Dimond Geezer Posted 17 March, 2011 Share Posted 17 March, 2011 A 'certain' player who shall be nameless but had 'breathing problems' before Saints signed him. I worked at Husbands over at Cracknore Hard and a fellow worker had a song about him that went 'Here comes ..... a coughing and a weasin' best attack he's had all season'. Lawrie Mac was Manager so get your thinking caps on! Frank Worthington? John Burridge Had to hold Alan Shearer's hand on his debut on the way down the steps from the changing room at the Dell as Shearer was so nervous and nearly fell Now works as a Football Coach & Teacher in this part of the world and needs Saints fans to tell Filipino Chicks how famous he once was Sings a cracking version of The Hippy Hippy Shake at Karaoke, but can't beat D_P with The Buggles John Burridge crap, are you for real? He was awesome for us!
Lets B Avenue Posted 17 March, 2011 Share Posted 17 March, 2011 scored the goal that put us in the 79 cup final - with his head I seem to recall No, it was a shot. Luckily it was from inside the 6-yard box. Any furthur back and it would have ended up on the Archers Road terrace. Like a lot of his crosses. dubai_phil Posted 17 March, 2011 Share Posted 17 March, 2011 He's always in the studio with Carlton Palmer commentating on the PL for the Ten (Tata so Indian channel I guess) whenever I watch a game on p2p4u. Surely they aren't paying for them to live it up in Dubai? Met a current L1 manager couple of years ago when Showtime had the TV rights here. They paid $5k & biz class flights & 5* hotel for one weekend & $10k for 2. Palmer is Sports Master at Repton School Dubai *****il his Drink Driving court case comes up I expect) and he may still get onto Abu Dhabi or Al Jazeera. He & Budgie also did some Showtime stuff. It seemed to be more of an old mates club than anything permanent and tended to involve a large consumption while bumbling around bars & clubs down in the Marina area of Dubai No idea what they will pay now. It isn't full time and isn't guaranteed. To answer Dimond Geezer's point yes he was but he did probably stay one season too long and was "let's say" less reliable in his last year as I recall
