Weston Super Saint Posted 15 March, 2011 Share Posted 15 March, 2011 Anyone use one of these for all their TV needs? If so, what are your experiences, which are the best ones? We have a Novatech TV, with SKY+ and a Toshiba DVD player connected, so would like one that is easily programmable and will recognise the kit we have
Barfy Posted 15 March, 2011 Share Posted 15 March, 2011 I got one of these (http://www.amazon.co.uk/One-All-URC8305-Kameleon-Control/dp/B000KGG5DU) for christmas a few years ago worked well for most basic functions, though I couldn't (at the time) get it to work with sky+ or my stereo which admittedly is quite old. It apparently has a learning feature that allows it to learn from other working remotes, but I couldn't seem to get that working properly either, though that was possibly through lack of patience on my part. The other problem with it is that although it looks great from the front, the back has a big ridge in it where the batteries go, and it doesn't sit very well on the arm of the chair... I'd always thought of them as a good idea, but after the hassle of that and the fact that the Sky+ remote control works for the main functions on the TV as well means I've just stuck with that
hutch Posted 16 March, 2011 Share Posted 16 March, 2011 I'd be more interested in one that shouts "I'm here" when you shout "where are you?"
