dune Posted 30 March, 2011 Share Posted 30 March, 2011 It's in the Japanese psyche to do stuff like this. Just think back to the Kamikaze pilots.

Turkish Posted 30 March, 2011 Share Posted 30 March, 2011 Get rid of the wife and financial security for life? Brings a whole new meaning to killing two birds with one stone.
SuperMikey Posted 30 March, 2011 Share Posted 30 March, 2011 It's in the Japanese psyche to do stuff like this. Just think back to the Kamikaze pilots. The Kamikaze pilots were brainwashed into their duties by propaganda and a reliance on nationalism. These people are going in to Fukushima to make sure that the job is done properly and to minimise the risk to the rest of Japan, and even the world. No brainwashing involved, just pure bravery and selflessness on their part, as well as the promise of a safe life for their family. They are heroes.
