Have to say he does say silly things at times, last week he was spouting you would still win the league.

It's still possible we can win the league, so that's what we aim for.

A club like Brighton, 10pts clear at the top of the league and on the verge of Championship football, shouldn't be hunting for comments that are 5 months old in order to find motivation to go up. It's a small-time mentality and they should be better than that.

Good luck to them, they are up, and I will be interested to see how their 'passing from the back' style goes down in a league that is even more physical, faster, and obviously better. A friend went to Stoke vs. Brighton in the FA Cup and said Brighton tried this and got humiliated, so it will be interesting to see if they try to mix it up a bit or stay with it.

I don't think he said we would win the league (TBH), I think he said that was still our target. A reasonable thing to say, isn't it? (We're going to try to do our best.)

He was asked if he thought we could catch you and win the league, he was hardly going to say no was he?

"We can still win league".

yes.. it's called mathematics. It is possible we can still win league. My missus teaches maths if you have trouble understanding how it works :)

Typical BHA and those Seagulls seem a tad obsessed about us... they should just be enjoying the great form that Poyet has got out of them and not really worry about the rest. Whatever they think of Adkins, had we had the points per game ratio that we have under him, from the start of the season, the game at teh withdean, could well have been the championship decider... I am sure Adkins knows the reality, but mathematically they have not won the league yet, so nothing wrong in what he has said...

its possible that the scousers could still pip the munichs to the prem title. Not likely, but possible. Dont suppose theyre aiming to do that tho, are they.

Its called unrealistic mathematics.

They really do seem to be obsessed!!!!!

A rather small time, Bournemouthesuqe mentality, so happy to be getting one over their "rivals".

They would be better off putting their time and effort in to celebrating a great season.

"Unrealistic mathematics"? Oh, dear. This sort of maths is a matter of probabilities - it's not about realism.

Why don't you just admit that you're wrong!

Congratulations to you BHA, your'e team have been the best team this season. Great consistency. I think we are favourites to join you. If we do what we should we will go up. We will have to play a lot better than tues though.

Indeed. They are as good as up and are awaiting the champions corination, yet they are more bothered about us. Strange.

You have lost me, I was responding to you saying Saints weren't the favourites to go up with Brighton this season.

Me too. I have to say we were very poor on tuesday though.

Look at end of day not looking for argument. Do hope you finish second, at the end of the day you dont belong in this league.

Thankyou very much my friend and lets hope we both go up next year aswell. I have no grudge against brighton whatsoever. I remember how good their fans were at last day at the dell when they played that match. Plus I won 2 tennis tournaments at the withdean complex. lol

Brighton have done brilliantly this season, they're going up and they know it. But my god are the f*cking obsessed with Adkins comments and us in general. Go back to the 'they will need to catch up with us' comment, they still bang on about it. They dont seem able to take it with a pinch of salt at all.

The whole we can still win it is silly. We know it, Adkins knows it.. we wont win the league. But just saying that thats our aim is not that big a deal.. why shouldnt we aim for top? Get over yourselves Brighton, your coming across as really cringworthy tbh. The fact that there is a new thread on us every time i look on their forum is pretty funny..

Think the Brighton obession with us is a compliment, much like cherries, and nothing to get annoyed about.

Bournemouth players and team we all singing about playing us when they got promoted last season - it wasn't about reaching league 1 it was about saints.

Brighton have been very impressive this season (results rather than style!). Its good to see a club doing well and positive. However, rather than enjoying being top, or looking forward to the inevitable championship season, the thing they are focussing on is being higher than us.

Says a huge amount about our stature in football and I like it.

it actually says more about your deluded arrogance and your current [gone in may] manager's comments about keeping up with you - you're 'stature' is a third division football team; get used to it

Its our style that has got us our results. As i said on previous post you dont belong in this division so there is a compliment. Wouldnt bother me if you finished above us as long as we got promoted. As for looking forward to the championship we havent made it yet and when we have secured that place to the championship then we can look forward to it.

nah it doesn't. You're wrong. And can you please point out this "arrogance" (from our fanbase) and explain to me, in no uncertain terms, why you class it as such.

Bless 'em.

They will go up and they deserve it.

The thing I can't work out is this....

Dell made all seater... sell out every wk hence need for a new stadium.

Now have an average of 21.5k per home game (Dell capacity was 15k)

BHA (top of the league etc etc ).. play at the Withdean. Capacity 8850. Average 7199.

i.e can't fill it, but someone's found the money to fund a bigger stadium.

I may just be being thick but why???

Money down the drain surely

They have already sold 14,000 season tickets for next year. Add larger Championship away followings and larger walk ups wanting to goto Championship games at a proper stadium, plus corporate seating and they won't have a problem selling tickets for their 22.5k stadium. If anything it may be slightly too small for them.

Bring on the 'its the away fans' retort. Despite their being home seats empty regardless

Well in that case I just don't get it.. 5000 fans suddenly come out of the woodwork and want to watch BHA week in week out?

Why aren't they trying to go to games now?

When we played at the Dell, towards the end I was a member.. used to get on the phone every other Monday morning to try tp buy tickets.. some weeks I managed to get through and other times I used to drive 20 miles up the road so I could get Radio Solent :)

Anyway I digress... fecking BHA

Problem for them is GP will go elsewhere in the summer and they've got no cash to strengthen whereas Saints.. :)

Indeed Brighton have been very very good this year, but at SMS earlier this season they were very cynical & very lucky to have a ref that tolerated their nasty off the ball kicks etc. They came for a point & almost nicked a win with a shocking penalty decision. No worries, they have been better than us this year. Yet they still worry themselves about us..................very strange!

You are making an unfair comparison...

- Saints were at the Dell whilst in the Premiership playing some of the best teams in the world.

- Brighton at the Withdean in the 3rd tier playing against 3rd tier teams.

- You really can't compare the Dell with the Withdean. The Dell was out of date, but the Withdean is something else! It would put off a lot of fans.

- They have sold 14,000 season tickets because spec wise, the Amex is one of the best stadiums in the country. New stadiums = rise in interest.

Poor views of the pitch like this do not attract large numbers of fans no matter how well you are playing...

What makes you think they have no cash? They have an extremely rich owner that just funded a £95m stadium and is funding a new training ground.

For someone who is a Man U fan you seem to be very obsessed with this 3rd Div team, Saintsweb (full member) Saints Mad, any more SFC sites you visit?

Ahh.. have just done the research....

1. yes -rich owner but maybe if we both go up and we're vying for the same players you would think we're in a better position just because of recent history.

2. If BHA have a poor season it would be interesting to see how many season ticket holders renew... for me you're either a football fan or you're not. I went to the ****ty old dell for 'Rumbleow (sp) cup games v whoever on a wet and windy night in the family centre on top of Milton Rd.

****ed on for 2 hrs with a poor view.

MOST people go because they love their team.....

Just in a failed bid for Will Hoskins, deal worth up to 1 million according to the local paper.
