sambosa75 Posted 18 March, 2011 Posted 18 March, 2011 Hi all, Has anyone heard the new album from the Vaccines yet? The drummer Pete is a mate of mine. A fellow Chandlers Ford boy. Much love.
saint boggy Posted 18 March, 2011 Posted 18 March, 2011 they get mentions on Radio 1 quite a lot.......didn't realise they were local boys....will take more notice of their music now..
sambosa75 Posted 18 March, 2011 Author Posted 18 March, 2011 They arent, just Pete. He's been living up in London for a few years as a session drummer. He's a good lad though. Very grounded. He went to Thornden.
sotonjoe Posted 18 March, 2011 Posted 18 March, 2011 Heard their song 'Do you Wanna' (think that's what it's called anyway) and thought it was good.

Rory Posted 22 March, 2011 Posted 22 March, 2011 A little rushed, but here's my take: http://luminousplectrum.blogspot.com/2011/03/album-review-vaccines-what-did-you.html
sambosa75 Posted 24 March, 2011 Author Posted 24 March, 2011 The Mrs bought me the album yesterday. I put it on whilst I was cooking dinner. I've got to say I really liked it. Short, catchy tunes. Not self-indulgent and probably the shortest album I own at just over 30 mins long but it does kind of leave you wanting to hear what else they've got which can only be a good thing when they release their 2nd album. As for manji's comment, is it their fault they've been over-hyped? The are mediocre by who's standards? As for derivative, I implore you to tell me of a band breaking out now that arent "derivative" in one form or another.
