Sheffield Wednesday build up

They've signed 2 defenders in the last 2 days: Rob Jones from Scunny and Danny Batth from Wolves. Hopefully' date=' NA will at least know what weaknesses Jones has![/quote']

Wednesday have big problems with their central defenders, one is injured (that would be Beevers) and one has some international

games coming up somewhere in Africa. Thus it's normal that they get a couple of loans, everybody else is.

I really do hate the phrase must win game but I do think this is as close as it gets especially if Huddersfield and Peterborough win their games before we kick off! Fingers crossed both the above will loose and then with the pressure off we will stuff Wednesday who I've still not forgiven for that Mark Crossley goal a couple of seasons back!

Please negative people stop saying you have a bad feeling. What have you got to be negative about. The best squad, the best stadium, wealthy famly owners, great chairman, the best players, a good experienced manager. Don't talk it down.

You remind me of a golfer playing well, waiting for the destructive shot. Its all in the mind.

& if we did lose then we'll probably win the next six.

Yeah, but I'm coming back for the game so that's the death knell for our hopes.

Oh and stop with the bringing golf into threads stuff, I have the exclusive rights to do that on here.

And no, I don't have time to play golf while I'm back next week, thanks to many for asking, and yes Tiger HAS seen some improvement since I told him to stop faffing about and just hit the fecking ball.

God forbid we don't gain promotion this season then then.

Probably not the best game to come back for seeing as its on TV, but anyway enjoy the win and believe its gonna happen just as I believe I'm gonna one day play golf with Matt Le Tissier

Should be a good game. I expect it to be pretty open, I can't really see Wednesday coming and parking the bus tbh - they seem incapable of that this season.

There will be goals - but if we're as solid and organised as we have been recently, then we'll have no problems what so ever.

If "must win" means "get more points than Peterborough & Huddersfield would be great, get the same as them would be just about OK, and less than either of them would ramp up the pressure on us for the rest of the season", then this is a must win game for Saints.

Scarily our GD was worth an extra point until Peterboro's recent run of F 19 A 1 ..... shooting their once pitiful +7 up to a worrying +25 in the space of 5 games. Just as well we managed a + 10 margin ourselves over the same period. :scared:

Not just beating teams like Wednesday, but well and truly thrashing them is also becoming a factor.

I am giving up saying must win or really important game as they all are we have to keep our winning run going I dont think we have played very well in the last 3 games but the results have been great it would be so nice to play well & win well.

They couldnt be in worse form and have injuries at the back but I cant see them just coming and parking the bus as jose would say Mowbary like his teams to play football so I think it will be a open game which should suite us.

Come on Saints lets put on a show we are on telly if we play well & win it will put pressure on the rest I am going for 3 1 to the mighty Saints

When teams do park the bus, and leave 1 isolated up front, I'm not sure why we still play a back four. Other clubs do as well. I suppose if you really push up the full backs it's alright, but it's almost worth going 3 at the back in these cirumstances and getting an extra man in midfield.

what does happen, is that the full backs push further up and the sitting CM will sit deep and the CB will spread out a little.....

we have to keep the width to open up a bit of space in the middle.....

we should combat this better as lambert drops off the front more and more which hopefully means, he either does not get picked up or his marker follows him and barny defending from the front and terrorising defenders and pushing back their back 4...unlike guly who will sit like rickie....the key is for players like lallana and chappers to make the most of the space.

easy in theory

does anyone know of any pubs in fareham that screen saints games?

None as far as I know. I live in gosport and with the Ireland/England rugby and a premiership game on we won't get a look in.

Aye this is very annoying! I'm off to Somerset Saturday, but was at least looking forward to be able to watch the game in the pub, but that's never going to happen with the rugby on is it!

Even my mum barred me from going round her house and using her Sky because of the fecking Rugby. I informed her that she has 4 TV's in that house, and to watch one of the other's. It worked, so at least I can rush home from work now and watch the match.

I cant start a new thread so Ill post it here. Some good news for you lot.

Dave Jones will apparently be sacked if he loses against millwall, his replacement? None other than Gus Poyet.

I can't see either of those things happening at all, but thanks for adding to the thread.

Arf arf arf he most certainly does. Only Tiger could find a fit chick in a mini skirt in the middle of a desert

Meanwhile Stevie Wonder put on one helluva a show. Worth every penny of the freebie tickets the GF won, but still think The Zucchini's will be better tomorrow in Salisbury.

All packed checked in and RARING to go for this one. G'night all!

In 2 minds about this one.

On TV therefore we will probably screw it up (especially if I find a decent stream).

But I can also see us ripping Wednesday a new one.

Decisions, decisions, especially as a correct prediction would give me a hat-trick of 10 pointers - and 4x10 pointers from 6 games..........

Okay, I think we will break our TV jinx and get a decent win!

Have to laugh at out 'doom and gloom' fans... OK so maybe its a legacy of the years of misery, that we have on general a quite pessimistic attitude, and thats fair enough, but why now? We win we carry on the march to promotion, we draw or lose we lose a bit of ground, but NOTHING is decided today and there will be great results andpoor ones along the way, same with our promotion rivals... but I bet their fans aren't all miserable feckers.... ;-)

Why does everything come at once. Tonight I have a choice of watching Saints on an internet stream (or possibly at local bar), going skiing in the moonlight from 3500m up at Cervinia or a dinner at a 4 star restaurant at Courmayeur. As it's a bit cloudy the 4 star dinner has it and at least I'll avoid the stress of watching a televised Saints. Pleaaase Saints, do us proud..
