SO16_Saint Posted 1 April, 2011 Share Posted 1 April, 2011 What a truly amazing series. The guy who presents it has a real presence.
Sour Mash Posted 1 April, 2011 Share Posted 1 April, 2011 Yep, absolutely cracking series, although his constant insane grin does start to grate a bit after a while!

Hamilton Saint Posted 1 April, 2011 Share Posted 1 April, 2011 I agree, though he says profound FAR too much! How about, "billions and billions!"? [Carl Sagan]
Trader Posted 1 April, 2011 Share Posted 1 April, 2011 Brian Cox is good - but the first episode was a bit "we're all gonna die" for me, and I wasn't sure about the physics of that TBH. The rest of the series though was first class - I like the idea of being made of stardust, much more than being made by some old bloke sitting on a cloud. Spudders Posted 1 April, 2011 Share Posted 1 April, 2011 Brian Cox is good - but the first episode was a bit "we're all gonna die" for me I'm guessing you were so busy panicking about the end of the world, you missed where he said it'll happen in a billion billion years (or something like that!) Personally the thought of the sun expanding and crashing into the planet in a billion billion years is of little interest to me. Now if he'd been telling us about the end of the world happening in 2012 then maybe we'd all worry a bit more!
Deppo Posted 1 April, 2011 Share Posted 1 April, 2011 I don't like him. He talks in a stupid voice and always has an inane grin on his face. Steven Hawkins would be better, but then he's not made a record and isn't seen as being cool. Just because someone is in a wheelchair it doesn't mean they can't be cool - look at that black bloke who plays basketball and does tricks with his wheelchair. Then again, he's probably only cool because he's black. I bet if he was a white man in a wheelchair would could play basketball no-one would care. Maybe Brian Cox should start presenting the programme from a wheelchair, I might start liking him more. Or maybe he could black up? Or both? He could become a hyrid of Hawkins and the black chap. That really would be a wonder of the universe.

benjii Posted 1 April, 2011 Share Posted 1 April, 2011 What a truly amazing series. The guy who presents it has a real presence. He does indeed. The real presence of an egomaniac, whiny voiced, perma-grinning tit.
