Deppo Posted 6 March, 2011 Posted 6 March, 2011 I never understand these threads. What does 4525 mean?
sidthesquid Posted 6 March, 2011 Posted 6 March, 2011 I never understand these threads. What does 4525 mean? For the simple-minded - it means 45 minutes & 25 seconds in. Or you can watch three quarters of an hour of other clubs waiting for Saints
sidthesquid Posted 6 March, 2011 Posted 6 March, 2011 Sorry didn't mean to to be so rude. It is early on a Sunday morning, after all
MongoNeil Posted 6 March, 2011 Posted 6 March, 2011 What was Kelvin doing just before their player got sent off? Looks a right calamity...
benjii Posted 6 March, 2011 Posted 6 March, 2011 The red card was pretty funny at the time but it's even better on highlights. I thought the player who slid in on Davis should've been in trouble with the ref. He also caught Butterfield. Their other player has a go at Butterfield for some reason(?!) and gets sent off - brilliant! Honestly, that ref was comedy but in the end he did well for us.
fanimal Posted 6 March, 2011 Posted 6 March, 2011 Lee B looks suspiciously offside for Deanos goal, right in front of the keeper; maybe the right back is level with him?
benjii Posted 6 March, 2011 Posted 6 March, 2011 Lee B looks suspiciously offside for Deanos goal, right in front of the keeper; maybe the right back is level with him? Meh. It seems you can do pretty much whatever you want nowadays as long as you don't touch the ball.
saints-cris Posted 6 March, 2011 Posted 6 March, 2011 Looked like we got a tad lucky yesterday. Not complaining, Colchester was a terrible away day last year.
RonManager Posted 6 March, 2011 Posted 6 March, 2011 Colchester was a terrible away day last year. The highlight for me was seeing Oliver Hill's futuristic 1949 built bus station canopy at Newbury Park underground station, due to diversions because of engineering work that day.

Having watched the red card incident a few times I think that Butterfield actually "manufactured" some sort of contact with the player who slid in, hence Mooney's reaction; clever or gamesmanship depending on your viewpoint. What is the game coming to if you can get sent off for pushing someone in the back though; raising hands above the shoulders front-on perhaps, but to be sent off for that was pathetic!!

The thing is though, the ref was clearly a joker so it was a very silly thing to do. As Adkins identified in his interview, coming to terms with the reffing was just as important as handling Colchester.
EastleighSoulBoy Posted 6 March, 2011 Posted 6 March, 2011 Watched the Peterborough highlights also. Mackail Smith for us in the summer please Messrs Adkins & Cortese.
benjii Posted 6 March, 2011 Posted 6 March, 2011 Watched the Peterborough highlights also. Mackail Smith for us in the summer please Messrs Adkins & Cortese. If we go up and they don't then I would imagine there is a reasonable likelihood of that.
SimonC Posted 6 March, 2011 Posted 6 March, 2011 Northampton v Shrews was nuts..4 absolute screamers in one match. Nealy as entertaining as the Macc - Wycombe brawl last week!

It just seemed like he pushed him for no reason. Technically a red card, but a talking to would have be fine

Mattio Posted 6 March, 2011 Posted 6 March, 2011 towards the start of the lge 2 goals - worth finding it.. Nice, just watched it about 1 hour and 1 minute in for anyone looking! (third was the best for me)
Deppo Posted 6 March, 2011 Posted 6 March, 2011 About as much as that is you in yours, I suspect Is that a no?
bender Posted 6 March, 2011 Posted 6 March, 2011 (edited) Lee B looks suspiciously offside for Deanos goal, right in front of the keeper; maybe the right back is level with him? As usual I was having a crap for a Saints goal. Missed this one unfortunately. Me and the guy in the next trap were cursing our luck. Only away trip of this season so far. The game definitely turned in a 2 min spell which involved us scoring the first then the sending off. We got the luck but then we didnt at Walsal so swings and roundabouts.
