Roger Posted 26 March, 2011 Posted 26 March, 2011 For me it has to be Jaidi. Hes been awesome and has even added goals. He obviously loves the club and is much fitter than last season. My marks for season would be; Davis 7 Butterfield 7 Jaidi 8 Fonte 8 Harding 6 Chambo 7 Hammond 7 Chaplow 6 Morgan 6(showing potential though before injury) Lallana 8-Would be player of season but lots of injuries so far. Lambert 7 Barnard 7 Guly 6.5 Richardson 6 Dickson 5
saintsmike25 Posted 26 March, 2011 Posted 26 March, 2011 Jaidi? I dunno i think he's a good player but I don't think he's outperformed Chamberlain or Lallana.
Roger Posted 26 March, 2011 Author Posted 26 March, 2011 Jaidi? I dunno i think he's a good player but I don't think he's outperformed Chamberlain or Lallana. Definately chambo, hes been a bit off on form since xmas imo. Also adam has had lots of injuries and his goalscoring feats arent as good as a result.
beatlesaint Posted 26 March, 2011 Posted 26 March, 2011 Fonte for me most definitely. Another vote for Fonte here too !
Asaint4ever Posted 26 March, 2011 Posted 26 March, 2011 I'm gonna say Harding! And I'm gonna get stick for it, but I think he has been brill this season!
hypochondriac Posted 26 March, 2011 Posted 26 March, 2011 I'm gonna say Harding! And I'm gonna get stick for it, but I think he has been brill this season! Good player but Fonte has been the key reason why we have the second best defence in the division. We have done well attacking but the responsibility for that is shared around more players in that area of the pitch.
NickG Posted 26 March, 2011 Posted 26 March, 2011 Lallana and Fonte pretty clear of others. ten games still way to go! Honourable mentions - Guly - his form really turned our season around Jaidi Morgan Lambert
ottery st mary Posted 26 March, 2011 Posted 26 March, 2011 (edited) Fonte Hammond Lallana Harding Sorry forgot Alex......in this group.... Edited 27 March, 2011 by ottery st mary
saintmatt Posted 26 March, 2011 Posted 26 March, 2011 glad to see some hammond love on here! he's my player of season so far
Roger Posted 26 March, 2011 Author Posted 26 March, 2011 glad to see some hammond love on here! he's my player of season so far I just think people have been on the whisky tonight. Hes played okay recently but not the best player this season he was ****e before xmas.
SNSUN Posted 26 March, 2011 Posted 26 March, 2011 Lallana, sod the injuries, we've struggled without him in the side for a reason. Keep him until he retires and he has the potential to win every player of the season award no matter what division we're in. Premiership quality imo.
Dellman Posted 26 March, 2011 Posted 26 March, 2011 Fonte and Lallana, probably tipping to Fonte because he's played more. Hammond had a bad spell early and got dropped can't be him if we judge the season over-all rather than last few games
musesaint Posted 26 March, 2011 Posted 26 March, 2011 Lallana. Because he is God... and he signed a 4 year contract
Causer Posted 26 March, 2011 Posted 26 March, 2011 Lallana, class above the rest of the league, we are dreadful without him.
Lighthouse Posted 26 March, 2011 Posted 26 March, 2011 Top 5 Fonte Lallana Barnard (Can't believe nobody has mentioned him yet. We are so much more of a threat when he plays) Chamberlain Harding
Lighthouse Posted 26 March, 2011 Posted 26 March, 2011 Lallana and Fonte pretty clear of others. ten games still way to go! Honourable mentions - Guly - his form really turned our season around Jaidi Morgan Lambert What, that 10 day purple patch in January?
krissyboy31 Posted 26 March, 2011 Posted 26 March, 2011 Lallana, class above the rest of the league, we are dreadful without him. I wouldn't go as far as saying we are dreadful without him but he makes one hell of a difference to the team when he does play. I agree with the first part of the sentence though!
S-Clarke Posted 26 March, 2011 Posted 26 March, 2011 Fonte Lallana Chambo Hammond Harding is my top 5...
NickG Posted 26 March, 2011 Posted 26 March, 2011 What, that 10 day purple patch in January? when Guly hit form and starting scoring, the team seemed to be hitting a more confident level
Nessy7 Posted 26 March, 2011 Posted 26 March, 2011 Barnard for me. When I see us play, he makes all the runs that I'm shouting at him to do. I'm not saying they're the right ones all the time, it just makes it easy to like him.
ericb Posted 27 March, 2011 Posted 27 March, 2011 lallana or harding for me, jaidi has had some good games but been a liability at times. Reminds me in some ways of Franny, makes a lot of mistakes but is a cult hero (damned with faint praise perhaps!)
niceandfriendly Posted 27 March, 2011 Posted 27 March, 2011 For people missing out Lallana: Are you doing that just because it's unfair on the others to include him? If he doesn't win it'll be criminal. Let's be honest, even if he'd only played one game this whole season he'd still win Player of the Season award. He's twice as good as all his teammates.
benjii Posted 27 March, 2011 Posted 27 March, 2011 lallana or harding for me, jaidi has had some good games but been a liability at times. Reminds me in some ways of Franny, makes a lot of mistakes but is a cult hero (damned with faint praise perhaps!) Jaidi is miles better than Franny and rarely makes the same sort of uber-cockups that Franny used to make.
Thedelldays Posted 27 March, 2011 Posted 27 March, 2011 Fonte Chambo Harding Barnard Lallana After fonte, the rest in no order
Windmill Arm 2 Posted 27 March, 2011 Posted 27 March, 2011 Kelvin ! he's won matches for us this season !
farawaysaint Posted 27 March, 2011 Posted 27 March, 2011 This season has been totally below expectations, therefore I don't believe any player is deserving of the accolade
Leslie Charteris Posted 27 March, 2011 Posted 27 March, 2011 Jose Fonte for me, I think he is the main reason we've conceded less than a goal a game, on average.
Colinjb Posted 27 March, 2011 Posted 27 March, 2011 In order: 1) Fonte 2) Lallana 3) Harding 4) Chamberlain 5) Lambert
whizzpop Posted 27 March, 2011 Posted 27 March, 2011 Ox-Chamberlain Lallana Fonte Barnard Chaplow The above have all had decent patches this season...I think there hasnt been a consistently good player due to injuries and lack of form therefore it will probably be quite close come the end of the season.
Jimmy_D Posted 27 March, 2011 Posted 27 March, 2011 Pretty close between Fonte, Jaidi and Chambo for me. It'd have been Lallana by a long way if it weren't for the injuries though I reckon.
revolution saint Posted 27 March, 2011 Posted 27 March, 2011 I guess it's really got to be Lallana - best player technical in the division by a mile and we struggle without him. Can't fault his workrate or commitment either. Barney has to come close though.
Roger Posted 27 March, 2011 Author Posted 27 March, 2011 Lallana Fonte Chamberlain Barnard Lambert no way barnards as good as jaidi this season. Jaidis not making any mistakes and scoring goals.
hypochondriac Posted 27 March, 2011 Posted 27 March, 2011 For people missing out Lallana: Are you doing that just because it's unfair on the others to include him? If he doesn't win it'll be criminal. Let's be honest, even if he'd only played one game this whole season he'd still win Player of the Season award. He's twice as good as all his teammates. Seemingly not as it seems to me to be even between Fonte and Lallana.
Roger Posted 27 March, 2011 Author Posted 27 March, 2011 Seemingly not as it seems to me to be even between Fonte and Lallana. I don't think lallana is any better than fonte for his position.
