Psychedelics

Go on then - what are your personal experiences?

I've never done anything more than grass, but after listening to American comedians Doug Stanhope (the guy in my avatar) and Joe Rogan (host of US Fear Factor) talk about it, my goal within the next 10 years is to get some DMT. Watch the video below for an explanation about it (NSFW - some swearing):

I was 1 year old when Castlemorton happened...nothing comes close now to what I read about the rave scene in the 90s. If I could choose an era to go back to at the age I am now, it'd be the 60s, with the 90s following close behind..

The 90's were a mad time. Just be careful with trips (they are strong and they do damage your brain so not to be done regularly), but if you're gonna do them make sure you're with people you like because the last thing you want is to be in the company of annoying people.

Personally...

Acid ++

Shrooms +++

MDMA (psychedically speaking) +

Ketamine --

Doing it with someone you trust is good advice. Never done DMT - I'm too much of a pussy having heard what others have said about it. Maybe thats to do with dosage though???

Shrooms +++

Had some mad times on those. I once took far too many and I think I was close to dieing. Never took them again after that.

On a more lighter note we did a ouija board once on acid and made contact with a murderer (possibly some funny c/nt was moving the ring). Also one of the old favourites was staring at a mirror and repeating "devil devil devil" and watching your face change.

'And man, I got a double-super buzz. Here I was a huffing a-airplane glue in a sandwich bag. Y'know just breathing it all into to my lungs and gettin' high, and then I'd take me a hit of that gas, right after a huge hit - man, you talkin' 'bout a warped mind? I got one.'

I like this from Wikipedia about Doug Stanhope :) -

On September 11, 2008, Stanhope re-entered the election scene with the creation of http://www.savingbristol.com, a web site dedicated to raising money to pay for an abortion for Bristol Palin, daughter of staunchly pro-life Alaskan governor and Republican Vice-Presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

“ Rather than sit back and impotently bemoan Bristol's tragic, lonely circumstance, it is time for us — the silent majority — to unite behind this poor, imprisoned woman and save her from both a tyrannical household as well as the horrible nightmare of a forced childbirth. ”

Though the $50,000 offered by Stanhope himself would more than cover the cost of an abortion under normal situations, Stanhope encouraged others to donate money towards helping Bristol begin a new life. On the site, Stanhope pledged:

“ Even if you cannot take my offer, I will still use my money or money donated through this page to pay for at least one abortion for a disadvantaged teenage girl each year for the rest of my life in the name of your mother. And in my will, I shall have a good portion of my estate turned into the Sarah J. Palin Abortion Fund that will help girls from all walks of life from destroying their lives and our natural resources by having children. ”

To fight off rumors that he was seeking to profit from the site in any way, donations to the cause are now made directly through http://www.lilithfund.org, the web site for Lilith Fund, a Texas-based organization dedicated to helping women pay for abortions if they are unable to afford them themselves.[20]

  • 1 month later...

Just been reading about Methoxetamine.

One of the comments...

If I had to compare the high of MXE to anything, and this may sound horrible, it'd be opiates and cocaine together. The strange audio hallucinations at higher doses, the body being numb and feeling as though you are floating on a cloud, the increased awareness. Seems to have everything that heroin/cocaine together would have, but without all the paranoia.

I feel it could be very addictive.

Looks to be strong sh/t. 30mg seems to be what most people are taking for a trip.

Got some mushrooms back in the day. Was about 17, and at that time, you hear stories about pretty much anything getting you high. So I didn't even think they would work. Three of us strode into Portswood and were having a beer in the Mitre.

For about half an hour, we were all saying "Not feeling anything". Shortly afterward, both of my mates said "We gotta get out of here", and shortly after that, I realised that we had to leave too. Essentially, dealing with anyone that is not tripping themselves is a bit of a problem.

The experience is pretty profound. Many hallucinogens have disassociative effects, which pretty much unhook you from your own personality. Life, and the crap you get up to day to day, seems pretty ridiculous. The shrooms lasted for about six hours.

Did shrooms quite a few times over the next few years. We also did acid a couple of times. It's a similar experience, but feels a bit dirtier and lasts a sh*tload longer. We're talking 24 hours at least.

Now, I've spoken to people who did acid in the seventies; accounts of their experiences suggest it was much stronger back then.

Short notes on other stuff. Ketamine is extremely weird. You feel like you're up for hours, in reality you are up for about 45 minutes. I did hallucinated on E back in the day, but to be fair, you never really knew if it was cut with something else.

On reflection, a pretty positive experience all around. We never got the notion that we could fly, but we did do some other crazy stuff:-

+ Locking someone in a discarded industrial tumble drier (we let him out)

+ Touching the back of an old geezers head because it looked like a Mr Whippy icecream.

+ Riding around the New Forest on pushbikes in pitch black, fearing every set of headlights were the rozzers

+ Breaking a flat door by diving through it (the protagonist had a plastic Jif lemon in his mouth)

+ Sitting on top of the "giant skateboard" in Mayflower Park.

By far the weirdest experience was after some heavy clubbing in London. Can't tell you what I took at the time, but I'd just arrived from Liverpool, and everyone in London seemed to have a scouse accent. Statistically extremely unlikely ( especially since many of the people I was with never had scouse accents before ).

As others have remarked, brilliant experience all round, but I'm glad it's over. Sleeping seven nights a week is underrated.

If I had to give any advice to people embarking on psychadelic adventures, it'd be this. Go with people you trust, avoid people that aren't tripping themselves and know that once you've taken something, that's it - normal service ain't going to be resumed anytime soon. So just go with it, be safe and be prepared for some very sore laughing muscles.
