hypochondriac Posted 27 March, 2011 Posted 27 March, 2011 I don't think lallana is any better than fonte for his position. I agree.I actually think he is better and more consistent but I can understand if people think otherwise.
SuperMikey Posted 27 March, 2011 Posted 27 March, 2011 no way barnards as good as jaidi this season. Jaidis not making any mistakes and scoring goals. Barnard's not making any mistakes and scoring goals Jaidi has been very good this season, but Barnard is more integral to the team imho.
NickG Posted 27 March, 2011 Posted 27 March, 2011 of 36 league games KD -36 Lambert 35 Fonte - 33 Lallana - 24 Jaidi - 22 Barnard - 19 For likes of Lallana (my pick) to win he should really be performing over last 10 games as missed so many
rolosfc Posted 28 March, 2011 Posted 28 March, 2011 1. Fonte 2. Chamberlain 3. Hammond 4. Jaidi 5. Harding Lallana would almost definitely have been player of the season if it wasn't for injuries though.
jamesfp1 Posted 28 March, 2011 Posted 28 March, 2011 Everyone seems to be forgetting Lamberts 17 goals and 20+ assists. Would we not be in a relegation battle without these!?
West End Saint Posted 28 March, 2011 Posted 28 March, 2011 1. Fonte 2. Chamberlain 3. Hammond 4. Jaidi 5. Harding Lallana would almost definitely have been player of the season if it wasn't for injuries though. I would take issue with Harding & Hammond being in your list for player of the year I thought Harding was ace last season but this season for me he has been the week link I have seen him have several poor games this season. Hammond whilst you can't complain about his commitment I dont think he would be in the side week in week out if Morgan was fit he makes to many sideways & backward passes a decent player that gives 100% but not enough quality for player of the season. I know he has been out injured a fair bit this season but Lallana is our best player havent we missed him when he was out he makes us tick & is the most creative player we have so for me it is betwen him our best player & Fonte our most consistent he has been class at the back Mr reliable he just edges it from Lallana due to games played
Supersubpuckett Posted 28 March, 2011 Posted 28 March, 2011 1. Lallana - we don't win without him 2. Lambert - all those goals and assists 3. Any player from fonte, harding, chambo & barnard
Jeff Le Taxi Posted 28 March, 2011 Posted 28 March, 2011 Lallana Butterfield (under appreciated in these lists) Barnard
Son of Bob Posted 28 March, 2011 Posted 28 March, 2011 Defender - Fonte Midfield - Lallana Striker - Barnard Overall Lallana shades it for me. He's the only player that really deflates me if he's not in the starting line up.
Chez Posted 28 March, 2011 Posted 28 March, 2011 (edited) Everyone seems to be forgetting Lamberts 17 goals and 20+ assists. Would we not be in a relegation battle without these!? first third of the season he was terrible. Lallana has been outstanding. I rate him so highly yet over the last few years I have been to so many games where he only gets 5 out of 10 (I'm a tough marker) - this season there haven't been any of those, so despite his injury I still think I'd go for him (assuming he plays more games till the end of the season) just ahead of Fonte. Jardi for third place. Another tremendous season of ball winning. Edited 28 March, 2011 by Chez
sidthesquid Posted 28 March, 2011 Posted 28 March, 2011 I think Lallana - as others have said, we seriuously struggle without him. Other serious contenders for me are Hammond, Fonte & Chamberlain. Nobody else has contributed consistently enough throughout the season.
rshephard3 Posted 28 March, 2011 Posted 28 March, 2011 Hammond, fonte and lallana are absolutely integral. As is KD. Hammond for me this season. Much underappreciated on this forum. He can do everything and more and has had more superb performances this season than any other player imo.
sandwichsaint Posted 28 March, 2011 Posted 28 March, 2011 On the games I've seen (4 home, 5 away) and 3 on the telly! Kd 7.5 Butt 7.5 FR 6 JF 8 RJ 8 DH 6.5 RD 6 AOC 7 MS 8.5 DH 8, my player of the season if he keeps this up till the end of the season RC 6.5 started with 8's but now on 5's + 6's AL 8 Gully 8 RL 7 started low but has improved since Xmas LB 7.5 Also seen: Bart 7, OG 6.5, JP 7, N'g 5.5. As I said, just the games I've seen so fire away!
Chap in the Chapel Posted 28 March, 2011 Posted 28 March, 2011 Fonte - he rarely has a poor game. He's scored five goals and has managed to avoid getting suspended as well, testament to his discipline, timing and positional play. Lallana in second and the quietly consistent and effective Butterfield in third.
Littlelat17 Posted 28 March, 2011 Posted 28 March, 2011 Fonte, Lallana, Chamberlain have been our stand out players and think will end the season as the top 3 in the vote. Think Fonte has been the most consistent out of the three though.. Barnard, Jaidi, Davis Butterfield and Hammond have been important players, but havent been as stand out as the above three. Think Harding has been solid, but not been as consistent as last season - maybe the fact he looks a little less confident when Adam isnt playing in front of him, maybe a result of this.
The9 Posted 28 March, 2011 Posted 28 March, 2011 Lallana has been a class apart in practically every match. Fonte's been very solid but not as impressive as last season and Chamberlain is only at Lallana's level about one game in six at the moment. Butterfield has impressed in the last couple of months too.
Berkers Posted 28 March, 2011 Posted 28 March, 2011 All this goes to show that we a good all round - Rickie for me.
dickyhale Posted 28 March, 2011 Posted 28 March, 2011 Fonte looks out of place in this league. Would not be surprised if Pardew spent some of Andy Carroll's windfull for his services.............
BlagdonSaint Posted 28 March, 2011 Posted 28 March, 2011 Fonte looks out of place in this league. Would not be surprised if Pardew spent some of Andy Carroll's windfull for his services............. If that's the case - Pardew can feck right off.
