Last 6 games:

http://www.football-league.co.uk/page/CurrentForm/0,,10794~201025,00.html

Pretty close, Peterborough top with 16 points and 18 goals, us and Huddersfield not far behind.

Last 8 games

Again close with Peterborough edging it.

Since Adkins

Brighton played 27, 57 points

Saints played 27, 56 points

Bournemouth played 29, 50 points

Huddersfield played 29, 49 points

Peterborough played 28, 49 points

Think Bournemouth may well struggle to mount a challenge now, after back to back defeats including their cup final.

Think us, Peterborough and Huddersfield are all close but our game in hand and goal difference gives us the edge and would make us favorites for 2nd.

This site is good - and puts Peterborough as getting it based on recent form

All could look different in couple of games!

I think you'll find Brighton have played 28 games since Adkins took over at Southampton and got 61 points.

Peterborough will win the league.

Saints second.

Brighton third.

B'mouth 6th or 7th (not certain but it will be goal difference)

I am sharing this with you now so that you can marvel at my greatness come May.

Kind Regards,

Alain.

go on to peterborough and hudders sites...they all say its their own hands...

suppose if any of us win all games we will go up and not need other results.

1) Brighton

2) Saints

-----------------

3) Peterborough

4) Huddersfield

5) Bournemouth

6) MK Dons

We're not playing particularly well at the moment, but we're getting the results and that is what counts.

Peterborough definitely have built up a head of steam, but they have lots of away games coming up and they still have quite a leaky defence (although it has shored up recently).

Huddersfield will struggle to cope with the loss of Pilkington imo, he's a key player for them. They also have a few games against other teams in the top half of the table coming up.

Bournemouth have done excellently this season but I can't help but feel that they've peaked. 2 defeats in a row will make it difficult for them, and their next 3 games are against Carlisle (A), Charlton (H) and Peterborough (A), all of them tricky opposition. I still think they'll finish comfortably in the play-offs, but I think they can forget about automatic promotion now.

MK Dons have been a surprise package this season, but this is probably down to the management of Robinson and Hamann. Their squad doesn't really have much strength in depth so if they were to pick up an injury in the next few weeks they could slide down the table. Having said that, the only team near them is Leyton Orient, and they're 8pts behind and not exactly in great form either. I reckon they'll sneak in, but it'll be close, the gap between 6th and 7th will definitely narrow over the coming weeks.

For those that are bothered by what the bookies think, these are the odds to get promoted:

Brighton 1/50

Saints 1/5

Huddersfield 6/4

Peterborough 6/4

There appears to be an awful lot of confidence in us whether we go up automatically or not.

Do you think it's the play offs then.

Wow, that'd be an implosion of epic proportions, akin to Arsenal blowing their 4-0 lead against Newcastle...

I shall be attending the Brentford v Huddersfield game on Tuesday.

I have formulated a plan which may be to our advantage, thus.

I will shout negative slogans within earshot of the Huddersfield players to the effect that they are not very good exponents of Association Football, in the hope that they will lose their moral fibre and become wracked with self-doubt, whereupon they will fall upon each other like wild dogs, insodoing allowing an advantageous situation to Brentford FC.

The upshot of this devious manipulation on my part wll be to leave Huddersfield unable to effect a positive result to the match.

Wish me luck in my endeavours.

9th April is the important date:

Huddersfield v Peterborough,

Leyton Orient v Southampton,

Cracking ties there. Potential for all being in top 6 at that point.

Yay, shallest thee smitest the northern fruit of the whores' loins with your forthspeakingness. And may God's fair luck be with thee.

(Maybe a bit much pirate talk in there....)

I will ask my friendly colleague who is a Brentford supporting person to join you in your efforts as he will also be attending due to him holding a season ticket for said Brentford FC.

BBC's predictor doesnt seem to know that we are yet to play plymouth, hence why we still have a game to play at the end of the season! Every score in my predicted table was 2-1 because I couldnt be bothered to move my hands around too much..

Think I had Saints to draw 1 and lose 2 between now and the end of the season, with the rest obviously being wins.

Technically its not it in ours.

Technically, it is. If we win the rest of our games, we go up. AKA, in our hands.

Leyton Orient not in great form??? They must be the form team of all four divisions, they're on an absolutely unbelievable run.

Explain how it isn't?

I think he meant "Technically it's not, it's in ours", as in it's in our hands and not those of Posh or Huddersfield, so technically he's correct. :)
