Baj Posted 8 March, 2011 Posted 8 March, 2011 Out of sheer idle curiosity, roughly how many infractions are issued, say, every week on average? A handful? Dozens? Hundreds? Quick database query shows 5 have been issues this month, so little less than 1 a day
thesaint sfc Posted 8 March, 2011 Posted 8 March, 2011 Are you sure its not just a tickbox in control panel? I use a lot of VB forums and a lot of them have that setup - can't imagine they've all had to go into programming! Is there not an extension you can get?
Saint_clark Posted 8 March, 2011 Posted 8 March, 2011 Who have I reported other than deppo and the other idiot? In fact, how many people have I actually reported in the last 6 months? Most of the emails I get are about reported posts from you tbh. You're obviously forgetting about a lot of them.
thesaint sfc Posted 8 March, 2011 Posted 8 March, 2011 I think you should be able to report your own posts. Some of my posts are completely pointless and quite frankly, they disgust me.
hypochondriac Posted 8 March, 2011 Posted 8 March, 2011 Most of the emails I get are about reported posts from you tbh. You're obviously forgetting about a lot of them. Please enlighten me. I seriously cannot recall reporting someone other than those two.
Saint_clark Posted 8 March, 2011 Posted 8 March, 2011 Please enlighten me. I seriously cannot recall reporting someone other than those two. I've deleted them now, but I can remember seeing your name quite a few times.
hypochondriac Posted 8 March, 2011 Posted 8 March, 2011 I've deleted them now, but I can remember seeing your name quite a few times. On infractions other than the two I mentioned?
trousers Posted 8 March, 2011 Posted 8 March, 2011 Quick database query shows 5 have been issues this month, so little less than 1 a day Cheers
Saint_clark Posted 8 March, 2011 Posted 8 March, 2011 On infractions other than the two I mentioned? No, on reported posts.
Smirking_Saint Posted 8 March, 2011 Posted 8 March, 2011 No, on reported posts. LOL On another note, can it please be noted i have never reported anybody and certainly didn't report Hypo for calling me Spastic Saint, its pretty obvious we don't get on, but i really am not sad enough to get annoyed and so report his posts or ignore him. Personally i think that the infractions route is a good idea, i also have recieved warnings in the past, this is IMO also a decent idea for those of us that don't continually push the boundries. TBF, unless someone complains about being abused i don't think infractions should be given out unless they seriously break forum rules i.e racism, libel(tough one) etc etc
hypochondriac Posted 8 March, 2011 Posted 8 March, 2011 No, on reported posts. I meant reported posts other than the two posters
Deppo Posted 8 March, 2011 Posted 8 March, 2011 I meant reported posts other than the two posters I understand you, hypo. Its everyone else that is being stupid, not you.
Saint_clark Posted 9 March, 2011 Posted 9 March, 2011 On infractions other than the two I mentioned? I meant reported posts other than the two posters How the hell am I supposed to know that "infractions" means "reported posts" in your mind?
dune Posted 9 March, 2011 Posted 9 March, 2011 (edited) hypo if you grass people up then you can hardly moan about being grassed up. personally i think anyone who uses the report button for petty reasons is a c/nt. i have reported 2 posts, 1 about a remark made about me from vftt which crossed a line (i did however request that he wasn't infracted) and another making light of the death of marcus liebherr (because it was sick). i was infracted yesterday for the alps the octopus thread (which i thought was funny - the thread not the infraction) and that was fair enough. Edited 9 March, 2011 by dune
Verbal Posted 9 March, 2011 Posted 9 March, 2011 Grassing people up?!! That's made my day. Dune, you trying to talk like a near-relative of the Krays on a comparatively twee football fans' forum is the best of unintended comedy.

I wasn't moaning, people can do what they want. Just saying I know who it is. I only ever report those 2 people when I've started a thread and I get tw*tty comments derailing it (I didn't report it but the solar system thread for instance.) or if a post just contains abuse. I do this because as I was being accused of it anyway thought I may as well and sometimes this forum is a useful tool to find out information. I don't want to wade through a load of sh*t to have to find something of interest. I wouldn't consider it petty. Edited 9 March, 2011 by hypochondriac
hypochondriac Posted 9 March, 2011 Posted 9 March, 2011 How the hell am I supposed to know that "infractions" means "reported posts" in your mind? I apologise. When I read it back I realised I meant reported posts and not infractions.
Deppo Posted 9 March, 2011 Posted 9 March, 2011 You are such a great guy, hypo. I can't understand why everyone thinks you are such a stupid t*at.

hypochondriac Posted 9 March, 2011 Posted 9 March, 2011 AFoM believes you. Someone has to. I never moaned about people reporting me. Due to the nature of my posts people are bound to report me.
Atticus Finch of Maycomb Posted 9 March, 2011 Posted 9 March, 2011 I never moaned about people reporting me. Due to the nature of my posts people are bound to report me. Because they are stupid and annoying.
norwaysaint Posted 9 March, 2011 Posted 9 March, 2011 I think too many people are using this forum as a place to have "fun". It really isn't on.
Verbal Posted 10 March, 2011 Posted 10 March, 2011 Due to the nature of my posts people are bound to report me. You may have hit upon something here.
St Chalet Posted 10 March, 2011 Author Posted 10 March, 2011 I never moaned about people reporting me. Due to the nature of my posts people are bound to report me. TBF I can't recall anyone reporting any of your posts.
Deppo Posted 10 March, 2011 Posted 10 March, 2011 TBF I can't recall anyone even bothering to read any of your posts. That's better.
Saint_clark Posted 10 March, 2011 Posted 10 March, 2011 I think too many people are using this forum as a place to have "fun". It really isn't on. This is exactly the attitude we need to get away from really. This place isn't the be all and end all, ffs. Chill out - don't take the interwebs so seriously.

Yeah, NS, stop being a boring old fuddy duddy stick in the mud.
hypochondriac Posted 10 March, 2011 Posted 10 March, 2011 You may have hit upon something here. Telling people truths they cannot handle.

Verbal Posted 10 March, 2011 Posted 10 March, 2011 Telling people truths they cannot handle. Yes, for you are our Oracle. Or one of your personas is. How many have you got by the way? And do they fall out with each other? Or split?

I am not the teller of truth for all. The enlightened ones like um pahars have figured it out for themselves. You however are beyond saving.

Chill out - don't take the interwebs so seriously. Nonsense. Discussing a pasttime with people you've never met is LIFE AND DEATH stuff. May all who dissagree with me get struck down with something unspeakably horrible..... er..... like marrying a Skate.... yeah, that should do it.
Deppo Posted 10 March, 2011 Posted 10 March, 2011 I think that, in the interests of transparency: all infractions should be made public, all reporting of posts should be made public and everyone should have to give an address when they sign up which should also be made public. If there is an argument, posters should also be made to say everything they say on here to the person's face. This should be moderated by a moderator, who should be present to witness the comments and agree that they were said correctly and that the person saying them didn't squirm out of saying them or back down or apologise.

hypochondriac Posted 15 March, 2011 Posted 15 March, 2011 (edited) Well done Baj. Maybe I underestimated you. Edited 15 March, 2011 by hypochondriac
Saint_clark Posted 15 March, 2011 Posted 15 March, 2011 Banned due to accumulation of infractions, it's possible Bajs maths failed him and he made a terrible, terrible mistake.
hypochondriac Posted 15 March, 2011 Posted 15 March, 2011 Banned due to accumulation of infractions, it's possible Bajs maths failed him and he made a terrible, terrible mistake. Alternatively he knew exactly what he was doing and has become sensible for once.
Kadeem Hardison Posted 15 March, 2011 Posted 15 March, 2011 What a funny person this hypochondriac fellow is, posting his pleasure at someone's absence. In my experience, actions like come down to low self-esteem. Sorry to see Deppo gone. I quite liked him.
Smirking_Saint Posted 15 March, 2011 Posted 15 March, 2011 Alternatively he knew exactly what he was doing and has become sensible for once. Can't be true. Your not banned
Smirking_Saint Posted 15 March, 2011 Posted 15 March, 2011 I just realised what Deppo was infracted for, and potentially banned. Thats pretty sad IMO some people need to grow a sense of humour.
Saint_clark Posted 15 March, 2011 Posted 15 March, 2011 There was a post of his which was deleted which would have been enough on it's own IMO.
Thedelldays Posted 16 March, 2011 Posted 16 March, 2011 what is the point in banning deppo......he/she only comes back as kadeem etc
Atticus Finch of Maycomb Posted 16 March, 2011 Posted 16 March, 2011 I just realised what Deppo was infracted for, and potentially banned. Thats pretty sad IMO some people need to grow a sense of humour. Now now, there is nothing witty or funny about humour, irony or satire.

Rattlehead Posted 16 March, 2011 Posted 16 March, 2011 There is nothing witty or funny about deppo. Agreed. He is the Joe Pasquale of this board.
