thesaint sfc Posted 9 March, 2011 Share Posted 9 March, 2011 I work for a computer company in Sussex, f*ck me is it quiet at the moment! The phones are barely even ringing. This has been going on for about 3 weeks now. Anyone else finding their work extremely quiet? I've booked a 2 week holiday because it's so quiet - boredom is killing me. Dimond Geezer Posted 9 March, 2011 Share Posted 9 March, 2011 Yes very. I'm in the construction industry & haven't filled a timesheet with more tha 60% productive time since before christmas. Saintsweb, facebook, minesweeper & solitaire are my only 'entertainment'.

Deppo Posted 9 March, 2011 Share Posted 9 March, 2011 why would you book time off when it's quiet? That's the best time to be in. You don't want to come into work when it's all busy. You've got it back to front, you young idiot. Then again, I wouldn't know too much as I've been living off an inheritance since I was

Saint-scooby Posted 9 March, 2011 Share Posted 9 March, 2011 Started up a new venture last November, I am already subbing jobs out, as from tomorrow morning I will be in manic mode until this time next week.. I just wish fuel prices were lower, its now getting expensive. Saying that there are a few days a week when the phone does not ring.

LGTL Posted 9 March, 2011 Share Posted 9 March, 2011 It always busy in the Refinery, you would never think there is/was a big recession, it's just money no object continuously. Saying that, i'm only temporary until July and I don't really do too much, but the money is great. Lovely.

You should find one quite easily they are out of favour at present, although the drawer length is a tad un-usual
Andy_Porter Posted 10 March, 2011 Share Posted 10 March, 2011 I have two big jobs ahead of me, a kitchen and a fencing job. Then a handfull of smaller 1-2 hours jobs (tv mounting, stuck door etc) and a couple of 1-2 days jobs. That's about usual really. Have priced up three large jobs so would be nice to get one of those in at some point. Am in the middle of getting my website re-designed by a professional so should hopefully generate some more business.

I think the poster called Junction 9 is in a similar line of work to you and he's always quite busy - often from work that people on here have PM'd him about. He fixed a dishwasher for me once. A good lad, decent price etc. His ears are VERY large though.
TopGun Posted 12 March, 2011 Share Posted 12 March, 2011 Energy remains busy. My PR company is actively dealing with one biomass plant proposal (not Southampton), seven wind farm proposals, two gas-fired power station proposals and a general pro-wind public campaign in mid-Wales.
