed with penises. NB This will be the standard banter position for the next season, so please read and digest.
The9 Posted 16 May, 2011 Posted 16 May, 2011 Which post number? Thanks :-) (Or, if you don't want to specify the post number, the two posts either side with suffice. Cheers) My money would be on the one quite near #s 39 and 41, seeing as I've based all of the subsequent photoshops I've done on that information. I'd actually forgotten that it wasn't the OP, so for the past 4 or 5 pages when I've said "the information from the OP" I meant "the information from that post".

dubai_phil Posted 16 May, 2011 Posted 16 May, 2011 I sawe Super League on Sky News last night. We should deffo go for that Hull KR kit next season. Keeps the Sash and brings in the stripes. But ditch the stripes on the shorts that's ghey http://www.gettyimages.com/detail/112303830/Getty-Images-Sport Heck you could even have the sleeves with stripes. Wow that'll look good

Wow that'll look good A candy-stripe diagonal style was mocked up about 6 months ago on here. Looks alright, but there's a lot more leeway in rugby shirt designs (esp. Rugby League) than in football shirts. And anyway, we're getting stripes back. Edited 16 May, 2011 by The9 in not it
Saint Garrett Posted 16 May, 2011 Posted 16 May, 2011 Quite like that. There's only so much you can do with red and white stripes. As long as it doesn't have hideous bits of black like the one we had a few years ago when Bale was playing for us. I'd prefer more stripes than just one or two.

Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 16 May, 2011 Posted 16 May, 2011 I still can't believe we didn't take the opportunity to show off the new kit at the last game, even if we didn't actually wear it. I'm sure Lucy P. would've happily modelled it for us...
The9 Posted 16 May, 2011 Posted 16 May, 2011 Despite it's simplicity it doesn't currently match any existing Umbro templates due to the stripe that goes right up the sleeve to the collar. Does look nice though, and the shorts and socks match likely styles.
bender Posted 16 May, 2011 Posted 16 May, 2011 Yes for me. Not a fan of the collars but they work when red.
TheMidfieldGeneral Posted 16 May, 2011 Posted 16 May, 2011 ^ Yes!!!! Finally a shirt with no black bits on it!!!! 8-)
The9 Posted 16 May, 2011 Posted 16 May, 2011 ^ Yes!!!! Finally a shirt with no black bits on it!!!! 8-) Pretty sure the numbers won't be red, white or blue. And what about that bit at the bottom of the badge ?
bender Posted 16 May, 2011 Posted 16 May, 2011 Does anyone know when the shirt will be announced and subesquently sold in the Saints store? I want to know if its before my birthday.
Cestrian Saint Posted 16 May, 2011 Posted 16 May, 2011 I hope not! I need to speak to my mate at Umbro, although after the slagging I got last year I'm not sure I should bother. I was told it was a sash last season and when I gave away some clues on the forum I was told I was full of ****.

ericofarabia Posted 17 May, 2011 Posted 17 May, 2011 Show me the way to go home, coz I'm tired and I want to go to bed (for a ****) As there's only half a football team, compared to the boys in - RED and WHITE STRIPES, BLACK shorts, RED socks, with a WHITE hoop round the top ....HEY!!! Don't mess with it!!
