Mattio Posted 12 March, 2011 Share Posted 12 March, 2011 Am I the only person that finds it a bit sexist that this event is women's only? I'm sure I'll get slated but if they did this with men only the Loose Women would be creaming their pants about how its against women's rights etc... I know there's plenty of other ways to raise cash for cancer charities but this is one of the more high profile ones and would surely raise more if they had blue for boys or something?... Just my opinion.
PaulSaint Posted 12 March, 2011 Share Posted 12 March, 2011 I agree , men can also get breast cancer, it should be open to all.
hamster Posted 12 March, 2011 Share Posted 12 March, 2011 My guess would be that quite a few men would join in but not sure you'd get that many for a men only event. Just my opinion.

Andy_Porter Posted 13 March, 2011 Share Posted 13 March, 2011 There are loads and loads of races for cancer research for men / mixed. I don't see the problem. I think they would end up with a lot less if it was mixed anyway. 5k is a bit of a silly distance for men anyway, unless you're going for a really quick time you are better off doing 10k + There is a really good 10k for Cancer reasearch in Beaulieu and the Great South run is always good. Deppo Posted 13 March, 2011 Share Posted 13 March, 2011 Maybe the men should race the women and whoever wins gets to kepp all the cash?
CB Saint Posted 13 March, 2011 Share Posted 13 March, 2011 There is that cancer charity event where you have to grow a moustache for a month that's predominantly for men.

They should let women join in IMHO. My ex missus could give most men a run for their money In fact, the dirty cow would give most men most things for money. I think the 5k run is good as a lot who take part are still undertaking treatment. When is it on btw?
Deppo Posted 13 March, 2011 Share Posted 13 March, 2011 Imagine the fuss if they had a Music of White Origin Awards? It's PC gone mad gone mad gone mad.
Channon's Sideburns Posted 13 March, 2011 Share Posted 13 March, 2011 Nah Race for Life for both sexes on the Common would never work. Have you ever been there and seen the queues for the toilets?!
hamster Posted 14 March, 2011 Share Posted 14 March, 2011 Why is it that we don't that many requests for sponsorship on SWF any more? We must have members doing the race for life, great south run and most definitely some going to Kenya. All good causes IMO.
Golden Balls Posted 15 March, 2011 Share Posted 15 March, 2011 There is that cancer charity event where you have to grow a moustache for a month that's predominantly for men. No rule against women joining in. When we used to do it at my old office, men would shave their face and women wouldnt shave their........legs
