patred44 Posted 29 March, 2011 Share Posted 29 March, 2011 Every goalkeeper makes a horrendous ricket at least once in his life. Robert Green had his in front of millions of viewers representing his country in the World Cup finals. He hasn't been picked for England since...Tonight England play Ghana in a nothing friendly.. that could have been an ideal time to lay his ghost. Normally for such a bad mistake, it's best to forget it and cast the man back into oblivion. But Green has comeback, worked harder, and consistently proved to be the best keeper we have.. all season.. Is it time to forgive, or can we waste his talent and keep him in the wilderness. ? We forgave Beckham's ricket in the WCF, and he went on to become a world class player. Green has the talent to do the same.

L1Minus10 Posted 29 March, 2011 Share Posted 29 March, 2011 Green was never good enough to be first choice England keeper anyway, before or after USA game. Likewise Ben Foster, Scott Carson
Barry the Badger Posted 30 March, 2011 Share Posted 30 March, 2011 Green is a brilliant shot stopper, but is not and will never be a world class keeper.

Scummer Posted 30 March, 2011 Share Posted 30 March, 2011 Doesn't Pat have some kind of vested interest here? He's a goalkeeping coach isn't he, is Green one of his students?
OldNick Posted 30 March, 2011 Share Posted 30 March, 2011 Green is always an accident waiting to happen. iam delighted we have Hart and if he had played against the US we would have done better in the WC
