fanimal Posted 27 March, 2011 Posted 27 March, 2011 Including, starting next Saturday, 5 games in 15 days. Then a break, then 3 in a week. Let us hope the team are not April Fools and their performances are Above Average. This month will define our season and and probably next as well, hugely significant for the Club and All of us As Ardent Aficionados! No time for Animosity, All for One and One for All!
dubai_phil Posted 27 March, 2011 Posted 27 March, 2011 Is someone thinking we've become the A-Team all of a sudden? Jaidi as Mr T That works
Footballfan Posted 27 March, 2011 Posted 27 March, 2011 I am going to do them all if I can get the away tickets
SNSUN Posted 27 March, 2011 Posted 27 March, 2011 Make the most of it, the footballless summer months will bring boredom aplenty.
Doctoroncall Posted 28 March, 2011 Posted 28 March, 2011 We better start with a winning run, three wins will see us put the pressure on Huddersfield and Peterborough.
opthomps Posted 28 March, 2011 Posted 28 March, 2011 Make the most of it, the footballless summer months will bring boredom aplenty. This is true. It will be miles less boring if we go up though. Massive amounts of speculation on new signings, instead of bracing ourselves for losing players and general misery. Promotion is absolutely key.
Dellman Posted 28 March, 2011 Posted 28 March, 2011 Will we do an Arsenal and collapse at the vital moment and see the season dissolve to nothing but tears? there's a risk but I think this lot are tougher and more resolute and it will all be ok. IMHO
slickmick Posted 28 March, 2011 Posted 28 March, 2011 Hate to sound like good old Alpine Saint, but we will need the luck of others slipping up because I think we will struggle.
Matthew Le God Posted 28 March, 2011 Posted 28 March, 2011 Hate to sound like good old Alpine Saint, but we will need the luck of others slipping up because I think we will struggle. Peterborough and Huddersfield need Saints to slip up because it is currently out of their hands.
slickmick Posted 28 March, 2011 Posted 28 March, 2011 Peterborough and Huddersfield need Saints to slip up because it is currently out of their hands. Stating the obvious.
PokingFun Posted 28 March, 2011 Posted 28 March, 2011 Hate to sound like good old Alpine Saint, but we will need the luck of others slipping up because I think we will struggle. What is your reasoning behind this statement?
slickmick Posted 28 March, 2011 Posted 28 March, 2011 What is your reasoning behind this statement? 1/ Something Alpine said in the other thread, when we have played our games in hand we have averaged 0.5 points per game (Charlton, Walsall). 2/ I also think we have played quite nervously, particulary against teams in the bottom half of the table. (plymouth, walsall, tranmere ect) 3/ If Lallana or Chamberlain are out for several games it will make it all that much harder. 4/ When I say it needs the others to slip up I mean the Likes of Huddersfield not winning 6 of their last seven games. That will leave us needing 8 wins out of 10 which I can't see us doing. Its all about which team has the most bottle and confidence from now. A win against MK Dons and slip ups for the other two this week end will make me feel a bit easier.
Johnny Bognor Posted 28 March, 2011 Posted 28 March, 2011 Is someone thinking we've become the A-Team all of a sudden? Jaidi as Mr T That works Adkins as Hannibal? Fonte as Face? But who should be Murdoch?
fanimal Posted 30 March, 2011 Author Posted 30 March, 2011 Annoying that teams like Rochdale and Brentford are still in with a sniff of the play offs, we need some mid table end of season not bothered ones, thinking of the beach - Hartlepool perhaps?
dellboypete Posted 30 March, 2011 Posted 30 March, 2011 Just reading that Brighton played 8 in March and won all of them - which has probably sealed promotion for them. Hopefully we'll emulate that in April

On lower league teams we often don't approach them with the intensity that we should. However, I take confidence from say Sheff Wed where they came and parked the bus in front of the goal and we managed to break them down. That is a tactic that previously we have struggled with. PS. I don't think an average over two games has much credability.
fanimal Posted 1 April, 2011 Author Posted 1 April, 2011 Well, here we are, today the start of a huge month and tomorrow the start of a big week. Let us hope we are here on Sunday May 1st, a notable day for all of us, basking in the glow of a run of wins, sat in 2nd place, with promotion still in our own hands, looking forward to the last two games and a celebration at SMS! Just want to get on with it and get the job done, time going too slow!
The9 Posted 1 April, 2011 Posted 1 April, 2011 Well, here we are, today the start of a huge month and tomorrow the start of a big week. Just want to get on with it and get the job done, time going too slow! If we win the next 8 games I'd like us to be top, to be honest. We need 19 points to be guaranteed a Play-Off Place, anyway. That total will drop every time Leyton Orient (or the teams around them) drop points or we gain them. That could be sorted within 2 weeks though.
fanimal Posted 2 April, 2011 Author Posted 2 April, 2011 A good start with the Posh goalie being an April Fool!
Saint-Fred Posted 30 April, 2011 Posted 30 April, 2011 And it was an awesome April...7 wins out of 8. Well Done NA...credit where it is due!
