Dalek2003 Posted 22 March, 2011 Posted 22 March, 2011 Disappointed after we were 1-0 up but another point towards our goal. Shame Lallana has a groin injury (do not know how bad it is) but he is a quick healer Lets hope so and what about Alex ?
DrZuess1979 the 2nd Posted 22 March, 2011 Posted 22 March, 2011 Annoyed that we might have lost Oxo AND Lallana Alittle P!ssed of that Bwp got the equalizer BUT another point gained away from home Away support was SUPERB as allways
Saint_clark Posted 22 March, 2011 Author Posted 22 March, 2011 You are wasting your breath with sense like that on here, mate. How about waiting until we actually play them before judging the potential results?
Simster Posted 22 March, 2011 Posted 22 March, 2011 I actually thought we could do it tonight. Sitting here thinking that we're not gonna be that team anymore. Ah well, I suppose it would be boring to be 10 points clear at the top at this stage of the season..........Oh, we're coping fine thanks.
SparkySaint Posted 22 March, 2011 Posted 22 March, 2011 Totally ****ed off,we should really have won against a side so low on confidsence. We definately have to win our next two home games now. If we want to go up we have to win all our home games. Fingers firmly crossed on the Lallana/Chamberlain situation
Saint_clark Posted 22 March, 2011 Author Posted 22 March, 2011 Oh, we're coping fine thanks. That statement is clearly not aimed at you. You're 12 points clear
Jimmy_D Posted 22 March, 2011 Posted 22 March, 2011 Not the end of the world, would have been pretty happy with a point back when this was first going to be played, and everything still under our control.
SaintNeil90 Posted 22 March, 2011 Posted 22 March, 2011 You mentioned our loss to Walsall, in which we were also the far better team. Why are they allowed to lose games but we aren't? Fair point.
alpine_saint Posted 22 March, 2011 Posted 22 March, 2011 How about waiting until we actually play them before judging the potential results? Have we or have we not f*cked two of our games-in-hand ?
Saint_clark Posted 22 March, 2011 Author Posted 22 March, 2011 Have we or have we not f*cked two of our games-in-hand ? We've f*cked one of them. And even that was a freak result - like Posh last night.
Um Bongo Posted 22 March, 2011 Posted 22 March, 2011 With 4 minutes to go, of course it feels like points dropped. However, we move up and place and still in pole position to get 2nd. Let's wait and see how serious the injuries are before killing ourselves.
Simster Posted 22 March, 2011 Posted 22 March, 2011 That statement is clearly not aimed at you. You're 12 points clear No mate, we're ten points clear. But 12 points clear of you. A maximum of 16 points for promotion and 19 for the title now. Look on the bright side. Orient scored in the last minute, meaning that your arch rivals, Bournemouth are really struggling to hold onto a play off place.

Cascadia Saint Posted 22 March, 2011 Posted 22 March, 2011 Lallana injured, Chamberlain injured, 2 points dropped, another opportunity missed, ex player scores... Great! Fed up of people saying its still in our own hands. If we keep doing this with our games in hand (dont forget walsall) then it soon wont be in our own hands! I think Peterborough will get automatic and we will be in the play offs personally. Even though Peterborough lost last night they were by far the better team. Yeah, but... It's still in our own hands. Until it isn't. Then it won't be in our own hands anymore. But it is in our own hands.
thorpie the sinner Posted 22 March, 2011 Posted 22 March, 2011 Disappointed but another point towards our target away from home! Peterborough showed they can **** up, Hudders showed they can **** up, win our home games and nick a couple of results away from home, and we will go up!!!
Saint_clark Posted 22 March, 2011 Author Posted 22 March, 2011 No mate, we're ten points clear. But 12 points clear of you. A maximum of 16 points for promotion and 19 for the title now. I'd rather that quaint little club were in the play-offs tbh, we'd be guaranteed to beat them.
Rebel Posted 22 March, 2011 Posted 22 March, 2011 We really need to win games like that if we are going to get automatic promotion - losing 2 points tonight and possibly either or both of Lallana and Chamberlain for a number of games definately feels like a bad loss to me! We don't really have thet strength in depth that Atkins supposed to have talked up - so for the next game against MK Dons we could be without Lallana, Schneiderlin, Chamberlain and Gobern on the pitch or on the bench. It's all about momentum - and at the moment our's seems to be slipping away! Three points tonight would have rally put the pressure on Peterborough and Hudderfield for the next few games - Saturday's certainly - injuries or not! Now the pressure will be on us to really make those games in hand count. And to be honest I'm not so sure our players can handle presssure! If an understrength Saints lose to an infrom MK Dons the pressure is really going to heat up!
Weston Saint Posted 22 March, 2011 Posted 22 March, 2011 Although we still have 10 games to go I think Brighton are too far ahead now so it is second place or the playoffs. We are still favourite to get automatic and I would say Peterborough close behind. BUT if Peterborough do get past us at the post we should be well able to cope with Huddersfield/MK Dons/Bournemouth/Leyton Orient. It would only become an issue if one of those got second and we had Peterborough in the playoff pool. Alpine....take a deap breath....release slowly...see it is not that bad
PokingFun Posted 22 March, 2011 Posted 22 March, 2011 Typical Saints we can never hold a lead! and our ex players always score against us! Why oh why cant we hold a lead? Will pboro away and Charlton away come to haunt us! I hope not! What are you on about? 18 times we have led this year and won 14 of those games which seems alright to me.
teamsaint Posted 22 March, 2011 Posted 22 March, 2011 We've f*cked one of them. And even that was a freak result - like Posh last night. quite. from walsall Charlton colchester and bompey away, 7 points is promotion form. 4 points from sheff weds home and charlton away is promotion form. After 7 games this season, we would have happily taken the position we are in now. sometimes in football you get lucky sometimes you get unlucky.
View From The Top Posted 22 March, 2011 Posted 22 March, 2011 I'm sure Thrush gets an erection everytime we fail to win and is sat in front of his screen stoking himself. His a 'kin freak and I wish folk would stop quoting him so those of us who have thrush of ignore don't have to read his sh*t.

I still think 2nd is ours to lose tbh....i hope Lallana just has a strain rather than a tear or anything as that could be long-term.
thorpie the sinner Posted 22 March, 2011 Posted 22 March, 2011 Peterborough won't find it easy away at rovers imo as they will be fighting for their lives and then they are away at Hudders first week in April!! The ball is firmly in our court!!
CanadaSaint Posted 22 March, 2011 Posted 22 March, 2011 Simply not good enough, the job has just become much harder. Hope some of you are pleased that you got the result you wanted. I clearly remember, from back in my playing days, wondering in the middle of a game whether it was worth it to tell a referee he was a complete and utter ****, and it definitely was - even though it cost me a three week suspension. I'll never forget that feeling of satisfaction. So, in much the same vein, I joyfully say Alpine, you're a sad, manic depressive, wrist-slitting, half-witted moron. I've only been reported once on here in god knows how many years, and I'm pretty sure it was by the person who's going to do it for a second time. Bring it on.
sfc6mufc3 Posted 22 March, 2011 Posted 22 March, 2011 Peterborough lost at Charlton and a point is better than none - still in our hands, remain positive!!

I can only conclude, after reading this thread so far, that most Saints fans are utter c**ks.
ericofarabia Posted 22 March, 2011 Posted 22 March, 2011 Yet again Saints blow a golden chance to stamp our name on an automatic promotion spot. And we let a thieving reject do it to us. And we've maybe lost two of our key players for a while. Simply not good enough, the job has just become much harder. Hope some of you are pleased that you got the result you wanted. FFS Alps where were you when we needed you? You know the drill ... halfway through the 2nd half you tell us, without the medium of seeing or hearing what is happening just how shyte we are and then .... BOOM we score .... I blame your p!ss poor performance tonight ... not the team!!! Have a word with yourself!! It feels like a defeat tonight, as essentially we lost 2 points not gained one. I'm not coming on here on Saturday when we could well be back down to 5th and 5 pts behind 2nd place.
corsacar saint Posted 22 March, 2011 Posted 22 March, 2011 Simster how you are so far clear god only knows, you are one of the worst teams I have seen at St Marys this season. No doubt Glen Murray one of the few class players you have will score the winner at the athletics track against us in a few weeks time.[As an aside you do have a very good manager, who like Paul Lambert has instilled a winning mentality at your club. Finally why do you not gloat on your own board and keep off this board. Still totally ****ed off with this result,it does not auger too well ,if we only make the play-offs,just trying to be realistic, definately two points dropped.

Why would anyone be happy with a draw rather than a win? There is no logic that I can see in that statement. A draw is rubbish considering the form Charlton are in compared to ours and conceding in the last five minutes.
Saint Billy Posted 22 March, 2011 Posted 22 March, 2011 Well I suppose we didn't lose. Concerned about our midfield though with three now injured.
astrasri Posted 22 March, 2011 Posted 22 March, 2011 Even though Peterborough lost last night they were by far the better team. If they were the better team - why didn't they win. Having more possession doesn't make a team 'better' The better team is the one that wins and prevents their opponents from doing that - always! We didn't at Walsall, therefore we weren't the better team on the night.

They're first because they're a good team. They're not going to be caught and will be named champions by easter. I wish that could have been us this year. So let them get on with that, we've got our own battle to fight for 2nd.
itchen Posted 22 March, 2011 Posted 22 March, 2011 It's disappointing to give away two points to a late goal. But, to put it into perspective, we'd already lost our two most creative players before we scored. And we had a goal disallowed which the commentators (and Jordan Sibley) seem convinced should not have been disallowed. So disappointed, yes. Having a hissy fit, no.

Actually technically, if we keep doing "this" with our games in hand, we would actually be above Huddersfield on goal difference. But I get your point. We do need to take advantage. Typical Saints would be to leave it until the last game of the season and have us all crapping our pants.
beatlesaint Posted 22 March, 2011 Posted 22 March, 2011 Chambo leaves ground on crutches, Lallana has groin problem. Both to be assessed tomorrow....... Thats the last we will hear of it then considering we still haven't been told about Morgan being out for the season !! First we will know is if they dont run out against MK Dons in 10 days time.
BHA Posted 22 March, 2011 Posted 22 March, 2011 Look on the bright side come the end of saturday you will only be 15 points behind us. Still think you will go up automatically though.

I don't particularly like them, but a round of applause to Brighton, who seem to have top spot well in their grasp, they keep picking up the results like tonight. It's a battle for second now.

I'm pretty worried about Chambo. Sounds ominous, not much recovery time between now and then end of the season.

Thats the last we will hear of it then considering we still haven't been told about Morgan being out for the season !! First we will know is if they dont run out against MK Dons in 10 days time. It is Saints medical practice for all players with leg injuries, even minor, to use cruches until the injury is assessed so don't read anything into that at present
corky morris Posted 22 March, 2011 Posted 22 March, 2011 Typical Saints if you ask me...........................

Yate Saint Posted 22 March, 2011 Posted 22 March, 2011 I thought we would get a point but still annoyed we actually got one. I think its just the timing of the goal and the scorer that annoyed it for me. Still games in hand and I reckon we can do it. We probably would have lost this game 6 weeks ago.
Saint Charlie Posted 22 March, 2011 Posted 22 March, 2011 Just on train back. Can only say fair result. Hopefully Lallana and Chambo ok. Lallana's looked pretty tame but Chambo limped off. Great support from over 3000 Saints fans. Chaplow again went missing but most others were decent enough, although N'Guessan's first touch was dire!
SuperSAINT Posted 22 March, 2011 Posted 22 March, 2011 From Solentsport twitter... Footnote: Jason Puncheon was at The Valley tonight, chatting with #Saintsfc players in tunnel after game NA says video replays suggest N'Guessan "goal" ONSIDE, Charlton "goal" NOT over the line #Saintsfc Nigel Adkins tells Solent he would categorically NOT recall Jason Puncheon, even if he was allowed to #Saintsfc
John B Posted 22 March, 2011 Posted 22 March, 2011 . Still think you will go up automatically though. Me too Still think we should have beaten Spurs in 1978 at the Dell to become champions allowing Brighton to get promoted but we just played for a draw and allowed Spurs to go up instead Even if we had lost 5 0 we would have been promoted
Johnny Shearer Posted 22 March, 2011 Posted 22 March, 2011 Typical Saints if you ask me........................... Very true.
