Thedelldays Posted 29 March, 2011 Share Posted 29 March, 2011 the capello bashing in the media is becoming so boring.. he is now the reason why england are so bad.....yet, do these people not remember the success we had at Euro 2008..? its always someone elses fault but the players..and the fact these media types over hype them to the "best in the world" and then wonder when they are shown they are not

Deppo Posted 29 March, 2011 Share Posted 29 March, 2011 Commentator has just said that if England win tonight, Capello will have the best success ratio of ANY England manager.
Smirking_Saint Posted 29 March, 2011 Share Posted 29 March, 2011 Welcome back Deppo. Yeah I heard that, surprising. TBH i don't think the level of blame should be soley at Capello's door. The FA and the premier league need to take a massive portion of that blame and the fact that we never completed the Burton football academy was an utter disaster
Deppo Posted 29 March, 2011 Share Posted 29 March, 2011 This side looks good. I think we should tell Rooney, Terry, Lampard, Gerrard et al to f*ck off if they couldn't be arsed to play tonight. These boys will do me. First time in ages I've seen an England side pass the ball well AND show any kind of desire.

Hamilton Saint Posted 29 March, 2011 Share Posted 29 March, 2011 I thought it was strange that Capello said that he had taken Andy Carroll aside and "spoke with him, in private" about his drinking. "He's young", said Capello. And then he discusses in the media for the entire world to hear about. Does that help?

Born In The 80s Posted 29 March, 2011 Share Posted 29 March, 2011 This just proves how idiotic it is to continue playing the same old under-performing players. F*ck off gerrard and Rooney. Personally, i think it underlines more how idiotic it was of Capello to persist with the 4-4-2 formation for the past year. This 4-5-1/4-3-3 formation suits the players we have so much better. Fans have been crying out for it for months and finally Capello has listened. Gotta say, i'm suddenly quite positive about our chances at the next major tournament again. For me, i'd definitely have Rooney, but i'd play him on the left, like he was against Wales. There's no doubt that the guy has unbelievable ability, and with Carroll playing up top and another quick, tricky winger the other side (one of Young, Walcott, Johnson), you've got yourself a front 3 that offer pace, power and trickery. I think Gerrard is a real problem. When he is fit, Capello will desperately try and fit him in somewhere which will totally **** up the balance of the side. I wish that scouse **** would just copy his loser mate Jamie and retire.
hypochondriac Posted 29 March, 2011 Share Posted 29 March, 2011 trouble is, they will be back..thank god rooney is banned for the next qualifier I despise Rooney. I grudgingly accept Ashley cole because no matter what I think of him as a person, his form for England has been consistently world class. Rooney rarely performs and the final straw for me was when he spoke to the camera after he got booed for performing terribly. Wilshire seems to be the new media darling but I would hope that if he starts playing poorly that he will be dropped as well. The reason we have done terribly in the last few years is because players know they can play badly safe in the knowledge that they will never be dropped because the media would never allow it. hypochondriac Posted 29 March, 2011 Share Posted 29 March, 2011 Personally I think Rooney is overrated. Yes he does have ability but he isn't as good as he thinks he is. And ability alone should not mean that a player gets an automatic selection into the team.

Badger Posted 29 March, 2011 Share Posted 29 March, 2011 (edited) TBH i don't think the level of blame should be soley at Capello's door. The FA and the premier league need to take a massive portion of that blame and the fact that we never completed the Burton football academy was an utter disaster Agree that other parties should shoulder the blame, although Crappello does not help himself by reinstating Terry as captain, having been praised 12months ago for taking a decisive moral stance. Not sure about Burton though I think our demise is deeper rooted than the facilities available. Only problem if FC goes,is who next ? F'sure! This just proves how idiotic it is to continue playing the same old under-performing players. F*ck off gerrard and Rooney. Two reasons I can't watch England too often... Andy Townsend is gushing about that goal. "Outstanding finish", he says. "Memorable goal", he says. Meh. ...especially on ITV with that wooden f^cker. SuperMikey Posted 29 March, 2011 Share Posted 29 March, 2011 Milner should've been sent off and probably Baines as well. Have to say I got some nasty looks when I was cheering Ghana on in the pub! Gyan's goal was no less than they deserved, although England had them pinned back into their own half for most of the game.

scott_saints Posted 30 March, 2011 Share Posted 30 March, 2011 What p1sses me off most about MOST England fans it seems, is when ever there is a new young player breaking into the first team.... everyone believes the hype and that he's the next big thing thing. This is all well and good, but you know that 10 years later when the England team are underperforming, the same player will be the one getting booed. Why we only feel the need to support the young players is beyond me. It's embarrasing after a poor world cup when all the fans claim all our better players need to be dropped from the squad completely.
ericofarabia Posted 30 March, 2011 Share Posted 30 March, 2011 I think he should employ the ex WHU player Ian Bishop - so we can all go Bashing The Bishopafter the next match, or indeed at anytime the England football team is mentioned!!

Sour Mash Posted 30 March, 2011 Share Posted 30 March, 2011 I can think of £6 million reasons why Capello should get stick. What value does he add for earning that huge amount of money? What difference does he really make? I can't see any. What does he do that Stuart Pearce on his own, on a fraction of the money wouldn't do? Yes, there are plenty of other reasons England don't achieve as much as some of us hope/expect, (the FA officials who sanctioned Cappelo's new contract before the world cup should be shot), but that doesn't mean Capello can't take any blame. Furthermore, it should be a rule that all nations can only employ managers of their own nationality, the whole point of national teams are that they represent that country and not benefit based on how wealthy their FA are and therefore if they are able to uy the best coaches money can buy. Smirking_Saint Posted 30 March, 2011 Share Posted 30 March, 2011 So long as Lampard is a mile away from the England midfield we will be fine, so so very overated. And in a little way I agree with Hypo (shudder), not in his assessment of Rooney and Gerrard who are both definately world class players, but in respect to playing for England. What we have seen over the years is a reliance on players, and unfortunately that means they will underperform and get away with it which is a sin. IMO Capello should be looking for teams like the one he sent out last night, both young and hungry. Whats the point on playing players who will be too old for the next world cup ?? Ok have a few around that have heart and desire, perhaps the likes of Terry and Gerrard but dump the old duffers that don't give a sh*t, a la Lampard. We need to give our youngsters experience. Its no coincidence that the lack of proaction and blooding young players by the FA and the worries of most of us over the lack of young english talent go hand in hand.
