Time to go back in your sub. It was true.

 

Never met or spoke to patred, not even close to being ITK, but always thought there was something to it and a chance brief meeting confirmed it.

 

What is a sub got to so with anything..

 

I simply do not believe that a manager with such a stature would go to the NPC let alone division 3

After the ****e you post on here, i dont give a foook what you believe or not.

 

I got lucky, met someone (Not even going to humour you with who) and it was explained to me in almost the exact way that patred posted it happened.

Well if you're going to go back to days past in your description of our league you should probably describe the NPC as division 2 non?

No offence intended to you, Gemmel - you clearly believe your source on the O'Neil thing. But doesn't it occur to you that the originating source of your info and of Pat's could be one and the same? A story from a single original source can be heard by many people from many sources, which is exactly how rumours spread (and gain a cachet of authenticity, as info appears unconnected when it actually isn't).

The truth is O'Neil was down on the South Coast to meet up with an ex-player of his - he had dinner with him and his father and watched a Saints game at St Marys - from that truth a rumor spread as people had genuinely seen him down here.

 

I was told this by someone who knows the ex-players father - something I know to be true as we've talked about that before!

Whilst I'm loathe to cast doubt on any info that Solent provide.(Should be a Roll Eyes smilie here) Unless it has changed this season, it closes on the 4th Thursday in March.

 

That would be next week then.

If that really were to happen now it might knock Peterboro's form badly at just the right time for us, but I think I've read somewhere that Barry Fry has already said no to this?

You can see Mackails view for sure, (apart from a load more cash) he may well be in the Premier league next season/

Many managers have done in the past about players.

 

Not where Cortese is chief exec though.

 

Perhaps we will be surprised still. Not worried one way or t'other over Howard myself,as long as we don't get into a midfield crisis at any time soon we can probably do better for less.

Ox will be gone in the summer anyway, if we can lever something from it now it wouldn't be so bad.

He's not been picked for the England U21s this time you know and I don't doubt that might wound his pride a bit because it was something that Theo had done at his age.I would have thought that a place in the squad for this year's U21 Euro would have been an objective for Ox.

It's got to be a gamble taking a player that is recuperating from a cruciate and playing his first games for a club in a crucial position. It's bad enough taking somebody who is fit and could get injured but knees need care not **** or bust situations.

Stern was all right surely? He scored a fair few goals for us... Forecast I agree with though, which is perhaps unfair since I've never seen him play.

Could not agree more, which is unusal.

 

Running through this and the loan suggestion thread I think its fair to say there isn't a great deal of choice in terms of a central midfielder willing to come to us that can improve the side. I've gone through the NPC sides and there is not a lot of `dead wood'. It pains me to say it but I keep coming back to Michael Brown...

Yes, but I doubt we would play him unless it was really necessary in the first instance. NA would want him to train with the squad and settle into the way the team plays before risking starting him.

I'm sure many will agree with you, but personally I thought his and Thomas' signings were instrumental in our fall from grace. Scoring goals is vital, but I'd wager we'd have scored more as a side and conceded far less if John has never set foot at our place. Well never know of course but that's my opinion. I'd add, just for completion, that if we'd signed Jaidi and not Thomas we'd still be in the Championship.

would you say the same of Howard? I mean are you saying Adkins won't drop the current two or are you saying Frimpong is not better than the current two?

I could be wrong but I just can't see the club gambling on what could, if one of the central midfielders is long term injured, mean that a player that must play is in a recuperation phase. On the other hand I can't see Brian Howard being anything other than the first pick central midfielder.

It's hypothetical but I would think that would be the strongest pairing defensively.
