shurlock Posted 2 April, 2011 Posted 2 April, 2011 (edited) Two individuals - they're less than the sum of their parts when they play together.= both like dropping deep and receiving the ball and neither is blessed with pace (though at least Barnard is busy whereas Lambert is leaden), which makes it easier for defences to play a high line. Its most obvious when we play away and don't have midfielders bombing on. Barnard ahead of Lambert any day of the week at the moment Edited 2 April, 2011 by shurlock
Nexstar Posted 2 April, 2011 Posted 2 April, 2011 Barnard and Ricky work very well together. But who the hell is Bernard?!
musesaint Posted 2 April, 2011 Posted 2 April, 2011 Barnard and Ricky work very well together. But who the hell is Bernard?! I think he means a Saint Bernard
Lord Duckhunter Posted 2 April, 2011 Posted 2 April, 2011 Personally I think they are both too one paced. One, maybe both of them will need replacing next season. That said Barneys run at the end to hold the ball in the corner showed what he's all about, gutsy and hard working. Just a shame he's not quite quick enough.
View From The Top Posted 2 April, 2011 Posted 2 April, 2011 1st half they were to far apart. 2nd half they played closer together and it paid off.

Next season we will have Craig M_S so one will have to go.
Matthew Le God Posted 2 April, 2011 Posted 2 April, 2011 Next season we will have Craig M_S so one will have to go. Why would one of Barnard/Lambert have to be sold if Craig Mackail-Smith signed for Saints (and didn't go to Norwich)? David Connolly probably won't get another contract, so that opens up a striker spot in the squad.
Supersubpuckett Posted 2 April, 2011 Posted 2 April, 2011 lambert couldn't hack it in the championship as he's just too slow, barnard would still be useful at that level.
Thedelldays Posted 2 April, 2011 Posted 2 April, 2011 lambert couldn't hack it in the championship as he's just too slow, barnard would still be useful at that level. like grant holt last season....yet he has bagged 20 goals in the NPC already....rickie would be good for 10-15 goals in the NPC IMO...which is a decent return
Saint-Fred Posted 2 April, 2011 Posted 2 April, 2011 Lambert set up two today..Barnard scored one and we won! Why the inquest?..we can't change them now..Get behind them and stop over analysing everything..That's NA's job. COYR
Matthew Le God Posted 2 April, 2011 Posted 2 April, 2011 (edited) lambert couldn't hack it in the championship as he's just too slow Norwich's Grant Holt isn't exactly quick and he is doing fine as the Championship's 3rd top scorer this season. The Championship isn't much off a step up for good League One sides as Norwich, Leeds and Millwall have shown. Joseph Mills and Simon Gillett both play regularly in the CHampionship and struggled to get in the Saints team. Jason Puncheon is 3rd choice wide player for Saints and is starting games in the Premier League. Edited 2 April, 2011 by Matthew Le God
paulwantsapint Posted 2 April, 2011 Posted 2 April, 2011 Rickie will score in npc (if we go up ) even if we get new pacy strikers rickie will be an impact player to either change a game or ensure a result
