Either their very clever or their heads are in the clouds

All of which will not make one iota of a difference to the actual temperatures being experienced, as the Temp readings taken for official observations are "in shade temperatures" - and these will be around the 40c mark daily.

We often see MINIMUM overnight temperatures of 40c overnight in the height of summer - although the norm is around 36c - the only thing the clouds will achieve is to actually make things worse by increasing the humidity ... as Homer would say DOH....... which is quite apt as DOH is also the IATA code for Doha Airport which is the Capital of Qatar .... LOL

so it'll be barely different to the temperatures at the African cup of nations, where it isn't uncommon for it to be 35-40 degrees when they hold it in the winter and then PL managers still wonder why they don't hold it in the summer :D

Also they got over a decade of technological advancements to come yet which is an eternity.

Africa is a huge continent, and split in half by the equator. A game played between say Egypt and South Africa in June could see temps of high 30's if it was played in Cairo, but as low as 0 and in snow/ frost if played in Cape Town or Jo'bourg as it would be mid winter there. So there is no easy solution to the African problem.

But Qatar will be scorching hot every June and it shouldn't come as a surprise to them that maybe this is a bad idea !!!
