Weston Super Saint Posted 18 October, 2008 Posted 18 October, 2008 Sing swing low[e] yet? Or is it still too early? If it's too early, how long should we wait before we can sing the song?
saint lard Posted 18 October, 2008 Posted 18 October, 2008 As long it is not during the 90 mins of the game, fill your'e boots.
Weston Super Saint Posted 18 October, 2008 Author Posted 18 October, 2008 As long it is not during the 90 mins of the game, fill your'e boots. Half time?
Weston Super Saint Posted 18 October, 2008 Author Posted 18 October, 2008 Also, why not during the game? Maybe the distraction will improve the performance :smt102
rocknrollman no2 Posted 18 October, 2008 Posted 18 October, 2008 A few people started singing it in the concourse at half time, but it soon fizzled out. But i bet we will start to hear it soon,if theres enough of us left at SMS to sing it.
saint lard Posted 18 October, 2008 Posted 18 October, 2008 Half time? Most definately. Unless Mike Osman is doing the half time entertainment, comic genius.
saint lard Posted 18 October, 2008 Posted 18 October, 2008 Also, why not during the game? Maybe the distraction will improve the performance :smt102 Well, anythings worth a go i suppose. Should really be focusing on trying to spur on/encourage the nippers, perhaps it should of been sung the moment he got his feet under the table again to be honest.

Well, if what people are saying about RL interfering and the team getting more annoyed about that is true, maybe it's the elixir we've been searching for?
Big Ron fan Posted 19 October, 2008 Posted 19 October, 2008 The time to sing it was at the end of the Sheff Utd game at the end of last season - as I said at the time.
Window Cleaner Posted 19 October, 2008 Posted 19 October, 2008 Cheer up, you could be a Spurs supporter.;)
Long Shot Posted 19 October, 2008 Posted 19 October, 2008 Sing swing low[e] yet? Or is it still too early? If it's too early, how long should we wait before we can sing the song? You got to wait a bit longer . Nick Illy was right in what he wrote about keeping the faith regardless.
Thorpe-le-Saint Posted 19 October, 2008 Posted 19 October, 2008 I'm going to see what has happened in our next 3 games, but I anticipate singing it soon...
saint lard Posted 19 October, 2008 Posted 19 October, 2008 You got to wait a bit longer . Nick Illy was right in what he wrote about keeping the faith regardless. I don't think we have to wait any longer. Why should i heed what Nick says?
StuRomseySaint Posted 19 October, 2008 Posted 19 October, 2008 A few people started singing it in the concourse at half time, but it soon fizzled out. But i bet we will start to hear it soon,if theres enough of us left at SMS to sing it. They were told in no uncertain terms what mongs they were for singing it and soon got the message, as did the people walking out at half time. I am such a hypocrite, as I have left early many times and sung for Lowes head many times, infact my claim to fame was starting the famous ' Stand up if you want Lowe out' at Ipswich a couple of years ago. I am allowed to sing things like this, but it annoys me if others do. On another subject, there was some funny chants coming from the back of the Northam on Saturday. Never seen the Northam all sit down so quickly when the 'Stand up if you ****ged Elton' started. It did get me thinking, would this be classed as homophobic chanting in the same way that Sol Campbell incident, or is it ok to sing songs like that if it's 'just for a laugh' ?

Weston Super Saint Posted 24 October, 2008 Author Posted 24 October, 2008 Sing swing low[e] yet? Or is it still too early? If it's too early, how long should we wait before we can sing the song? How about now
70's Mike Posted 24 October, 2008 Posted 24 October, 2008 Most definately. Unless Mike Osman is doing the half time entertainment, comic genius. prefer Mike Osman to the current jokers
saintwarwick Posted 24 October, 2008 Posted 24 October, 2008 A few people started singing it in the concourse at half time, but it soon fizzled out. But i bet we will start to hear it soon,if theres enough of us left at SMS to sing it. That will be the problem, we had enough fans in the premiership for the song to be heard, now with attendances so low we will struggle to outsing the local choir.
Wes Tender Posted 24 October, 2008 Posted 24 October, 2008 How about now  The time is drawing ever nearer....If we are losing the next home game, I think that it will make a reappearance and there will also be Stern John chants I reckon, if the powder puff strikers fail to get anywhere scoring.

Er no i never and i shall be singing it next match also!
rocknrollman no2 Posted 14 November, 2008 Posted 14 November, 2008 What has lowe done wrong this season? let the games begin.... Hi Le Goddard, Welcome back from your coma.
Wes Tender Posted 15 November, 2008 Posted 15 November, 2008 Cheer up, you could be a Spurs supporter.;) I bet you didn't imagine that comment would come back so quickly to bite you on the bum! I'm almost envying Spurs at the moment.

Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 20 December, 2008 Posted 20 December, 2008 Wasn't too early when you first posed the questiom; absolutely necessary now.
Weston Super Saint Posted 20 December, 2008 Author Posted 20 December, 2008 You got to wait a bit longer . Nick Illy was right in what he wrote about keeping the faith regardless. Yep, you're right, we should keep the faith
Snowballs2 Posted 20 December, 2008 Posted 20 December, 2008 You got to wait a bit longer . Nick Illy was right in what he wrote about keeping the faith regardless. Do not agree with you for a change...we have all become too apathetic and accept whatever crap is thrown our way...enough is enough. It really is time for a change, bring on Administration even though it may hurt some financially, if its best for the future of Saints ...just do it
lordswoodsaints Posted 20 December, 2008 Posted 20 December, 2008 the song is very crappy and lame,if you wanna sing it,sing it but from where im sitting it sounds crap and is a bit cringy tbh.

Johnny Bognor Posted 23 December, 2008 Posted 23 December, 2008 Sing swing low[e] yet? Or is it still too early? If it's too early, how long should we wait before we can sing the song? As long it is not during the 90 mins of the game, fill your'e boots. There is a myth that singing this during the game affects performance. The last time there were Lowe out protests in earnest (before, during and after each game), we won 7 of our last 8 games that season - our best run for many years. Our best run in many a year, so perhaps it isn't a myth after all. You could argue that with the focus on Lowe, it would take the pressure off the youngsters.
Weston Super Saint Posted 23 December, 2008 Author Posted 23 December, 2008 Now, where's that big banner :smt102
Amesbury Saint Posted 23 December, 2008 Posted 23 December, 2008 given that we have only one once at home, its not going to affect performances that much. we should be singing it now
Weston Super Saint Posted 23 December, 2008 Author Posted 23 December, 2008 given that we have only one once at home, its not going to affect performances that much. we should be singing it now I am! [Mrs WSS is looking at me strangely].
rocknrollman no2 Posted 24 December, 2008 Posted 24 December, 2008 I think we will be hearing a lot more of "Swing Lowe" when we play Reading and go 1-0 down after five minutes. Anyone with me?
