Fratton 84

I was not at Fratton 84 as I was 10, but I would love to see a Saints first team win there, and would have loved to have been at this game, with a last minute winner. I have been there twice and we lost them both. I was there for Knights game and that was really good fun, but not the same as a first team match.

For me it has to be the FA Cup game when we won 2-1 in the last minute with a Crouch pen!!

The play-off semi-final a couple of years ago was the best one I've seen. Really exciting with extra time and penalties to boot. Shame about the result though. :(

Three games at Fratton stand out for me

1966 Saints won 5-2 , i was 12 and it was first Derby away i saw, stood in Fratton End with Mum, Nan and Grandad, Auntie, Uncle and brother

1976 1 -0 Saints just after Semi Final. late goal

But as others have said 1984 because of the build up, they had a good side, we were playing well, they were singing "Scummers Scummers here we come" and then " Armstrong. Moran One Nil.

Brilliant

This for me. Everything was perfect in that game. Not only did we go 4th for xmas, but we sent the skates into the bottom 3 at the same time.

Closely followed by the Carling Cup game we won 2-0. Beattie getting both. Not a classic game but as it had been so long since we played them, the build up, atmosphere and the fact it was an evening game just made it so electric!

1984 would have won it for me but it was very slightly before my time.

I remember the first visit to The Dell after many years when we got relegated - 4-0 from memory...but for absolute drama and atmosphere and intimidation (and in those days it really did kick off) 1984...bloody fantastic!

Plymouth v Saints back in 2006 was one of the most never-racking and frustrating derby matches I've watched for a long time. Wotton played for them and played an absolute blinder scoring a penalty in the last couple of minutes to win it 2-1 for them.
