ecuk268 Posted 2 April, 2011 Share Posted 2 April, 2011 3-3 comng back from 3-0 down against Liverpool, Marian scoring and jumping in the Archers when he equalised. Last year at The Dell I think. At St Marys the quarter final against Wolves, the destruction of Spurs, and the Arsenal game where Delgado scored with his arse. Remember the Liverpool game well. it was an evening game and The Dell always had a unique atmosphere under lights. 0-3 down with about 15 minutes to go. A bit more extra time and we would have won as Liverpool were really under the cosh.
Norm Posted 2 April, 2011 Share Posted 2 April, 2011 1960 1st div Man City 1 3rd div Saints 5, 1963 1st div Notts Forest 3 2nd div Saints 3 (0-3 with 13 mins left) 2nd replay at White Hart Lane, Saints 5 NF 0. Derry, what a great choice! Mind you, 9-3 against Wolves at the Dell wasn't bad. Then we sign the Wolves keeper Dave MacLaren

Saint Samuel Posted 3 April, 2011 Share Posted 3 April, 2011 How about Saints 3-2 MK Dons on 02/04/2011? Thats right up there for me, best game I've been to since the Sheffield United game on the last day of 2007/08.
Saint_Ash Posted 3 April, 2011 Share Posted 3 April, 2011 So many to choose, but I'd have to say these standout most; Chelsea 2-4 Saints NYD 2002, after celebrating the night before in London town and only getting two hours sleep the game was great. At half time we were 2-1 down but my mate was telling us it would ok cos we will win 4-2!! Blimey, 2002? I remember you texting after the game! Wasn't Beatts top of his game then? Wolves 0-6 Saints. Amazing atmosphere, Saga had his only great game and we drank the night away in Birmingham! Even though we weren't allowed in because of your "Stripey shirt" or summat! Brilliant night that was! Saints 3-2 arsenal the last "real" game at the Dell. A special atmoshere all day, a great game and a very special moment at the end particularly if you had bet on Matty scoring last and us winning 3-2 at 175-1! A good night ensued! And you bought pints in the Heath win your winnings! Good times! ha
Badger Posted 3 April, 2011 Share Posted 3 April, 2011 3-2 v ManU 1981 (KK's overhead 'goal' etc). 2-3 v Liverpool 1982 .Although we lost it was an excellent game from two footballing teams incl. Channon's wonder team goal 2-0 v Liverpool 1984 Wallace's overhead 4-1 v Liverpool 1989 Also a 1970 match 2-0 win vMan City, two goals from Big Ron that secured us from relegation and shat on their title aspirations. Daren W Posted 4 April, 2011 Share Posted 4 April, 2011 3-1 Liverpool 1989 3-3 Liverpool 2000 6-3 Man Utd 1996 5-4 Norwich 1994 4-0 Spurs 2004 And strangely enough 3-2 Sheffield United 2008, the most blood pumping rollercoaster of a game I've been to. One minute we're relegated, the next we're not, the next we are, the next we're not... Stunning stuff and one of the reasons I lost total faith in Lowe when he got rid of Pearson... Beachcombers Windowsill Posted 4 April, 2011 Share Posted 4 April, 2011 I remember the 3-2 against Birmingham a few years back being a cracker. Broke my humerus the day before but battled on. Well worth it.

Yeah, completely agree. That was an amazing day, plus quality pitch invasion.

Northant Saint Posted 5 April, 2011 Share Posted 5 April, 2011 By no means my favourite game, but I remember enjoying myself when we beat Derby 1-0 at Pride Park the season we were relegated from the Championship. After that game everyone thought we were going to go up Dutch style. How wrong we were...
BristolRedStripe Posted 5 April, 2011 Share Posted 5 April, 2011 Two ding dong games that haven't been mentioned: Saints 4 Stoke 3 in about 1982. Biley was palying for them, Waldron scored a free kick. 3 0 Saints at half time. Stoke come back to 3 3 with Dave Watson scoring a 30 yard screamer for them (really!) and then of all people, Mark Whitlock wins it in the last minute. There was a cracking Saints 4 Ipswich 3 in about 1994 or 5 with an injury time winner I think.

After that game everyone thought we were going to go up Dutch style. How wrong we were... Total football ..... even if it was against a team who hadn't won a game for nearly a year The 5 pints in The Brunswick certainly helped it seem as if we were world beaters. Shame Killer couldn't maintain his fitness as he was brilliant that game which I think may have been his comeback game.
