Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 23 March, 2011 Posted 23 March, 2011 Got to be worth having one so we can post our central midfield woes when no-body is brought into the building or climbs on the bus after a couple of days speculation n'est pas?
S-Clarke Posted 23 March, 2011 Posted 23 March, 2011 Dale Stephens is the latest rumour, young talented lad from Oldham.
sambosa75 Posted 23 March, 2011 Posted 23 March, 2011 I just saw Milan Ćulum from FK Željezničar Sarajevo coming out of the Northam Social Club.
benjii Posted 23 March, 2011 Posted 23 March, 2011 Dale Stephens is the latest rumour, young talented lad from Oldham. Oldham?! FFS - we should be signing players from the Premier League. And when I say "Premier League" I don't mean some kid from Fulham, I mean someone who regularly gets on the bench for United of Manchester.
benjii Posted 23 March, 2011 Posted 23 March, 2011 I just saw Milan Ćulum from FK Željezničar Sarajevo coming out of the Northam Social Club. He is good mates with Rupert Lowe and the car park attendant at The Dell.

Totally agree with you, why haven't we gone for someone like Owen? Or even Fletcher at Man utd? they're not getting games at the moment. Our lack of ambition is shocking.
sambosa75 Posted 23 March, 2011 Posted 23 March, 2011 He is good mates with Rupert Lowe and the car park attendant at The Dell. It's all coming together. Was it me or did I just walk past José Domingo Salcedo of Club Social y Deportivo Colo-Colo enjoying a post medical pint at the King Alfred? A real midfield dynamo... surprised we could get a work permit for him personally.
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 23 March, 2011 Author Posted 23 March, 2011 The deadline is tomorrow. Too late to start it at midday tomorrow. We'd lose too much paranoia time!
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 23 March, 2011 Author Posted 23 March, 2011 http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12875_6830989,00.html Hudders have signed Sean Morrison from Reading. Let's hope we don't miss our last chance to strengthen before the big push!
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 23 March, 2011 Author Posted 23 March, 2011 And Michael Stewart has joined Charlton after being out of contract from a Turkish club. Only 30, done well in SPL, could've missed out there as he seems a reasonably competent centre mid.

Our lack of ambition is shocking. Kakuta, Malouda... the list is endless. One of them must want to join us. I can only conclude we are skint.

He is good mates with Rupert Lowe and the car park attendant at The Dell. You’ve got that wrong – he’s a mate of a black African mate of an Italian mate of a Serie ‘A’ ball boy who knows someone who Cortese knows from his Italian football connections, so we are bound to get him on loan.
david in sweden Posted 23 March, 2011 Posted 23 March, 2011 Got to be worth having one so we can post our central midfield woes when no-body is brought into the building or climbs on the bus after a couple of days speculation n'est pas? with Puncheon on the road to no return, and Holmes, Schneiderlin, ..and now Lallana and AOC injured we have to sign AT LEAST one ..why not two ? Ten games to go, we'll never be better placed and have to secure the stregth of the squad.
Crab Lungs Posted 23 March, 2011 Posted 23 March, 2011 I don't get it. There are players out there that our surely within our budget that we could attract... yet everything is silent, as always. We're pretty threadbare too so I do have to wonder if we actually do have the resources, even for a short-term loan. Is it resources? Is it that we can't find a player that would improve our squad and would be willing to play for us (which I don't believe for a second considering there are hundreds, probably thousands who'd love to and are good enough). Or is crazy Nige confident with what he's got?

Or is crazy Nige confident with what he's got? We are only "threadbare" if Lallana and Chamberlain are injured for some time and even then we have options. It has nothing to do with resources IMO. If we had "resources" issues we would have sold Chamberlain in January and wouldn't have signed Guly and Chaplow. If Lallana and Chamberlain are going to be alright within the next week or so then we don't need anyone, although it would be good to get someone at CM if there is one out there who could challenge for a first team place. It's nice that there is a day (today) in between the match and the closing of the window as it gives us a chance to assess Lallana and Chambo.

Ok, threadbare was probably an overstatement until the facts are known about Lallana/Ox. However, a CM would do very nicely... a Graham Kavanagh type would do a half decent job in helping us over the line (as he's done with a few clubs before). Someone who's just been there before, unspectacular but solid with the experience, just in case anyone starts to wobble a bit..

I still reckon there is something up our sleeves. Forte was a deadline day signing I think...

Well, it'd be nice to see some movement. I don't know why, but I find myself on the PFA Players website looking at the free transfers! Only players that would 'bulk out' our squad and add maybe a little something are Kevin McLeod (left midfielder) and James Scowcroft (Rickie back up?) though. Darren Powell's there too, lol. :-o
SNSUN Posted 23 March, 2011 Posted 23 March, 2011 I have it on good authority that Rudi Skacel will finally sign for Saints, thus ending the six year saga.
Window Cleaner Posted 23 March, 2011 Posted 23 March, 2011 Michael McIndoe. Heard it here first I doubt that it would be welcomed as good news around here. Indifferent myself because I think we can pass on getting anyone.
benjii Posted 23 March, 2011 Posted 23 March, 2011 Michael McIndoe. Heard it here first I did indeed. And where did you hear it?
Saint Charlie Posted 23 March, 2011 Posted 23 March, 2011 Michael McIndoe. Heard it here first He was on loan at MK Dons earlier in the season.
saint77 Posted 23 March, 2011 Posted 23 March, 2011 He was on loan at MK Dons earlier in the season. wasnt pardew going to sign him just before he was sacked
MerceSaint28 Posted 23 March, 2011 Posted 23 March, 2011 thats a pretty poor loan if true....you can't tell me we cant get some good kids from prem teams, especially ones who are safe. Frimpong from Arsenal would be of been great...
DT Posted 23 March, 2011 Posted 23 March, 2011 Apparently we're signing Na va Hudovim from some European third tier club.
Wade Garrett Posted 23 March, 2011 Posted 23 March, 2011 Apparently we're after Hu Fuk-isi from Grampus 8 in Japan.
BLINK Posted 23 March, 2011 Posted 23 March, 2011 Apparently we're after Hu Fuk-isi from Grampus 8 in Japan. I heard that deal is dead in the water.

Frimpong from Arsenal would be of been great... Would like to think any loan signing we make would be in a similar way to that of Guly and Chaplow, where they may well have a future with us.
Crab Lungs Posted 23 March, 2011 Posted 23 March, 2011 McIndoe would be decent... VERY quick winger. Blows a bit hot 'n' cold, but more than capable...
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 23 March, 2011 Author Posted 23 March, 2011 McIndoe would be decent... VERY quick winger. Blows a bit hot 'n' cold, but more than capable... If he could also play centre mid so as to cover Deano, Chappers, Adam and Oxo - even better!!
thorpie the sinner Posted 23 March, 2011 Posted 23 March, 2011 Really we wish we could have snaffled Howard, he would have been a star!
LVSaint Posted 23 March, 2011 Posted 23 March, 2011 I heard that deal is dead in the water. ohh ****ing hell!
Cestrian Saint Posted 23 March, 2011 Posted 23 March, 2011 I know Jamie Scowcroft. He's been playing his football at St. Neots! I still believe he could do a job for a club in L1. That said, he seems pretty content with life at the moment. Spending loads of time travelling to watch Man Utd. :-/
Crab Lungs Posted 23 March, 2011 Posted 23 March, 2011 Really we wish we could have snaffled Howard, he would have been a star! Now there's a word that should be used more often: "Snaffled".
Saint Charlie Posted 23 March, 2011 Posted 23 March, 2011 Bournemouth left back Wiggins has handed in a transfer request after bids from Watford were rejected. Suprised anyone above L1 wants him, didn't have a great time in all three games against us this season.
LeBenali Posted 23 March, 2011 Posted 23 March, 2011 Forte would be decent... VERY quick winger. Blows a bit hot 'n' cold, but more than capable... Corrected for you

Gemmel Posted 23 March, 2011 Posted 23 March, 2011 I am not sure how telling it would be if we didnt bring anybody in (And fully expect us to) given how imperative it is to the business plan to go up this season.
benjii Posted 23 March, 2011 Posted 23 March, 2011 It's not really that imperative. This is year 2. If we go up in year 3 would we still have 2 years to get to the Premier League in accordance with the stated time line. (Queue someone saying who the squad will be "ravaged", "decimated", "ruined" etc if we don't go up.)

TBF we'd probably lose Adam, Fonte, Oxo etc - but I'm sure we'd reinvest and be as strong next time. (not saying that'll happen, as we'll be promoted this year!!)
