I am not going to keep quiet about this anymore..............

People have tried to sweep this under the carpet on the Jordace Holder-Spooner thread, to many "ITKs" on the CP forum!

Having read that thread, all the way through including posts from Nicola C & Adriansfc, and read the various Brighton threads and Bompey comments I'll just add one comment, with humility.

It's beginning to look like noone likes us and we don't care!

Don't worry, I bored the Palace fans to death with some common sense.

Next rumour anyone?

and used the opportunity brilliantly to set the record straight about them down the road. Only another 90 sets of fans to educate.

I'm having fun working out who the whispering campaign person is...

"Northern" clubs recently relegated from the Prem :

2010 : Hull, Burnley

2009 : Newcastle, Middlesbrough

2008 : Birmingham (!), Derby(!)

2007 : Sheff Utd

2006 : Sunderland.

Assume recently relegated means "hasn't come back yet" which leaves

Hull, Burnley, Middlesbrough, Derby, Sheff Utd.

stories of them approaching the financial brink rules out Burnley, who made £14m last season. The others have had some questions about their financial status - Sheff U lost £18m last year.

So from Hull, Middlesbrough, Derby, Sheff Utd.

The "before he parted company with them" bit rules out anyone with the same chairman as when they went down...

Boro have the same owner, Steve Gibson.

Hull... Paul Duffen replaced in the Prem season by Adam Pearson.

Derby had Adam Pearson as Chairman (spooky) in the Prem, he's left since (to go to Hull).

Sheff Utd : Kevin McCabe was their Chairman when they went up http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/sheff_utd/4908046.stm and left in Nov 2010.

So it seems we're down to 3 men.

Linked to a consortium who were said to be interested in buying a Championship club not a million miles a way.

That's probably going to be either Reading or Portsmouth, who are the two nearest clubs to Southampton...

Adam Pearson search on "takeover" finds only takeover news for Derby County and Hull.

Kevin McCabe search only finds manager news and something about Sheffield United buinding links with a Chinese team.

Hmmm : http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Portsmouth-are-the-target-of-a-10m-takeover-bid-from-former-Hull-chairman-Paul-Duffen-article612957.html

Of course, that doesn't mean it's true.

'kinell the skates can't forgive us for that "dock strike" (oh, hang on, that one was bullsh*te wasn't it :p), Brighton can't forgive us for 1978 and now it looks like Palarse have got it in for us, no doubt for 1976. Thank f*ck we never beat Glasgow Rangers in the Texaco Cup in 1974.

They probably wouldn't have noticed anyway, it was a great day for them....if I remember correctly the Pope died on the same day as they beat us 4-0.

Skate myth no.183 - we relegated the scummers - no, you relegated Palace.

I would imagine most Palace fans would be more interested in the demise of the team that failed to perform at West Brom back in 2005 and sent them on their merry way to administration than to worry about us releasing one academy player.

i thought we beat them at their place 4-0?????

I stand corrected, just checked we did beat them at Ibrox, Quarter Final 2nd leg.

I do remember the Dell game very well, 2-0 and 5,000 moody sweaties afterwards. Central station was impressively noisy on the north bound platform that night.

For God's sake, what a load of absolute toilet. Have you been in a coma or something? We were bought by a MULTI-BILLIONAIRE and when he died the financial security of the club was passed to his estate. Until I hear official confirmation from the club or his estate (NOT SOME PALACE MESSAGEBOARD!) I will continue to sleep soundly. Dear Lord!

What on earth possesses you to post such obvious drivel?

Indeed what on earth makes you trawl other clubs' chat sites to find such drivel?

I am hereby starting a rumour that Man U are going bust next week. Please will any lurking plastics on here put that on their site?

Yer Stop teasing Glasgow, Or you-ell get a kiss,

Not sure if this has any relevance but someone has told me that the Swiss Flag is not at SMS anymore, could be just removed for cleaning/replacing etc., and to be honest I am not sure if I ever remember seeing it. Anyone confirm if in fact there used to be a Swiss Flag if so has it now gone.

Swiss flag was flying a couple of months ago. No idea if it's there or not now.

3-1 away and 2-0 at home, a rather comprehensive win. As to that night after the home game?

Luckily there were many police on the train back to Eastleigh that night as we would have been mullered. Getting off at Eastleigh we were showered by full beer cans. I told one of the O.B. I'd never seen a Scotsman chuck away alcohol.

Smell your clothes he replied.

Big mistake Dave, they are the Mike and Bernie Winters of the forum - hilariously unfunny but they induce some sharp comments in response which can often be amusing !

All IMHO of course :)

Wasn't it at the Glasgow Empire when one of the two was performing and dieing a death when his brother comes out on stage: "Oh gawd, there's two of 'em". Mind you, I do find Glasgow and Alpine subtly different...

Mods - can you please make this a Sticky?

Other than a rumour on another clubs website do you have any evidence that we are in financial turmoil and are in crisis; enough evidence to justify getting to the point where you are verging on being hysterical? Are there ANY implications in all this that have been substantiated? I really don't want to be rude but I think its time you calmed down until real evidence comes to light. One young player (and one with a known temperament problem at that) has been told to find a club elsewhere and you claim we are in melt down? Get a grip on reality for goodness sake. If you want financial crisis then look at Plymouth, Coventry (SISU et al) and our dear friends down the M27 to mention just three. There are many more, including Oldham, Sheff Wed (despite MM), Southend, Cardiff and Stockport, who have REAL problems, not imaginary ones. For heavens sake, grow up and grow some b4lls.

It's amazing how many clubs seem to give a **** about us these days isn't it? I don't know if it was just that the internet didn't exist when i was growing up but i'm sure other clubs seemed far less bothered about us.

Still nice to know you're noticed isn't it?
