Pilchards Posted 5 April, 2011 Posted 5 April, 2011 Always wanted to do one of these....! Let's have a look at what midfielders could be out. Spider, Stephens, Lallana & Chamberlain. Those that would do a job for us, Gobern, Dickson & Guly. Bit thin however we plenty to offer in defence and attack. My team Davis Richardson Fonte Jaidi Harding Guly Hammond© Chaplow Lallana/Dickson Barnard and Lambert Going for a tight 2-1 win with Forte hitting a winner.
SaintBobby Posted 5 April, 2011 Posted 5 April, 2011 I'm actually treating this game as a bonus game. Think we could well win, but I wouldn't be miserable with a point. If we have players who are marginal on fitness (Lallana? Harding?), I'd probably rest them.
K,Billy's supersound Posted 5 April, 2011 Posted 5 April, 2011 i would plum for davis frazer fonte jaidi dickson forte hammond chaplow lallana barnard lambert bart, butterfield, seaborne, harding, guly, gobern, connelly if lallana isnt fit then harding at left back dickon pushed into midfield. i would have played stephens ahead of chaplow but i'm guessing he now won't be fit.

Have seen fron Adkins that one good performance doesn't guarantee anything so expect Harding will be back. Think the way dickson got forward yesterday means he would be the obvious replacement if lallana cant make it in time. No need to risk stephens even if he might be ok as if Hammond gets suspended then we'll definitely need him.
simo Posted 6 April, 2011 Posted 6 April, 2011 MASSIVE game Saturday and with the amount of fans going up I can see it being a great day 2-1 Saints both from Ricky !
Doctoroncall Posted 6 April, 2011 Posted 6 April, 2011 Expecting us to win this one which will take a bit of pressure away from the Rochdale match which should be an open game anyway with them pushing for the play-offs. Agree with Pichards' line up, especially if Lallana isn't 100%.
View From The Top Posted 6 April, 2011 Posted 6 April, 2011 It'll be the same team that started last night I reckon. Catching the train down with the nipper who's really looking forward to a big Saints following at an away game.
Appy Posted 6 April, 2011 Posted 6 April, 2011 Lallana looked fine last night, walking down the tunnel without any assistance. He will play.
Andyb1 Posted 6 April, 2011 Posted 6 April, 2011 Anyone reckon ill be able to get in the home fans as i don't have a ticket and fancy going?
View From The Top Posted 6 April, 2011 Posted 6 April, 2011 Anyone reckon ill be able to get in the home fans as i don't have a ticket and fancy going? Won't be a problem.
Under Weststand Posted 6 April, 2011 Posted 6 April, 2011 Hopefully we can get the win we want, whilst 2 draws from these next 2 tricky fixtures wouldn't be disastrous. Heart says 2-1 Saints, head says oh sod the head 2-1 Saints a draw or win for Posh & were 2nd Sat night. The door was kicked wide open last night, lets finish the job and barge right on through it to promotion.
Glasgow_Saint Posted 6 April, 2011 Posted 6 April, 2011 4 points from the next 2 games required (minimum) imo
jasoneuelllfanclub Posted 6 April, 2011 Posted 6 April, 2011 6 points the obvious target from next two games but 4 points would be ok as long as we follow up by beating Bristol Rovers. I see plymouth sold out, does anyone know how many tickets were allocated?
100%Red&White Posted 6 April, 2011 Posted 6 April, 2011 Anyone reckon ill be able to get in the home fans as i don't have a ticket and fancy going? Take a look on the away forum as Coca Cola Saint was offering a couple of tickets for sale on there earlier. Not many at Brisbane Road last night and despite them winning and having a sniff of the play-offs I can't see them filling the home areas.
kelkel31 Posted 6 April, 2011 Posted 6 April, 2011 this game is big purely for the reason that the rochdale game looks a tougher prospect and going into That game with a little bit of pressure off will be a big help for that game. win here coupled with a non huddersfield win puts us 2nd and would mean that any points from the rochdale game would put the other 2 in a position were they almost certainly have to win their remaining 5 games to get second as our run in after the brighton match looks very winnable!
saints-cris Posted 6 April, 2011 Posted 6 April, 2011 A few weeks ago I saw this as a tough game where I'd take a draw.. but i think we can go there and win on saturday, and hope that Posh and Hudds can draw.. would be perfect for us. Win and give ourselves some breathing room for Rochdale away.
warsash saint Posted 6 April, 2011 Posted 6 April, 2011 I imagine all Bournemouth fans will be cheering us on in the next 2 games
rick1976.4.38 Posted 6 April, 2011 Posted 6 April, 2011 think we need a win, rochdale are knocking on the door of the playoffs now,as bournemouth seem to be on a slump.
Bakovnetski Posted 6 April, 2011 Posted 6 April, 2011 This. Both Rochdale and Orient are on a mission to catch Bournemouth so I expect them and their crowds to be really up for it regardless of who they are playing. 6 points from these 2 games would be a tough ask but not impossible. 3 or 4 points essential to get past Hudds.
StD Posted 6 April, 2011 Posted 6 April, 2011 My ticket in the home section arrived this morning... Can't wait for saturday, although not sure how I'm going to stay quiet if/when we score.
Appy Posted 6 April, 2011 Posted 6 April, 2011 Taking over the capital again, should be fun and games!

M271 Posted 6 April, 2011 Posted 6 April, 2011 Lallana looked fine last night, walking down the tunnel without any assistance. He will play. I hope that you are right, however if there is the slightest doubt I would rather rest him for one match and let him fully recover than play him and if injury gets worse out for 2 weeks or more, at this busy time of the season means missing 4 or 5 matches minimum. But I guess that's always the dilema when playing players not fully fit.
Tartarus112 Posted 6 April, 2011 Posted 6 April, 2011 Will be interesting to see if Adkins throws Chaplow on in place of stephens are some dire recent performances and the crowd turning on him against Charlton. Could this be Gobern's time to step up? or will we Guly played more centrally? I'd plum for Davis Butterfield Fonte Martin Harding Hammond Dickson Guly Lambert Lallana Barnard Looking at prior rest patterns for Jaidi, this would seem the most likely game for him to be dropped so he's fit for Rochdale on tuesday.

Butters can play CM effectively so he might be worth a shout whilst Richardson continues at RB?
SNSUN Posted 6 April, 2011 Posted 6 April, 2011 I'm more worried about the Rochdale game for some reason, but this'll still be tough. With the bewbs behind us though, we cannot lose. I reckon it's our attackers that will shine these last few games, a 3-1 favourite shoreline would be lovely. Davis Butterfield Fonte Jaidi Dickson Hammond Guly Lallana Forte Lambert Barnard In an inverted Christmas tree sort of shape would be my attacking line up for the game!
Tartarus112 Posted 6 April, 2011 Posted 6 April, 2011 Butters can play CM effectively so he might be worth a shout whilst Richardson continues at RB? Could be, however Adkins seems to favour Butterfield and Richardson wasn't outstanding against Charlton. Also Richardson's more attacking so less likely to play away from home.
fanimal Posted 6 April, 2011 Posted 6 April, 2011 Orient have got a good home record, only lost 3x same as us, so no pushover, but I think our support will make the difference on saturday; Rochdale will be interesting in that we both will be playing our 4th game in 11 days, so neither can claim tiredness, but our bigger squad should prevail. This run in is like the opposite of the Great Escape!
Thedelldays Posted 6 April, 2011 Posted 6 April, 2011 Tricky game.. A draw would be a decent result... We simply cannot lose.. Saying that, we are on a great bit if form... So 3-1 to saints for me.. Will also say that 3 points from the next two games is essential.. 4 points would be very nice. 6 points and we will have one foot in the NPC and thinking about revenge on Pompey
Thorpe-le-Saint Posted 6 April, 2011 Posted 6 April, 2011 We can't lose this, but I can't see anything other than a 3-1 win. Can't bloody wait for Saturday: Beers in Waterloo and Shoreditch before heading to Leyton.
alehouseboys Posted 6 April, 2011 Posted 6 April, 2011 Where are Saints supporters going for drink ? Just about all over central London. London Bridge is a favoured destination but best avoided Saturday as Leeds are playing Millwall, Liverpool Street will be well populated with Saints fans but you'll also have Spurs and Stoke in the area. There's a couple of pubs around Leyton that have been mentioned, the Birbeck Tavern round the corner from the tube looks like it gonna be popular.
THEVMAN Posted 6 April, 2011 Posted 6 April, 2011 Adam is very doubtful for saturday and will probably be back for the tuesday game,no point rushing him back.

It was ok last year.
scott_saints Posted 6 April, 2011 Posted 6 April, 2011 We're having a couple at Waterloo, Hole in the Wall opposite Waterloo, followed by Liverpool Street and then on to Leyton.
Thedelldays Posted 6 April, 2011 Posted 6 April, 2011 Adam is very doubtful for saturday and will probably be back for the tuesday game,no point rushing him back. Booooo
Kingsbridge Saint Posted 6 April, 2011 Posted 6 April, 2011 Tough tough game - especially with our injuries piling up. A draw would be a good result, but we really need the win. Time to show some promotion form mettle.
Nexstar Posted 6 April, 2011 Posted 6 April, 2011 Realistically we need 4 points from the next 2 games. Based on that, I'd say a win Saturday is pretty vital, Rochdale will be very tough.
Saint Fan CaM Posted 6 April, 2011 Posted 6 April, 2011 Every game is a must win game - it's stupid to think otherwise with at least three clubs coming into a run of form and quite capable of pinching our 2nd place if we falter. Doesn't matter by how many goals now.... 1-0 wins all the way down the line will do nicely.
Saint Charlie Posted 7 April, 2011 Posted 7 April, 2011 Adam is very doubtful for saturday and will probably be back for the tuesday game,no point rushing him back. Agree - better to miss one than several.
Chez Posted 7 April, 2011 Posted 7 April, 2011 I've a spare ticket if anyone needs one. Face value, obviously.
toofarnorth Posted 7 April, 2011 Posted 7 April, 2011 Realistically we need 4 points from the next 2 games. Based on that, I'd say a win Saturday is pretty vital, Rochdale will be very tough. And the problem with Huddersfield and posh playing each other is that they both cant lose. At least one of them will be getting points.
jam Posted 7 April, 2011 Posted 7 April, 2011 And the problem with Huddersfield and posh playing each other is that they both cant lose. At least one of them will be getting points. No, but they can grind out a wearing, demoralising draw.
Lets B Avenue Posted 7 April, 2011 Posted 7 April, 2011 Mark Clattenberg is the ref. continuing his sabbatical from the "Fantasy League."
toofarnorth Posted 7 April, 2011 Posted 7 April, 2011 No mention of lallana as being a concern for Saturday, when others are talked about. Could be good news. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/PreviewDetail/0,,10280~2332664,00.html
