benjamsandwich28 Posted 5 May, 2011 Posted 5 May, 2011 Possibly, haven't bothered to trawl through the thread, just what I had land on my lap
doggface Posted 5 May, 2011 Posted 5 May, 2011 Ha Ha yes that is the photoshopped Sunderland Home shirt from 2010/11. TOTAL FAKE
Dibden Purlieu Saint Posted 5 May, 2011 Posted 5 May, 2011 Sorry all, was trying to attach on my phone on the way home, obviously didn't work well.
Matthew Le God Posted 5 May, 2011 Posted 5 May, 2011 (edited) http://www.flickr.com/photos/62438095@N04/5690306899/ Try again... That is a photoshopped version of the Sunderland shirt. Edited 6 May, 2011 by Matthew Le God
doggface Posted 5 May, 2011 Posted 5 May, 2011 That is a photoshopped version of the new Sunderland shirt. The old Sunderland shirt you mean!
Cricketphilly Posted 6 May, 2011 Posted 6 May, 2011 No-one outside of the club/Umbro etc knows. Is that received wisdom in a marketing world?
Gemmel Posted 6 May, 2011 Posted 6 May, 2011 A little guess (And it is just that - not itk) ....Saints to wear the new kit on Sunday??
Cricketphilly Posted 6 May, 2011 Posted 6 May, 2011 A little guess (And it is just that - not itk) ....Saints to wear the new kit on Sunday?? Wouldn't be surprised
georgeweahscousin Posted 7 May, 2011 Posted 7 May, 2011 Not a particularly big fan of this but oh well My favourite so far.
doggface Posted 7 May, 2011 Posted 7 May, 2011 Wouldn't be surprised Would be great but highly unlikely. The os has confirmed in the preview saints to play in WHITE
St. Neil Posted 7 May, 2011 Posted 7 May, 2011 Hope it wont look like this, looks like Nolan is wearing a waistcoat. When stripes go bad
Liquidshokk Posted 7 May, 2011 Posted 7 May, 2011 Would be great but highly unlikely. The os has confirmed in the preview saints to play in WHITE Preview for SUNDAY?? really?
Badger Posted 8 May, 2011 Posted 8 May, 2011 Another new striped kit from Umbro now revealed at Huddersfield:
Colinjb Posted 8 May, 2011 Posted 8 May, 2011 Another new striped kit from Umbro now revealed at Huddersfield: Looks to be a very similar cut to our Sash shirt. Particularly the collar.
shurlock Posted 8 May, 2011 Posted 8 May, 2011 The white sleeves on the 'uddersfield shirt are just weird.
capitalsaint Posted 8 May, 2011 Posted 8 May, 2011 I like it. It's no sash, but I'm going to have to come to terms with never seeing that beautiful shirt again.
B Rabbit Posted 8 May, 2011 Posted 8 May, 2011 In that case then..... Sorry just a quick one as i can't be arsed or have time to do it properly!
Liquidshokk Posted 8 May, 2011 Posted 8 May, 2011 eh? The person you quoted was quoting someone who asked if it would be displayed Sunday, not the saturday that I believe was previewed as you describe
Smirking_Saint Posted 8 May, 2011 Posted 8 May, 2011 I like it. It's no sash, but I'm going to have to come to terms with never seeing that beautiful shirt again. This I love the sash, i hope we keep it tbh
SW11_Saint Posted 8 May, 2011 Posted 8 May, 2011 Hope it wont look like this, looks like Nolan is wearing a waistcoat. When stripes go bad My god that is AWFUL! Looks like he's wearing body armour.
theyin Posted 8 May, 2011 Posted 8 May, 2011 In that case then..... Sorry just a quick one as i can't be arsed or have time to do it properly! If we're heading away from the sash I doubt we're special enough to expect our own design so if another club has released their kit from the same manufacturer, then it is fair to assume that this will be our kit next season .....IMO
Cestrian Saint Posted 8 May, 2011 Posted 8 May, 2011 Worried about the jinx of plain sleeves! Teams who wear stripes and opt for a kit with plain sleeves have a habit of being relegated! It happened to us and numerous others.
Cestrian Saint Posted 8 May, 2011 Posted 8 May, 2011 I still think the kit design should be chosen by the fans. The club should produce 4 or 5 designs and the fans vote on which one they want - It's been done in the past. At the end of the day it's the fans who put their hands in their pockets and wear the shirts.
capitalsaint Posted 9 May, 2011 Posted 9 May, 2011 This I love the sash, i hope we keep it tbh Tell you what, if the new shirt turns out to be rubbish, how about we set up a new team? We could call it Southampton Phoenix or suchlike, storm through the leagues and eventually beat this lot of franchised non-traditionalists. It feels pretty good having new signings and the kit as my main Southampton-related concerns. How time flies!
The9 Posted 9 May, 2011 Posted 9 May, 2011 Looks to be a very similar cut to our Sash shirt. Particularly the collar. The collar is different as the button on the collar is a bog standard round one not the oddly-shaped Umbro Tailored ones, which is a small nod to the fact that the Huddersfield kit is based on an Umbro Teamwear template (the "Santos") and their kit is basically a different colour variation of a parks team kit (with a collar), because their "Umbro deal" is actually with a local sports kit provider. It's just the reversed version of this, in fact. . You'll also notice that Saints' sash kit has sleeves which end at the shoulder - this Huddersfield shirt has a form of "raglan" sleeves, in that the sleeve piece goes right up to the shoulder, rather than having the "T" stitching over the shoulder blade and around the armpit like the sash shirt. They also won't have the kind of detailing like the Saints shirt has with the little triangle pieces at the bottom seam on the sides, etc. As such, it's NOTHING like the Saints sash shirt, the pieces of material are completely different shapes. Pretty sure that generic Huddersfield shirt won't be anything like the Saints kit (other than stripey), we've got a proper Umbro kit deal - not to mention that on this thread we've got the OP mentioning the New York Cosmos style shirts.
The9 Posted 9 May, 2011 Posted 9 May, 2011 I still think the kit design should be chosen by the fans. The club should produce 4 or 5 designs and the fans vote on which one they want - It's been done in the past. At the end of the day it's the fans who put their hands in their pockets and wear the shirts. Whenever that's happened the original designs have ALL been gash and we've ended up with the "least crap".
doggface Posted 9 May, 2011 Posted 9 May, 2011 Whenever that's happened the original designs have ALL been gash and we've ended up with the "least crap". This. Umbro know what they are doing. Saints Apparell did not.
Son of Bob Posted 9 May, 2011 Posted 9 May, 2011 Does the way the grass was cut at SMS on Saturday give us a clue as to what to expect? I hope so!
Charlie Wayman Posted 9 May, 2011 Posted 9 May, 2011 Does the way the grass was cut at SMS on Saturday give us a clue as to what to expect? I hope so! Why would we want to play in Green? Except KD of course
Cestrian Saint Posted 9 May, 2011 Posted 9 May, 2011 Why would we want to play in Green? Except KD of course The away kit should be green and white. I've thought that for years. It worked for QPR and Norwich this season. ;-) The last colour that should appear on any Saints shirt is Blue!!!
bpsaint Posted 9 May, 2011 Posted 9 May, 2011 Whenever that's happened the original designs have ALL been gash and we've ended up with the "least crap". Would have to disagree with that, the 01-03 home kit that we voted on was class. Proper red and white stripes with no ugly panels and the like.

Big Bad Bob Posted 9 May, 2011 Posted 9 May, 2011 I still think the kit design should be chosen by the fans. The club should produce 4 or 5 designs and the fans vote on which one they want - It's been done in the past. At the end of the day it's the fans who put their hands in their pockets and wear the shirts. Now this is a perfect opportunity for AV. With 5 kits to choose from we could end up with a shirt that only 20.1% of fans want to wear!!
The9 Posted 9 May, 2011 Posted 9 May, 2011 Just so you can all have a laugh at the Newcastle shirt mentioned above... There's also a limited edition with a gold badge, though given how ugly the regular kit is it's probably going to be pretty limited itself...
bpsaint Posted 9 May, 2011 Posted 9 May, 2011 I don't actually remember that being a vote, but I agree it was a good kit. Yeah the Skates tried to hijack the votes at the time as one of the designs was a god awful rip off of the old AS Monaco kit that Hoddle wore when he was there. Think thats what it was meant to be anyhoo. One of the other designs was the red quarters shirt similar to the one that they would later wear in the friendly with Brighton to send off The Dell.

Ha, I remember it well. I wouldn't mind red and white quarters. There's certainly less teams wearing quarters than stripes. I was'nt a fan of the sash at first, but it's given us a new identity. It's pretty unique and I think that's a good thing. I'd quite like to see us wearing something like the feyenoord shirt. And guess what... They wear green and white as an away kit! It's the future. ;-) Edited 9 May, 2011 by Cestrian Saint
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 9 May, 2011 Posted 9 May, 2011 Does the way the grass was cut at SMS on Saturday give us a clue as to what to expect? I hope so! I wondered that too. The way the stripes were cut into the pitch, I'm guessing you mean? Looked a bit like the shirt Bally wore in his first stint, the one before Keegan signed, IMO.

Lol i might be on my own here, but i personally think that this is the best kit Newcastle have had in years, i really like it!
Matthew Le God Posted 9 May, 2011 Posted 9 May, 2011 It looks like someone in a waistcoat and black tie.
Saint Garrett Posted 9 May, 2011 Posted 9 May, 2011 I don't mind that Newcastle shirt at all! I quite like it !
Saint J 77 Posted 9 May, 2011 Posted 9 May, 2011 Indeed yes - this one; I'd like to see a modern twist on this one
