1, I didn't start the thread

2, Can you please enlighten me as to where i have moaned about the thread not existing and then arguing why it shouldn't?

Please explain your reply, seeing as you're a moderator. Were you in the throes of picking your jester hat for Plymouth, but happened to chance upon my post? ;-)

hat's the problem with this board, some are more interested in choosing which jester hat or facepaint to wear to Plymouth than a very interesting and insightful trip down Southampton's and Saint's memory lane.
This implies you are unhappy the thread doesn't exist.

And FWIW, I f*cking hate jester hats - but can understand why people would go in fancy dress for the last away game of the season. Me and my brother were planning to go to all away games a few seasons back dressed as Sammy and Super Saint, but the club b*tch slapped us.

If you guys want this to be the new Soul Cellar thread i'm more than happy to stick and rename it - although remember the usual rules still apply.

Blackpool away mid 70's. Picked up by coach from the bottom of st marys street at about 12.30a.m ,outside Zoots i think the club was called.Loads of us in there before coach arrived. Grossly overcrowded coach with someone (Steve Jewitt I think) sleeping in the aisle. We tied his bootlaces together:) .Childish but highly amusing at the time. Then playing football on blackpool beach at about 7a.m saturday morning.

Millbrook (Wimpson Youth Club) and Weston boys together was a force to reckon with.

Who was at The Painted Wagon on a famous Saturday evening ? The place was rammed. If my memory serves me correct most of us were preparing for the bus to Bournemouth to visit Upstairs At Erics.Must have been about 8 O'clock when a group of older lads walked in most were wearing blazers and sta-prest/chinos.Within seconds they were chanting "Peeeooortsmuff" to be met with a hail of fists , beer glasses and chairs.Turned out they were the 6.57 Crew on thier way back by train from a West game (Plymouth/Bristol/Cardiff ?) and decided to stop off and pay us a visit. Most entertaining.

Wasn't there myself that night but a while later on the way to Belfast for an England Game met some ICF who knew about the incident and typically for them were trying to get me and my mate to take on about a dozen P*mpey on the train

Remember it well. Got there really early as well by 9.00 am every facility selling food was over-run by Saints fans.We eat in I think it was a Woolworths Cafe near the front completely rammed with Saints.Good **** up but fairly uneventful until right at the end of the game when Blackpool started singing "Channon is a ******".This incensed the Saints fans. As you left the ground there was a large gravel Car/Coach park which looked like an abandoned building site (piles of bricks everywhere) and mayhem ensued.

We stayed for part of the evening and as it was the last game of the season it appeared every team that played anywhere remotely near Blackpool had mobs of fans on the front. After that it gets a little blurry.....
