Jimmy_D Posted 21 March, 2011 Posted 21 March, 2011 Win tomorrow, and be two points ahead of Posh with a game in hand, and CMS might start to make a few more noises about leaving...
opthomps Posted 21 March, 2011 Posted 21 March, 2011 just woke up to see this thread, longer than our match day ones. haha. Great result, and amazing result if we get the 3 points tomorrow.
Fan The Flames Posted 22 March, 2011 Posted 22 March, 2011 Would have preferred the draw, but a MK win is brilliant, beat Charlton today and we get over that dotted line. I work in Bexley with a load of Charlton fans so the next tow days will be interesting, needless to say but they don't hold out much hope. Get an early goal settle the nerves and sing the boys home to a victory.
Matthew Le God Posted 22 March, 2011 Posted 22 March, 2011 Would have preferred the draw Why? Peterborough are a better side than MK Dons, have played fewer games and have more points. Far better that MK Dons won from a Saints perspective. Saints are level on points with MK Dons, have a better goal difference by 27 and still have three games in hand (plus play them at St Mary's). Peterborough are far more of a threat than MK Dons.
Lighthouse Posted 22 March, 2011 Posted 22 March, 2011 Ferkin' brilliant result. A win tomorrow puts us second, with games in hand on everyone below us. COYS etc.
LostBoys Posted 22 March, 2011 Posted 22 March, 2011 MK Dons have always been my second favourite team!!!!! second tomorrow night
dellboypete Posted 22 March, 2011 Posted 22 March, 2011 Cracking result - and to fair it was a half decent game as some other posters have already commented. Great advert for 3rd division footy. Pity about the 10k crowd though for a top of the table clash - and almost a local derby - only 40 ish miles apart. Sounded really hollow on the telly
doddisalegend Posted 22 March, 2011 Posted 22 March, 2011 Yeah, they looked pretty ****e TBF. Yet they managed to keep a clean sheet, against free scoring posh......... Personally thought they looked a million times better than the Dons team we faced last season

benjii Posted 22 March, 2011 Posted 22 March, 2011 Yet they managed to keep a clean sheet, against free scoring posh......... Personally thought they looked a million times better than the Dons team we faced last season They were decent at the back but I would have full confidence in us to beat them nine times out of ten.

We still have Orient away - it would be most preferable if their play-off hopes were gone by then.
The9 Posted 22 March, 2011 Posted 22 March, 2011 Think the Dons might be a different prospect at SMS this season? Not really, Chamberlain will do what Antonio did to Lewington, and they didn't exactly play "well" against Peterborough - they got murdered and were very lucky until they got to injury time, when they kept the ball well.
The9 Posted 22 March, 2011 Posted 22 March, 2011 Can you imagine this forum if... our forwards missed chances like Peterborough's KD gifted a goal like tonight's Adkins showed the lack of plan B that Fergie did tonight? We were as scrappy and hoofed as much Er, why imagine, that's pretty much what happened at Walsall isn't it ?
SFC Forever Posted 22 March, 2011 Posted 22 March, 2011 It is all in our hands now and a win tonight will simply increase the pressure on the teams around us.
Sheaf Saint Posted 22 March, 2011 Posted 22 March, 2011 Er, why imagine, that's pretty much what happened at Walsall isn't it ? Well yeah, and I think that's the point Nick was making. Don't you remember the hysteria and despair from some fans on here after that game?
Charlie Wayman Posted 22 March, 2011 Posted 22 March, 2011 So old Dan Harding is relieved that "it is in our own hands now" Get real you brainless ****, if it were in our own hands we'd be 10 points clear instead of relying on others to f*** it up more often than we do.

Yet another post from mr happy go lucky......

I can imagine... I don't usually bother coming on here for a few days post-defeat. Nick's "point" was stated in the post : just pointing out that there is some "grass is always greener" on here and we should enjoy our team, wins like Saturday and appreciate our forwards! which sort of implies what you're saying, but at the same time fails to say that your interpretation is actually what he meant.

Sounded really hollow on the telly To be honest considering they only came into existence about five years ago they do quite well to get any fans at all. Did these people not support another team before MK came into being.
S-Clarke Posted 22 March, 2011 Posted 22 March, 2011 So old Dan Harding is relieved that "it is in our own hands now" Get real you brainless ****, if it were in our own hands we'd be 10 points clear instead of relying on others to f*** it up more often than we do. But we're not relying on others to screw up at all are we? Do you ever take a second to think before you post? Maybe you're the brainless ****? The results we've had in our favour over the last weekend have been bonuses (it wasn't critical that they slipped up) but with our games in hand, it is in our hands - well and truly. I believe it's ours to lose now.

That's not really the point, is it ? "Getting real", seeing as that's what you want, we don't have to rely on anyone else's results. If we do our bit we're fine. If you want to call him brainless, you can do so for not realising that it was already in our hands (mathematically speaking, which is the only measurable definition) after the Bournemouth win, rather than after this weekend's very helpful results.

If we win our remaining games we will be promoted, even if our rivals win all theirs. Therefore it's in our own hands. Not a difficult concept surely, even for you.

Maths not your strong point? You seem to not know what the term "in our hands" means. - If Saints or Brighton win every game they are guaranteed to go up. - Thus in their hands. - If Peterborough or Huddersfield or MK Dons or Bournemouth or Leyton Orient win all their games they are not guaranteed to go up. - Thus NOT in their hands. Dark Munster Posted 22 March, 2011 Posted 22 March, 2011 Plus MK Dons wins (and now Bournemouth wins) keep Leyton Orient away from the play-offs. We still have Orient away - it would be most preferable if their play-off hopes were gone by then. Even better: their playoff place is guaranteed, they cannot finish second, and roll over in the match to avoid having to meet us in the playoffs.
Matthew Le God Posted 22 March, 2011 Posted 22 March, 2011 Leyton Orient - Even better: their playoff place is guaranteed when we play them. Mathematically impossible, as we play them in 4 games time and there will still be plenty of games left.

jam Posted 22 March, 2011 Posted 22 March, 2011 You really do make me LOL. He's just crabby because arsenal spunked their chances in four competitions in the last week or so.
