WinchesterSaint Posted 17 March, 2011 Share Posted 17 March, 2011 Local company, shown impressive growth in the last few years and quite frankly as long as they are prepared to put money into our club then whats the problem ? I'd rather have a local company than some non descript bland national company with no links or responsibility to the community or the local area. sandwichsaint Posted 17 March, 2011 Share Posted 17 March, 2011 Glad it's not another online betting outfit, nor financial services, nor junk food. Hopefully if the shirt comes up OK and they pay their wedge then good luck to them. Glad it's a local firm over some faceless multi-national money churner. Hope them and us go on together to bigger and better things. LOL at those crying that it's not a 'big name' - how many other teams' sponsors can you name in this league? Bet for most people it's not more than 2-3 teams tops - the exposure is just not there in our league, and to a certain extent in the CCC too (see what I did there?) Scudamore Posted 17 March, 2011 Share Posted 17 March, 2011 Agree, really glad we've got a nice local company to sponsor us actually, but that new kit would look tacky in my sunday league, let alone League 1/Championship. I agree jawillwill. I'm much more of traditionalist myself. Which is why i think you'll much prefer the away kit. I really shouldn't be doing this. If Nicola finds out i've released this he'll go mad. But i can't help myself so here it is! A nice take on the Pony kit of the 90s i'm sure you'll agree. I'm sure Matt Le God can tell us how many years out of our history we've had the "tick" kit in comparison to when nobody on here was alive to follow Saints. Which should be interesting. A few details for those of you who love that kind of thing are of course the "126" detail within the soon to be classic badge surround to celebrate our monumental "bumbling to a midtable finish in the Championship" year. Oh and you will also see there are four stars to signify the number of years that Saints have made an FA Cup Final appearance. Not that i care of course. Rebel Posted 17 March, 2011 Share Posted 17 March, 2011 I have to say I was hoping for a bit more if a wow factor - the launch also seems to have been a bit of a damp squib! And I don't understand why a business-to-business company would sponsor a football club - particularly a recruitment company / IT managed services company supposedly in the global marketplace It's makes much more business sense for a consumer brand or even a regionally focused company. It's certainly a come down from Friends Provident or Flybe! I was hoping for someone like Skandia or Aegis (or whatever it's called now - was Fortis). I can't imagine the deal is worth that much to the club - smacks a bit of last resort - if not a favor to someone! It's a bit of a stupid name and a daft logo as well - and there website is not even that clear about what they do. Reminds me a bit of the Sanderson deal which had a similar 'favour' feel to it! I think I would have preferred to have remained sponsorless!

SuperMikey Posted 17 March, 2011 Share Posted 17 March, 2011 Jesus christ, it's only a ferking sponsor! What matters most next season is how the team play on the pitch, not how they look in their shirts with the sponsor's logo on it.

Depends on the Championship club in question as there can be huge differences in the amount of exposure different clubs get. For example there is a big difference between sponsoring S****horpe or Newcastle in the Championship.

Noggin Posted 18 March, 2011 Share Posted 18 March, 2011 Well yes, I wouldn't want a company that supplied say chemical weapons to a third world dictator or such like sponsoring my club. A local company seems good to me that I've never heard of them is niether here nor there. Although if we could get playboy as a sponsor I wouldn't be unhappy, I imangine they could help to make the matchday programme a lot more fun.......... Yes thats right some bloke called Amir Al Zawaadi from a cave in pakistan is likely to be looking to sponser a 3rd teir english football club to raise his profile before he starts a dragons den type pitch to colonel gadaffi to sell some chemical weapons. Does it really make a difference to us or the city of southampton if we are sponsored by a firm based in Southampton or Beirut?

jasoneuelllfanclub Posted 18 March, 2011 Share Posted 18 March, 2011 looking at their board of directors they are from high profile roles at large companies such as cisco so I dont suppose they are on small salaries. Although there is no financial results for the company it does seem they are very well established and importantly they are in an industry which feels less effect of the recession then most. they were ranked as the 29th fastest growing company in the UK back in 2003 which was only 5 years after forming. St_Tel49 Posted 18 March, 2011 Share Posted 18 March, 2011 Hasn't it occurred to any of the moaners on here that the reason why aap3 want to sponsor us is precisely because they want to put their name out there. I hadn't heard of them even though they are clearly of a significant size. Few people have heard of my current company nor my previous company although both are huge. Had anybody heard of Cornhill before they sponsored the cricket?, yet there were a significantly sized Insurance Company. Sponsorship, at its best, is a big benefit to both participants. Turkish Posted 18 March, 2011 Share Posted 18 March, 2011 This is the final straw for me, i really have had a gutful of SFC. I have been disgusted with the goings on at this club ever since the Liebhers and Cortese rolled up. I really dont know who they think we are and long for the glory days of Lowe, Wilde and Hone. The things they have failed to improve and introduced are shocking. We still have a dodgy PA system and queues so long for beer and food at half time it forces me to miss 30 minutes of every game. Our automated car park entrance system is a disgrace, only Cortese would introduce something which patronisingly wishes you to "have a nice day" as you leave the car park. What with us failing to spend as much as Manchester City, Chelsea, and Liverpool combined in the transfer window to make sure promotion was a certainy and now to cap it all this! Why are our sponsors not Microsoft, Coke or NASA FFS? Who are AAP3? This is a 3 year deal FFS, we could be in the premier league with the least know sponsors in top flight. What really worries me is the top players will look at us and our sponsors and think we are small time, they wont want to join a club where the sponsors aren't as big as Carlsberg or Fly Emirates FFS. Thanks again Cortese, you've embarassed us in the transfer market, you've patronised us with you parking system now you are throwing away any chance of being a big club again with this short sighted an small time sponsorship deal. I am OUTRAGED and just about to compose a strongly worded email to the club telling them exactly what i think of them.
