chrisobee Posted 22 March, 2011 Share Posted 22 March, 2011 Good luck, as per this thread my running far days are over ! http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?28349-Great-South-Run Eastleigh Soul Boy might join you for the last 10 metres
saint_stevo Posted 22 March, 2011 Share Posted 22 March, 2011 Considered it, but road running on my dodgy knee is asking for trouble. Good luck all who do
Johnny Shearer Posted 23 March, 2011 Share Posted 23 March, 2011 I'm running in it. Didnt realise it was so serious until I got my number through and ankle chip for my race time! Hoping to get round in less than 60mins.
egg Posted 24 March, 2011 Share Posted 24 March, 2011 Not this year but it is a cracking run. I have patellar tendonitis (aka owen hargreaves knee) which has curtailed my running for the last year. Is bloody frustrating. I am hoping that it will settle so I can get back and run this race again next year. Those running, good luck and enjoy. Johnny Shearer Posted 27 March, 2011 Share Posted 27 March, 2011 62 mins. No way near the 58mins that I was hoping for, just ran out of gas in the last 3km. Good race though in terms of dodging oncoming cars!

Think I may have passed him just. Ha ha. Was surprised to see people being given oxygen at the end. I guess they must have really sprinted it down the last bit. Had a slice of the sultana cake afterwards, which I thought was simply amazing!

No one overtook the guy in the white saints training top on the last 100 meters, that was me, totally cocked up my pace and had plenty at the end, hence sprint finish. Yeah, I think some people determination outweigh their own self preservation!
