Fitzhugh Fella Posted 4 March, 2011 Posted 4 March, 2011 (edited) The Saints fan that won the Coca-Cola competition which then donated £250,000 towards the BWP transfer. Does anyone know her or know how she actually won the competition? Sorry have been told it was Chantelle Legg! Edited 4 March, 2011 by Fitzhugh Fella
dan17 Posted 4 March, 2011 Posted 4 March, 2011 Think she won it on Soccer AM didn't she? Drawn out of a hat IIRC.
stevegrant Posted 4 March, 2011 Posted 4 March, 2011 If I remember rightly, it was a text-to-enter competition, and the club with the most entries won the £250k. The individual winner was drawn at random from all the winning club's entries, I think.
Hopkins Posted 4 March, 2011 Posted 4 March, 2011 Amazing how bitter some people can sound with hindsight isn't it. Pretty sure fans were raving about the signing when it happened. Signing didn't work out shocker!
Nexstar Posted 4 March, 2011 Posted 4 March, 2011 Wasn't it you checked your code online and quite a few had sort of £2, £5, £50 for your club and then 1 code had £250k?
Truesaint Posted 4 March, 2011 Posted 4 March, 2011 Checking your code from a coke bottle online was something separate to this. Think you had to text in, and it was then drawn out the hat on tv. I only remember as my small claim to fame was finishing third in the table of people entering their codes online for Saints raising something like £125 for the transfer kitty in addition to the £250,000 top prize. Mind you that means that i probably raised the money to sign Pulis!

sunrise Posted 4 March, 2011 Posted 4 March, 2011 Moan moan ****ing moan, "Shame it wasn't put to better use". For christs sake, we didn't know it wasn't going to work out - not all signings do but that's life.
Hatch Posted 4 March, 2011 Posted 4 March, 2011 Moan moan ****ing moan, "Shame it wasn't put to better use". For christs sake, we didn't know it wasn't going to work out - not all signings do but that's life. Yes we did.
Alain Perrin Posted 4 March, 2011 Posted 4 March, 2011 Ironic that mobile phones led to BWP joining the club and contributed to his leaving the club....
ringwood Posted 4 March, 2011 Posted 4 March, 2011 Yes , I know her, she's living in Berlin currently, although her dad, brother and i think her gran still attend matches and sit in the Northam.
Fitzhugh Fella Posted 4 March, 2011 Author Posted 4 March, 2011 Thanks for that esp Ringwood's contribution. Quite a unique transfer nevertheless.
Huffton Posted 4 March, 2011 Posted 4 March, 2011 It was a Rupert signing, however he thought he was getting Shaun...
stevegrant Posted 4 March, 2011 Posted 4 March, 2011 It was a Rupert signing, however he thought he was getting Shaun... We probably still got the better end of the deal there
ringwood Posted 4 March, 2011 Posted 4 March, 2011 As me and my dad post on this account i will fill you in, Its Chantelle Legg. As part of her prize she got £10,000 along with free season tickets for a year along with getting to attend the press conference and meet the team and Rupert.........Oh and in typical echo style they made up an interview that they ''had done'' with her.........they never even spoke to her

Smirking_Saint Posted 4 March, 2011 Posted 4 March, 2011 Yes , I know her, she's living in Berlin currently, although her dad, brother and i think her gran still attend matches and sit in the Northam. BWP didn't work out but TBF she didn't have to flee to berlin !!!!!!
Fitzhugh Fella Posted 4 March, 2011 Author Posted 4 March, 2011 BWP didn't work out but TBF she didn't have to flee to berlin !!!!!! Lol Thanks Ringwood, I stand corrected. Good to hear she got something out of it. Trust the echo
Saint Samuel Posted 4 March, 2011 Posted 4 March, 2011 BWP wasn't great for us, but I'll always be grateful to him after his 2 goals at Reading in 2008, one of my favourite away days. And his thieving antics in Pompey inspired a great chant.
La BoIS Saint Posted 4 March, 2011 Posted 4 March, 2011 Think I met her and her dad in Sweden on the last pre season tour.
LostBoys Posted 5 March, 2011 Posted 5 March, 2011 it was a rupert signing, however he thought he was getting shaun...

Can't see anyone moaning about BWP, just people discussing how the competition was one.
eelpie Posted 5 March, 2011 Posted 5 March, 2011 It was a Rupert signing, however he thought he was getting Shaun... Don't be mean to Rupert. He did sign George Weah's cousin after all......
Gordon Mockles Posted 5 March, 2011 Posted 5 March, 2011 Ironic that mobile phones led to BWP joining the club and contributed to his leaving the club.... I thought everyone knew, it was nothing to do with phones. Blackmailing Skate landlords, who'd have em!!
St Joan Posted 5 March, 2011 Posted 5 March, 2011 If I remember rightly, it was a text-to-enter competition, and the club with the most entries won the £250k. The individual winner was drawn at random from all the winning club's entries, I think. This is right, but it wasn't a text-to-enter competition. It involved voting on a website which you could do repeatedly day after day.
Crazy Diamond Posted 5 March, 2011 Posted 5 March, 2011 If I remember rightly, there was a lot of speculation it was going to be Mark Yeates who had a good spell on loan at Colchester from Spurs.
Leicestersaint Posted 5 March, 2011 Posted 5 March, 2011 Can't see anyone moaning about BWP, just people discussing how the competition was one. yes - who is moaning about anything - some of you should get a grip!
