Chez Posted 30 March, 2011 Share Posted 30 March, 2011 Chambo is still on crutches and wearing a protective boot, going for a scan tomorrow to find out more. it must have taken a long time for the swelling to go down then - which is a bad sign - unless of course this is a second scan to see how the recovery is going. Saints foreva Posted 30 March, 2011 Share Posted 30 March, 2011 If this is true and Oxo is out for the rest of the season then why didn't Adkins bring in a winger on loan? Don't really feel confident with N'Guessan running down the wing, he seems like a player who has very poor ball control and the Leicester fans said his crossing was **** when he was playing for them... NickG Posted 30 March, 2011 Share Posted 30 March, 2011 if true disappointing, but won;t have the impact losing Lallana, Fonte or Lambert would - we have other options
dan17 Posted 30 March, 2011 Share Posted 30 March, 2011 What actually happened to result in his injury? Not seen it myself....was it a bad challenge or did he just go over on it?
Lallana's Left Peg Posted 30 March, 2011 Share Posted 30 March, 2011 I don't know if the lack of news coming from the club is comforting or worrying! Although I do recall Adkins at several times throughout the season being coy on players coming back from injury so as not to give the opposition any advantage in preparing. The9 Posted 30 March, 2011 Share Posted 30 March, 2011 Why do people keep saying the posh were no where before fergie came in??? That clearly is made up bollix Assuming you mean this season, he arrived (back) on 12th Jan, at which time they were 5th with a game in hand on us but 4 points behind. http://www.statto.com/football/teams/southampton/2010-2011/table/2011-01-11 We were second, weirdly enough. Now's probably not the time to mention we were 3 points behind Brighton but had played a game more.
NickG Posted 30 March, 2011 Share Posted 30 March, 2011 1) IMO he will be gone one way or another before next season. The interest in him was at a fever pitch then. The money generated could have been spent on the whole squad improvement, to make sure we go up not the what ifs? 2) Before the return of Ferguson they were not in the picture and we could have bought him then. 3) It is fairly obvious that we have not spent like we did last season. IMO if Ml was alive he would have invested more in the team 4) well if we only have one person in that position it shows the weakness of our squad, I called for us to buy Antonio at the time of the Ox saga They were not in the playoff places in Jan i think you will find. i think they were quite a points adrift. before the return of Fergie they were 4 points off 2nd with a game in hand.....he has now got them to......errr .... 4 points off 2nd with game in hand! was from earlier in thread - there does seem to be a misconception about fergie's impact - not as impressive as Adkins has been. Saint Charlie Posted 30 March, 2011 Share Posted 30 March, 2011 Would be a massive blow if AOC is out for the season. Would need Guly, Forte or N'Guessan to majorly step up to the plate!
St Marco Posted 30 March, 2011 Share Posted 30 March, 2011 Why do people keep saying the posh were no where before fergie came in??? That clearly is made up bollix Sort of the same as people who say we were in the **** after our first 3 games of the season. What those people never seem to mention is that after those 3 games Brighton,Hudders and Saints all had 4 points. We had the same results. If we fail to get promoted expect to see that excuse used a lot more!
LGTL Posted 30 March, 2011 Share Posted 30 March, 2011 I'd try Guly, he looked half decent when he came on down the right at Charlton. Doesn't give the team much pace though.
benjii Posted 30 March, 2011 Share Posted 30 March, 2011 If Chamberlain is out it doesn't necessarily mean we have no options on the right. First, Lallana can play there no problems and Forte/N'Guessan can play on the left. Second, we can play with three midfielders and someone in the hole - particularly now we have signed Stephens. Third, Guly or even Richardson could play on the right. It's a shame if true but shouldn't prevent us from winning the games we need to win to go up. bjk Posted 30 March, 2011 Author Share Posted 30 March, 2011 Heard last week from someone within the club that as far as he was aware both Lallana and Chaimberlain were ok and although not 100% sure he didn't expect Chaimberlain to be out for no more than 2 weeks. Window Cleaner Posted 31 March, 2011 Share Posted 31 March, 2011 It was a late challenge by a Charlton player. Certainly not the first late challenge we've seen on AOC this season then. We should "shut him down" until we get into a league where hackers in the Chopper Harris mode aren't permitted to exist by referees and managers alike. What a relief getting to the NPC is going to be.
Thedelldays Posted 2 April, 2011 Share Posted 2 April, 2011 So did I just imagine Guly, Forte, Chaplow, N'Guessan and Stephens signed for Saints in 2011? Inacse you were not aware we signed n'guessen and forte in jan Wow, sends shivers through your spine those to make us get the 5 year plan to work yet, our "back up players" that you say dont send shivers down your spine did the business today...
