Firead Posted 13 March, 2011 Posted 13 March, 2011 Jose - I feel is not hitting his usual outstanding form! Chaplow - Two games in a row now the game has bypassed him a little. Harding - positionally caught out several times now! Davies - undecisive about distribution. I feel we should definitely stick with these players and hopefully they will kick back into thier stride again. Onwards and upwards!
LGTL Posted 13 March, 2011 Posted 13 March, 2011 Fonte was immense yesterday. Chaplow I agree with, Harding has done next to nothing wrong, and did you see the save yesterday??
Dazza82 Posted 13 March, 2011 Posted 13 March, 2011 Fonte was immense yesterday. Chaplow I agree with, Harding has done next to nothing wrong, and did you see the save yesterday?? He is watching a different keeper, he is watching someone called Davies
S-Clarke Posted 13 March, 2011 Posted 13 March, 2011 Only one I agree with is Chappers, his form has really slipped in the last few games. We all saw what he's capable of though, and I'm sure he'll get back to it. He's going to be a mainstay for the rest of the season now.
Firead Posted 13 March, 2011 Author Posted 13 March, 2011 Never questioned Kelvins save just his distribution! Harding always does next to nothing wrong but have a look throughout the season how many goals we seem to let in on his side of the pitch!

Dazza82 Posted 13 March, 2011 Posted 13 March, 2011 Davis Mr Pedantic! Its not hard to get it right though is it
Saint Charlie Posted 13 March, 2011 Posted 13 March, 2011 Not sure if Chaplow is great in a 4-4-2, he fits the diamond better IMO.
Saint Garrett Posted 13 March, 2011 Posted 13 March, 2011 Chaplow's form seems to have dipped since the Man Utd match IMO! Theres no doubt that he is a cracking player, but at the moment he is a bit of a passer by.
paulwantsapint Posted 13 March, 2011 Posted 13 March, 2011 Chaplow's form has dipped as Hammonds has risen Just wondering if Chaplow is carrying a slight knock but playing as spiderman is out
chrisobee Posted 13 March, 2011 Posted 13 March, 2011 Its not hard to get it right though is it Apparently on this forum it is !!
Andy_Porter Posted 13 March, 2011 Posted 13 March, 2011 Harding is a solid 7/10 player and has been ever since he joined.
Window Cleaner Posted 13 March, 2011 Posted 13 March, 2011 Chaplow's form has dipped as Hammonds has risen Just wondering if Chaplow is carrying a slight knock but playing as spiderman is out More likely that his card count has been brought to his attention and his tackling is hampered by it. Chaplow isn't all that good defensively,he's a bit of a luxury in a side where you already have Lallana and Chamberlain .
niceandfriendly Posted 14 March, 2011 Posted 14 March, 2011 we are league 1 ffs What on earth was that for? Nothing wrong with what the OP said, or are we not allowed to discuss players who are off form because we are league 1 ffs? I actually agree completely with the OP about the players he mentioned (apart from Kelv, whose distribution hasn't got any worse in recent games, it's just always been terrible) but they're all vital figures who need to start every game really for us to stand a chance of promotion. It's great that even though some of them aren't at the top of their game right now we're still getting good results.
SaintBobby Posted 14 March, 2011 Posted 14 March, 2011 Everyone seems to be chugging along at 6 or 7 out of 10, it seems to me. Exception has been Hammond in recent weeks, he's really impressed me.
Capel Saint Posted 14 March, 2011 Posted 14 March, 2011 Listening to the commentry on a the last few games (being overseas) it does seem that Harding on occasion has the odd off game and Bournemouth seemed to be one of them. Davis is prone to the odd error but considering the number of times he has saved the Saints from conceding a goal you have to give him some slack. The OP has a good observation that Chaplow can go missing for large parts of the game at times. Fonte has been found out a few times but on the whole is very solid compared to most centre backs at this level. I would have added Jaidi to the list as his form and performance in recent matches has been erratic. Good at times and appalling at others. On the whole though, the team is good and I am optimistic that the team has enough to secure second place.
trousers Posted 14 March, 2011 Posted 14 March, 2011 Its not hard to get it right though is it Not as hard as remembering to put a question mark at the end of a question, apparently... ;-)
pele Posted 14 March, 2011 Posted 14 March, 2011 Absolutely think the team is good enough but would just love us to really get into our stride and destroy teams as we have previously. To do that the people I mentioned will hopefully get back into form much like Lee has in the last couple of games!
um pahars Posted 14 March, 2011 Posted 14 March, 2011 Would have to agree that a number of players seem to be playing somewhat below their capabilities, but on the plus side once they all start to click and fulfill their potential then hopefully we will go on a decent run until the end of the season finishing a comfortable second. Hopefully recent results will give us a big confidence boost and we can push on from here. But I do think that collectively and individually we have to up our game. Nothing wrong with suggesting we playing under par at the moment and to say we have ground out a few results is a fair observation (and also perhaps the sign of a successful team).

What a balanced post. Much too sensible for most on here.

Pretty much this, although 'sign of a good team' is often over used, more like a team not reaching it's potential.
