saint_stevo Posted 3 April, 2011 Share Posted 3 April, 2011 Does anything show as missing (yellow exclamation) in device manager
Baj Posted 3 April, 2011 Share Posted 3 April, 2011 Does anything show as missing (yellow exclamation) in device manager Monitors with speakers dont need drivers. It should come with a green ended 3.5mm jack cable, you plug one end to the monitor and one end to the soundcard speaker out. VGA and/or DVI does not carry an audio signal. Make sure your sound card drivers are up to date, then just plug the cable from monitor to soundcard and all should be happy
Jeff Le Taxi Posted 4 April, 2011 Author Share Posted 4 April, 2011 Daughters desktop pc in her room. she came home from school with a cracked copy of windows 7 thats doing the rounds at her school (!!! 12 she is! ) so the drivers were all wiped when she reinstalled windows, the cable configuration wasnt changed, and the previously working monitor speakers are now not working (fine by me, i hate r&b with a passion!) problem is number one daughter isnt happy that superdad hasnt got I.T superpowers! The monitor driver is generic and doesnt seem to run the speakers, perhaps windows 7 doesnt support these monitors?

Baj Posted 4 April, 2011 Share Posted 4 April, 2011 Jeff, re read my post mate, you wont find the drivers for the monitor to run the sound because there isnt one. You need drivers for the soundcard on the PC which is no longer working.
