Dare I ask.... how was the server today...

Better than usual Baj (no database errors that i could see) But i couldn't get back on the forum in the 2nd half - kept timing out for me (connection to server timed out etc). It does load eventually...if you have the patience to keep refreshing!

It was slow but worked for me after a while. I wasn't posting only reading though.

Having said that it might be useful to say it was probably a lot busier than most matches would be though, and I didn't pay for it :-)

Ok thanks. Seems like we have a different bottleneck now if we're not getting DB errors any more, thanks.

def. an improvement though Baj, there have been times when the forum would be unavailable for an hour after the match - but it's really responsive now.

....although is that because we won, and there's nothing to moan about? ;)

The fact that acess comes back so quick after FT is also an improvement. I thought the reason for loss of access after FT is because the server hosts so many sites just like this one where there is high traffic at FT ?

Got kicked a couple of times today Baz - no DB errors as such, but was unable to find the forum and returned a blank page. Was slow to log on intially, and a couple of times refreshed slowly - but the performance was not all bad. Most of the time service appeared normal / good. But as I say - on the odd occassion I got booted when I tried to refresh - that said, after I was booted - I managed to get back on very quickly, simply by refreshing, no need to relog in.

I am out of the country at the moment and found SaintsPlayer/Solent commentary to be perfect but this website was very slow and difficult to refresh !!

Can only say it as I see it and TBF it did not spoil my day !!!!

kept clicking and it wouldnt load in the second half, even now problems. gave up and watched it on sky live scores

The reason the forum slows down is because people repeatedly click refresh. If you click it once and wait it works fine, albeit a few seconds longer.

Sorry but that's what I do and it was terrible. Gave up 2nd half, just wouldn't load.

So, are you saying we should not refresh?! Face facts, it cannot cope, very poor imo.

No...as I said before that post, if you press refresh and wait it will load even if it takes a bit longer. Sitting there furiously smashing the refresh button every couple of seconds is not going to do anything other than slow it down even more.

No database errors for me but took ages to update apart from a short period at the beginning of the 2nd half, and a couple of occasions where 'connection could not be made'.

Really really poor. I hate to say but it's just no better than it ever was before you started charging for the service, which begs the question: what exactly am I paying for?

Mostly fine for me. Slow to load a few times, but much quicker than it used to be, no database errors, and far shorter wait times than it used to be.
