Doctoroncall Posted 14 March, 2011 Posted 14 March, 2011 Some important matches being played by our promotion rivals. Brentford v Huddersfield Carlisle v Plymouth Hartlepool v Leyton Orient Rochdale v Notts County Sheff Wed v Peterborough All kick-offs at 7:45pm It would be helpful to see some home wins or draws tomorrow.
ericofarabia Posted 14 March, 2011 Posted 14 March, 2011 LOL Even more games in hand - how come we aren't playing?
THEVMAN Posted 14 March, 2011 Posted 14 March, 2011 You would have thought that we would have a game on tuesday considering the games we have in hand on some of the others, rather have the points on the board than a backlog.
benjii Posted 14 March, 2011 Posted 14 March, 2011 The first of three consecutive away matches for Pboro....
Thedelldays Posted 14 March, 2011 Posted 14 March, 2011 The first of three consecutive away matches for Pboro.... I bet the ****s win them all.....oh tits
Liquidshokk Posted 14 March, 2011 Posted 14 March, 2011 Some important matches being played by our promotion rivals. Brentford v Huddersfield Carlisle v Plymouth Hartlepool v Leyton Orient Rochdale v Notts County Sheff Wed v Peterborough All kick-offs at 7:45pm It would be helpful to see some home wins or draws tomorrow. How sweet it would be if they both lost... please please please please please....
SO16_Saint Posted 14 March, 2011 Posted 14 March, 2011 Im gonna bet on Peterborough and Huddersfield to win. They will DEFINITELY lose then....
woodsaint Posted 14 March, 2011 Posted 14 March, 2011 The first of three consecutive away matches for Pboro.... 5 of their next 6 are away from home
bjk Posted 14 March, 2011 Posted 14 March, 2011 Im gonna bet on Peterborough and Huddersfield to win. They will DEFINITELY lose then.... You sound about as successfull as me.
jam Posted 14 March, 2011 Posted 14 March, 2011 Nice gruelling game for Wednesday and Peterborough with a home win please.
Jack Posted 14 March, 2011 Posted 14 March, 2011 Nice gruelling game for Wednesday and Peterborough with a home win please. This. We want a bloodbath, a couple of red cards to key players. Don't want anyone to be properly injured, but a few knocks and some tired legs could favour us. But, Sheff Wed have been pony recently and I fully expect Posh to win at a canter
NickG Posted 14 March, 2011 Posted 14 March, 2011 I'm guessing the Plymouth fans have left already. only about 800 mile round trip!
trousers Posted 15 March, 2011 Posted 15 March, 2011 Npower League One fixtures 15 Mar 2011 19:45 Brentford v Huddersfield 19:45 Carlisle v Plymouth 19:45 Hartlepool v Leyton Orient 19:45 Rochdale v Notts County 19:45 Sheff Wed v Peterborough Potential banana skins there for Huddersfield, Orient and Peterborough IMHO.
eurosaint Posted 15 March, 2011 Posted 15 March, 2011 A big night for us, without even playing ! Any points dropped will be a bonus !! COYS
Jimmy_D Posted 15 March, 2011 Posted 15 March, 2011 Results do tend to go our way when we're not playing...
silversaint Posted 15 March, 2011 Posted 15 March, 2011 Orient will draw, Hudds & Posh will sneak away wins. Do we want Sheffield Wed in confident mood going in to Saturday or is a draw the best result?
JustMike Posted 15 March, 2011 Posted 15 March, 2011 might be an odd question but why are they all playing when it is us and Brighton that has games in hand?
beatlesaint Posted 15 March, 2011 Posted 15 March, 2011 might be an odd question but why are they all playing when it is us and Brighton that has games in hand? Incredible isn't it ? I couldn't believe it when I saw they were all playing tonight.
trousers Posted 15 March, 2011 Posted 15 March, 2011 might be an odd question but why are they all playing when it is us and Brighton that has games in hand? Does seem a bit out of kilter. I've not checked but what with our game on 26th March also postponed now, we could find ourselves with 3 or 4 games in hand over our rivals for the 2nd spot with a month and a half left of the season. Weird.
trousers Posted 15 March, 2011 Posted 15 March, 2011 My gut feel is that this lag will work in our favour. We're (historically) much better at chasing a target than preserving our position.
JustMike Posted 15 March, 2011 Posted 15 March, 2011 My gut feel is that this lag will work in our favour. We're (historically) much better at chasing a target than preserving our position. lets just hope the amount of games in a short space of time doesnt hinder us.
Matthew Le God Posted 15 March, 2011 Posted 15 March, 2011 might be an odd question but why are they all playing when it is us and Brighton that has games in hand? Because games can only be rescheduled for when both teams are available. For example Saints had a game postponed against Rochdale. Rochdale however are playing Notts County tonight, so Saints can't play that game etc etc
thefunkygibbons Posted 15 March, 2011 Posted 15 March, 2011 Cannot expect all the results to go our way, but lets hope that we get something positive out of them
toofarnorth Posted 15 March, 2011 Posted 15 March, 2011 Huddersfield have tough game, however cant see past a peterborough win.
hughieslastminutegoal Posted 15 March, 2011 Posted 15 March, 2011 Npower League One fixtures 15 Mar 2011 19:45 Brentford v Huddersfield 19:45 Carlisle v Plymouth 19:45 Hartlepool v Leyton Orient 19:45 Rochdale v Notts County 19:45 Sheff Wed v Peterborough Potential banana skins there for Huddersfield, Orient and Peterborough IMHO. So if and when you say IMO should we take it that it isn't your honest opinion? And if you add neither IMO nor IMHO would it mean it wasn't your opinion at all? In that case shouldn't you add ISEO or even ISEHO? SWALK.

The 'H' means 'humble' when I use that acronym. HTH ;-)
skinner05 Posted 15 March, 2011 Posted 15 March, 2011 I can't see us picking up all 3 points tonight although being able to add Ward to the squad is a massive boost Posh will win if CMS hasn't left

warsash saint Posted 15 March, 2011 Posted 15 March, 2011 It's about time teams around us started dropping points...fingers, legged & everything crossed it starts tonight.
Doctoroncall Posted 15 March, 2011 Author Posted 15 March, 2011 Npower League One fixtures 15 Mar 2011 19:45 Brentford v Huddersfield 19:45 Carlisle v Plymouth 19:45 Hartlepool v Leyton Orient 19:45 Rochdale v Notts County 19:45 Sheff Wed v Peterborough Potential banana skins there for Huddersfield, Orient and Peterborough IMHO. Too slow...http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?28848-Tuesday-Night-Football
Nexstar Posted 15 March, 2011 Posted 15 March, 2011 Think Brentford will hold out for a draw. Wednesday might do us a favour, but depends how many goal-line clearances they can make.
Doctoroncall Posted 15 March, 2011 Author Posted 15 March, 2011 only about 800 mile round trip! The weather isn't great so hope it doesn't get called off late.
ericofarabia Posted 15 March, 2011 Posted 15 March, 2011 The weather isn't great so hope it doesn't get called off late. .... or the game being called off if any of their players get called up for International Duty before they arrive there!!!
doddisalegend Posted 15 March, 2011 Posted 15 March, 2011 This. We want a bloodbath, a couple of red cards to key players. Don't want anyone to be properly injured, but a few knocks and some tired legs could favour us. But, Sheff Wed have been pony recently and I fully expect Posh to win at a canter A mass brawl on 91 mins ending in 6 red cards each + 6pt penalty deduction for both sides will do fine....
Saint_Ash Posted 15 March, 2011 Posted 15 March, 2011 Not too fussed about Hudds, they'll fall away, it's Peterborough we need to lose tonight! 2 points behind them with 2 games in hand looks better than 1 game in hand.
trousers Posted 15 March, 2011 Posted 15 March, 2011 Too slow...http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?28848-Tuesday-Night-Football Better to have "tonight" in the title than "Tuesday" though, now that the day have cometh..... ;-) IMHO of course....
SFC Forever Posted 15 March, 2011 Posted 15 March, 2011 This. We want a bloodbath, a couple of red cards to key players. Don't want anyone to be properly injured, but a few knocks and some tired legs could favour us. But, Sheff Wed have been pony recently and I fully expect Posh to win at a canter Leyton O can still have a big say in the final outcome. Weds have I believe won their last two away but lost at home. Time for them to change that around methinks.
AndyNorthernSaints Posted 15 March, 2011 Posted 15 March, 2011 Npower League One fixtures 15 Mar 2011 19:45 Brentford 1 v 1 Huddersfield 19:45 Carlisle 1 v 2 Plymouth 19:45 Hartlepool 0 v 2 Leyton Orient 19:45 Rochdale 1v 2 Notts County 19:45 Sheff Wed 2 v 2 Peterborough I'd settle for this.
NickG Posted 15 March, 2011 Posted 15 March, 2011 Think its three horse race personally, us Huddersfield and Peterborough. As long as those two drop as many points as possible I'll be happy.
Barry the Badger Posted 15 March, 2011 Posted 15 March, 2011 Do we want Sheffield Wed in confident mood going in to Saturday or is a draw the best result? I think it's a case of cross that bridge when we come to it, we need them to beat Peterborough.
Andy Durman Posted 15 March, 2011 Posted 15 March, 2011 Anybody who thinks that Peterborough will win at a canter is not on the same planet as me. Sheffield Wednesday are a sleeping giant and are capable of anything with 25,000 fans behind them. Peterborough will need to be up for this game if they want to get anything from it. I will go for a 1-1 draw
alpine_saint Posted 15 March, 2011 Posted 15 March, 2011 Recently we seem to do better when we arent playing. Lets hope our form continues !!!
Saint_clark Posted 15 March, 2011 Posted 15 March, 2011 Recently we seem to do better when we arent playing. Lets hope our form continues !!! Well we certainly don't seem to drop any points, if that's what you mean.
Saint-scooby Posted 15 March, 2011 Posted 15 March, 2011 Im gonna bet on Peterborough and Huddersfield to win. They will DEFINITELY lose then.... Good ploy think its worth a tenner
scott_saints Posted 15 March, 2011 Posted 15 March, 2011 I'm also putting money on them both to win. Even if one draws and one wins....that'll do.
trousers Posted 15 March, 2011 Posted 15 March, 2011 I think it's a case of cross that bridge when we come to it, we need them to beat Peterborough. This. One game at a time. Sweet Jesus.

I will go for a 1-1 draw Sheff Wednesday rarely get over 20k, and spend most of their time silent or booing their players. Even when they were going fairly well when we played them at Hillsborough , this was still the case. SW 0-3 P'boro IMO
