Matthew Le God Posted 12 March, 2011 Posted 12 March, 2011 Wasnt this going to be on Sky? No, it was moved to an earlier time in the day because of the England vs Wales game (football not rugby). It was never going to be a Sky game.
dubai_phil Posted 12 March, 2011 Posted 12 March, 2011 It was moved to an earlier time because Lambert, Lallana & Chamberlain will all be called up by England for the game against Wales. HTH
Pedro Posted 12 March, 2011 Posted 12 March, 2011 Bloody hope not, 10 of us booked time off work for a weekend away, hotel and all booked. Surely can't postpone for an under21 friendly the other side of the world.
Pat from Poole Posted 12 March, 2011 Posted 12 March, 2011 Good news for me if they shift it, can't do Saturday games but can do midweek.
Saint_clark Posted 12 March, 2011 Posted 12 March, 2011 Ffs...another football free weekend then. Been far too many this season.
Pedro Posted 12 March, 2011 Posted 12 March, 2011 Tickets on sale monday, will we know for sure by then?
Mattio Posted 12 March, 2011 Posted 12 March, 2011 Ffs...another football free weekend then. Been far too many this season. There's always England on apparently! I hope it's not moved, I'm meant to be having a few mates down for a weekender
Pat from Poole Posted 13 March, 2011 Posted 13 March, 2011 You can always support Poole Town in the FA Vase semi-final first leg on that day.
The9 Posted 13 March, 2011 Posted 13 March, 2011 I'd be surprised if Plymouth call this off with the cash-flow problems they've got, international call ups that I mentioned about 3 months ago or not. The last thing they want is to delay money through the turnstiles for another month, and I'm pretty sure that at this kind of notice we've now only got April 19th left to play the fixture.

The last thing they want is to delay money through the turnstiles for another month, and I'm pretty sure that at this kind of notice we've now only got April 19th left to play the fixture. The BBC website is not now showing the game on the 26th as a forthcoming fixture for either club, but neither has it got any news story saying it has been postponed, and our club web site still shows the game as on, with no hint even that it might be postponed. Very odd.
Sour Mash Posted 14 March, 2011 Posted 14 March, 2011 I'd be surprised if Plymouth call this off with the cash-flow problems they've got, international call ups that I mentioned about 3 months ago or not. The last thing they want is to delay money through the turnstiles for another month, and I'm pretty sure that at this kind of notice we've now only got April 19th left to play the fixture. Having already booked up train tickets for this one, that is what I'm hoping, surely Plymouth will need some cash coming in from what must still be one of their bigger home games of the year, rather than putting it back a month. Having said that, reading the article it does seem like they'll be missing a fair few key players. Am I right in thinking that they don't need to announce if it is being postponed until a few days before hand?
The9 Posted 14 March, 2011 Posted 14 March, 2011 The BBC website is not now showing the game on the 26th as a forthcoming fixture for either club, but neither has it got any news story saying it has been postponed, and our club web site still shows the game as on, with no hint even that it might be postponed. Very odd. BBC hasn't had it on their fixtures since we announced the rearranged time, and LAST season they completely failed to put our away match at Brighton on the fixtures when we moved it forward a day, so I wouldn't read too much into that... it's been missing from the predictor for months, they obviously deleted it instead of moving it.
Soggy Bottom Posted 14 March, 2011 Posted 14 March, 2011 Plymouth Confirm match Postponed, how many games in hand are we going to end up with. http://www.pafc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10364~2315199,00.html
markyboy Posted 14 March, 2011 Posted 14 March, 2011 Bought two tickets just after 0900!!! Still going down though because friends down there. Gutted can't watch any football as always look forward to this fixture. Have to spend it in town now
ludgershallsaint Posted 14 March, 2011 Posted 14 March, 2011 Bank Holiday Monday 2 May is a possibility I suppose.
Bourno Posted 14 March, 2011 Posted 14 March, 2011 FFS Only just booked the tickets this morning, hope it is rearranged for 19 April as this is school holidays and my son can come.
Saint_John Posted 14 March, 2011 Posted 14 March, 2011 Plymouth Confirm match Postponed, how many games in hand are we going to end up with. http://www.pafc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10364~2315199,00.html I believe there is only 2 dates that can be fitted in: 1/ The Tuesday before Brighton (19 April) or 2/ The Monday/Tuesday before Walsall (2/3 May) I hope it is (2) but I think the league will go for (1) (in case there is some bad weather in late April and they need to use (2) for something else). If it is (1) Saints will have to play 3 games in 6 days, therefore I HOPE THE CLUB CONSIDER moving Hartlepool back from BH Monday to a Tuesday night to give the players an extra days rest. (By suggesting that I bet that makes me unpopular with some on here).
trousers Posted 14 March, 2011 Posted 14 March, 2011 Looking at the other fixtures that weekend, I can't see our promotion rivals dropping (m)any points.... Friday, 25 March 2011 Brentford v Carlisle, 19:45 Bristol Rovers v Peterborough, 19:45 Hartlepool v Rochdale, 19:45 MK Dons v Walsall, 19:45 Saturday, 26 March 2011 Bournemouth v Charlton, 13:00 Colchester v Exeter, 13:00 Dag & Red v Sheff Wed, 13:00 Brighton v Swindon, 15:00 Leyton Orient v Yeovil, 15:00 Sunday, 27 March 2011 Huddersfield v Notts County, 16:00
Sour Mash Posted 14 March, 2011 Posted 14 March, 2011 F**s sake, that is now Walsall, Hartlepool, Rochdale and Plymouth that I've had train tickets booked up for this year. Good job Saturday was such a good day out or I'd be well and truly ready for giving up on away trips. Don't think it helps our promotion push too much either.
oldsarum Posted 14 March, 2011 Posted 14 March, 2011 I believe there is only 2 dates that can be fitted in: 1/ The Tuesday before Brighton (19 April) or 2/ The Monday/Tuesday before Walsall (2/3 May) I hope it is (2) but I think the league will go for (1) (in case there is some bad weather in late April and they need to use (2) for something else). I hope it's either May 2nd or 3rd as if we continue as we have done recently this could be the game where we could clinch promotion and we should be able to get plenty of tickets if that's the case. normal allocation is 2000 but I'm sure with Plymouth needing the money they could give us the whole end approx 3,000 if necessary as it's easy to segregate in that end of the ground
saint1977 Posted 14 March, 2011 Posted 14 March, 2011 Getting silly now. They should just deal with national call ups, too many games have been postponed. Yet we aren't playing tomorrow night, why? We can assess our performances all we like, but it's becoming quite possible the pathetic fixture organisation could really harm us this season. Could end up with 4 or 5 games in hand. It doesn't help psychologically when you're always playing catch up. We slipped out of 2nd because of postponed games in the first place. No more! Agree totally Adrian, FFS. Did Saints have the option of vetoing this? Surprised the league allows it. I had sympathy with Plymouth before this but I don't now - hope they go bust. It is Plymouth's responsiblity to sign players that are likely to be available during an English season.
View From The Top Posted 14 March, 2011 Posted 14 March, 2011 It was mooted by myself on 02/02 that it was going to be off due to call ups http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?27982-Plymouth-Argyle-and-impact-on-League-One-%28latest-appointing-an-administrator%29&p=956353#post956353
beatlesaint Posted 14 March, 2011 Posted 14 March, 2011 FFS. Did Saints have the option of vetoing this? Surprised the league allows it. I had sympathy with Plymouth before this but I don't now - hope they go bust. It is Plymouth's responsiblity to sign players that are likely to be available during an English season. Absolutely ridiculous. It is a league rule that if you have 3 or more players called up you can postpone a game. Saints would have no option to object, it is a rule. As for Plymouth's responsibility to sign players available during the season - so if Guly, Fonte and Lallana for instance are called up you wouldnt want our game called off then ? Plymouth have no money, are in administration. I would think getting any player from anywhere is difficult enough. There are other teams and circumstances apart from Southampton you know.
toofarnorth Posted 14 March, 2011 Posted 14 March, 2011 Rory Patterson not been called up for Northern Ireland. Wonder what would happen if one of the people called up got injured and returned to Plymouth. Still not available but not officially on international duty.

The9 Posted 14 March, 2011 Posted 14 March, 2011 Well done? Useful enough to stop me buying a ticket and deciding to go to Wales v England instead.
100%Red&White Posted 14 March, 2011 Posted 14 March, 2011 I hope it's either May 2nd or 3rd as if we continue as we have done recently this could be the game where we could clinch promotion and we should be able to get plenty of tickets if that's the case. normal allocation is 2000 but I'm sure with Plymouth needing the money they could e us the whole end approx 3,000necessary as it's easy to segregate in that end of the ground I'd say we're more likely to get 3000 it it's the April date. If it's May then that would be their last home game of the season where crowds are generally up and they're very likely to be fighting for their League One lives. If that's the case it would make it a very tricky fixture for us.
LGTL Posted 14 March, 2011 Posted 14 March, 2011 I was going to be at the England game anyway, but this is now an added bonus. Means i'll be doing every game that's left.
niceandfriendly Posted 14 March, 2011 Posted 14 March, 2011 Yeah, and I managed to identify New Zealand and Zimbabwe as two of the "culprits" - though the Irish U-21 wasn't on the radar ! http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?27982-Plymouth-Argyle-and-impact-on-League-One-(latest-appointing-an-administrator)&p=956395#post956395 Lol, well done, we all admire your great footballing knowledge mate. Shame about the postponement, friends of mine will now have to miss this one having previously bought tickets, very disappointed that it's allowed to happen to be honest.
Window Cleaner Posted 14 March, 2011 Posted 14 March, 2011 its hardly argyles fault is it.... Certainly isn't, they'll want to give themselves every chance of avoiding relegation although it looks extremely unlikely anyway. Never know though, they're all pretty crap down that end of the table and one decent result could swing it for any of them.
Bensfcno1 Posted 14 March, 2011 Posted 14 March, 2011 It not as if Plymouth are currently paying their wages anyway! Just give us the three points!
lambertsrightleg Posted 14 March, 2011 Posted 14 March, 2011 re arranged date is the 19th April. Meaning that my £6 train journey from Exeter will now be a more expensive one from Salisbury. great
Saint_John Posted 14 March, 2011 Posted 14 March, 2011 The Zimbabwe fixture is a "Continental Qualifier" against Mali (26/3). http://www.fifa.com/associations/association=zim/fixturesresults/gender=m/index.html The 2 NZ fixtures are FRIENDLIES against China PR (25/3) and Japan (29/3) (may be called off). http://www.fifa.com/associations/association=nzl/fixturesresults/gender=m/index.html (I assumes Brighton will also be without Wood for their 2 games in this period ??). The Rep of Ireland web site makes no mention of an U21 game http://www.fai.ie/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=23&Itemid=41 the senior side are due to play Macedonia http://www.fai.ie/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=57&Itemid=32 so he may have been called up to this one. But FRIENDLIES should not count imo.

adethorne Posted 14 March, 2011 Posted 14 March, 2011 oh bugger. hoping rearranged date would be 3rd May, only cos our last 3 saturday away games are brighton 900 away fans, brentford 1600 and orient 1000 away fans at least at plymouth we would get 3000 and have a promo party
saint boggy Posted 14 March, 2011 Posted 14 March, 2011 oh bugger. hoping rearranged date would be 3rd May, only cos our last 3 saturday away games are brighton 900 away fans, brentford 1600 and orient 1000 away fans at least at plymouth we would get 3000 and have a promo party we had over 3000 there last season, so i dare say we'd get somewhere in that region again.....(am crossing ALL my fingers!)
Appy Posted 14 March, 2011 Posted 14 March, 2011 Orient will have more demand this season, due to it being a bigger game.
AK Posted 14 March, 2011 Posted 14 March, 2011 According to Saints Twitter- Still awaiting FL confirmation of the rearranged date.
K,Billy's supersound Posted 14 March, 2011 Posted 14 March, 2011 9 games in one month is gonna be asking alot of the players fingers crossed for no silly hishaps in training or any more daft red cards.
dune Posted 14 March, 2011 Posted 14 March, 2011 5 out of the last 8 games will be away from home then.
LostBoys Posted 14 March, 2011 Posted 14 March, 2011 Really annoyed by this as I was going to go for the weekend. I hope it is a bank holiday game as i can never get there on a Tuesday night
Golden Balls Posted 14 March, 2011 Posted 14 March, 2011 Bugger, had a load of mates coming down for this that wont be able to make it now
